@Lixil I don't mean to sound rube but on the first day of the Halloween event, many people's daily activities did not work... That's still a day which I personally couldn't progress on getting the rewards. Don't get me wrong, I still was having fun and played Epidemic because it was a new game mode that brought something fresh with 3 competing faction and multiple territories to capture before one big massive war. I still enjoyed and played it regardless of the rubber-banding lag but despite that, it didn't count toward my Epidemic Ranking and holiday rewards. Everyone has personal and professional commitments which come first and foremost obviously. While the concept of Epidemic is fresh, intense, chaotically fun... The scale of it means that each match does take a fair bit more time and your usual game and the activities start to feel like a grind in both in-game time and in concurrent days. This may not be the best place for it but if there was 2 piece of feedback to give to staff then it would be this: If an game mode if going to have activity targets linked to longer matches, then please consider the frequency of which new activities are given. 1 activity a day is nice to get/keep people active, but if it may need 30 minutes to complete 1 game and it could take 5 games to complete each day... it does start to feel less enjoyable overall. Maybe also consider having excess and alternative activities randomised. If everyone gets the same activities in the same order then a good majority are going to be be trying to do the same thing which doesn't give a varied game play. If 70% of all teams are trying to defend, then game play may feel a little unbalanced and not as engaged as it could be. Once the rank/contact has been completed/maxed, then the previous activities and the other yet unplayed activities can be played for extra (reduced) Joker Tickets ? -edit- Apologies for going off with this tangent.

The Live Action trailer is thrilling and great at showing of all the customisation potential but yeah... The live action scenes was not the most complimentary of gameplay footage which is just stage clearly. It is evident the cinematic live shots and in game footage teams probably didn't have quite the same level of understanding of what each other were doing, exaggerated with the amount of gun fire with the in game footage and showing some of the finest storm trooper aim... Neither live footage and in game footage reflected. The in game foot served to reflect the game overall worse! I have to say that i always LOVED the cinematic live action segments but it always did just over shadowed the actual gameplay. -In 3 words: Conflicted, Semi-disconnected(Live), Overcompensating(Game). The 2009 E3 trailer is brilliant as it brings you into San Paro, It gives off the temptations of ultimate freedom which criminals have, alternating too and from the severity and seriousness for enforcers. What makes this trailer great is that it's not setting expectations high or trying to build hype, emphasises more on how San Paro war with criminal and enforcement activity is become commonplace, yet not becoming trivialised. -In 3 words: Corresponding, Immersive, Grit.

Gamersfirst is under new ownership so who knows. Black Friday is over 2 weeks so be patient because it's still a bit early... unless you're planning to spend over $100

While it may be a momentary outage, it's a premature end of a game without any winning teams. The matches have to be restart and for some activities which are best achieved at the final objective, It is still a good 10+ minutes lost on top of the round which was lost. -edit- Can I just add that new activities are provided daily and the holiday event is limited in days, with personal real world commitment. It is quite the grind and demand to achieve all epidemic ranks.

I agree that the tabbed mission breakdown should show what secondary and maybe grenade a player has equipped. But I got to say no to the stacking of mission objectives/activities. While it's nice in concepts, Its a balance to show as much information on the UI Hud and not obstructing some field of view with too many overlays.

If we have player own ambulance/armoured security truck, could we also have NPC Buses and fire trucks too please?

In relation to the event, where are the GMs / tGMs ?
VickyFox replied to CookiePuss's topic in General Discussion Archive
It's understandable that coverage 24/7 is demanding and a bit unrealistic, especially with time zones taken into consideration. In any game, killing a team mate 5 times in a game would lead to a instant kick from the server, Just food for thought that the potential could be having that kicking deterrence extended to team mate's deployed vehicles..? Yes car occasional parked car with remote detonator at spawns is what I'd personally consider an exploit, but I do also put it down to just the accessibility of the spawn location. ...It's the same for Fight Club spawn in Baylan Shipping. But this year's event has been noticeably less toxic and I've not seen a single person who I think could be hacking. Thanks! -
Remote Detonator in Halloween event.
VickyFox replied to MartisLTU's topic in General Discussion Archive
I have used remote detonator during the event to try and help speed up the damage dealt to barrel stacks as well as to try and suppress the progress of small barrels but I've not planted a car bomb for the start of a new game. I have to say that this has a pet peeve of mine for a good while in Fight Club Baylan Shipping as an enforcer, that and meteors. While fight club is team death match, there is just no need for spawn killing at the start of a game in a territory capture and hold game mode. -
And maybe consider reducing the area of explosive damage? While the actual OPGL grenade rounds are smaller than handheld grenade rounds, the explosion from each round are larger. Bare in mind that OPGLs hold 6 rounds. It always has been over powered but I don't know why people don't comment on it more.

Expect the first week to have some game throwing exploit and, or a start of halloween being an actual full week late before going live on servers.

I have to agree with dope fish that not having emotes doesn't mean a lack of imagination or ingenuity. Emotes may give the illusion of giving more character to an entity, like in fortnight... They don't say anything, no history, no behavioural traits or quirks. They just do funny dances. Emotes add emphasis to what is already going on, what being said and done which is nice... But that doesn't add much more context or elaborate on what is going on. /me, Sitting and pointing would be nice but isn't the greatest change to APB because role play isn't really what APB is about. I love to role play and i like player organised events, but there are a lot of other things I would want to see in APB before new emotes and interactivity.

The reason why day/Night Cycles are not really a thing is because the old game engine was not optimised, It is being worked and and it has been for a while I think. The PC version of day/night cycle is not really a cycle I'd say and even then the nighttime is more like late evening with a mild sunset. Honestly Little Orbit are working hard and would rather they just focused and get on with the job of fixing the game to the point IT SHOULD OF BEEN OVER 3 YEARS AGO! Sorry, I knew either APB would have to undergo new management or be written off. But it is still frustrating to hear such minor and low priority suggestions when the servers still act up, population at it's lowest ever and every new update is experimental and can just as well break 3 things for ever 1 that is fixed.

Make contacts not strictly tied to their specific district
VickyFox replied to Infinit3Fairl1ght's topic in Game
Well you said it yourself that then people would be playing in districts they enjoy... Think of it as giving the option to kids on what they want to eat without prompts or any influence, they wouldn't want to try anything new as they just have what they always have and always like. I agree a balance is needed for convenience and to counter low server population, but there needs to be something to motivate people to play in the respective contact district other wise it is just a waste of time by devs in making it, maintaining them and just having those parts of the server not being used. Mmmm... maybe as a thought, having cross-district contact pledging but with a contact standing reduction of like 20 or 25%? -
If sponsoring a high exposure content creator then APB really HAS to be optimised, repaired and with new content to entice people to play. By all means a streamers and youtubers can just say no upon sight of the state of APB. It goes without saying that people are not going to buy a product regardless who promotes it if they feel that the product is in a poor condition upon first impressions. First impressions can form as quickly as 7 seconds and they can last for years.

Ok so just to confirm that accounts linked to Steam can have Armas paid for by Steam Wallet and additional funds can be added to Steam Wallet while in game/Armas. As for the benefits for LO with the use of Steam linked accounts? At this time it's most so beneficial to just be on the platform at all. Steam gives LO the future potential for more exclusive content and deals, Steam Achievements, Cards and Badges. While being minor, these little integrations can be an incentive for existing used to keep active via steam while attracting new users. Financial wise, we don't know what kind of terms are to the agreement with steam but the exposure of APB to a wider audience on the platform in theory should outweigh the cost.

The perception of the game being pay to win isn't reflective of the reality... but it also has to be noted that it is no surprise that this image isn't helped by GamersFirst's pricing of armas with so many reskin/remesh variants of already existing content. Little Orbit has a bit of work to do to, and part of that work is to change the perception of the game by showing that this is new management that does take customer service seriously. Constructive criticism is always welcome but this thought of APB being pay to win, full or cheaters, with mod or caring staff is nothing new. without sounding harsh, we have been aware of the problems for years and Little Orbit has been here for what... under 3 months? If you don't have any new suggestions (or any) then try not to put things down so much as staff are working hard with the intention to address... practically everything.

You are online security aware but find long secure passwords an inconvenience...? Sorry but there are player are underage and probably have siblings who also play, and I'm 100% certain that if passwords could be saved then it's going to throw up complications with people playing on other's account. I can be cynical but I don't think anyone can say "no, this categorically won't happen". While more scams, hacking and account theft could happen and it wouldn't be my problem. I know it would be more tickets to customer support and possibly more unnecessary forum posts asking for help. If you want convenience then you have Steam account linking. Sorry but security and convenience just do not go hand in hand in most aspects of life.

Chaos District/Anarchy mode was a thing and is currently planned to be reworked into "Riot" (placeholder name).

The fact people have to break a stack of wood pallets to get on to the roof, despite not being game breaking, it still wasn't intended and with such a big area. It's just as hard to defend as it is to attack but honestly that isn't the point I feel.

derp? Is there a specific reason why this patch is extended?
-
For someone who believes that you are well informed, you certainly are not acting or showing it. If something has been removed from OTW then it may be because a few reasons: It could be "Shelved" and not considered for use or adding to the game. It could be just easier to remove the item while being worked on further. Sometimes removal is needed as the content is negatively affecting the game which in unintended. (OTW is not the main game so a patch or quick fix is not a high priority for it). Understand: OTW (Open Test Server) as the name implies is open to anyone to access when it is online, but everyone uses it with the understanding that some content on this server may be changed and some content may NEVER be released. Also access to the OTW doesn't mean pomission or legal right is given for you to use some or all content, There are some things on that may appear on OTW that IS ONLY intended for staff.

A Secret Or Easter Egg I discovered in Asylum.
VickyFox replied to (Xbox)MortisedGuide's topic in General Discussion Archive
When xbox users think they found something new and post it on the forum... -
While having little baring on the game, It is really inconvenient and can be demoralising that little can be done so late in the mission, especially if the objective is at a distance. I agree that the last minute and a half should stop attempting to call back up.

If custom decal on a texture layers was costly and potentially additional work load for both staff and the servers, Do you think custom gun accessories and rework of all guns is going to be viable. This is something that would take probably at least 3 years if the servers don't strain from it.

Well that was constructive ZombieBiscuit. I don't know why up votes are anonymous but i can understand down voter being identifiable could lead to escalations from minor disagreements.
