  1. Full time employees and GM are only able to cover their respected time zones. Staff are working hard to improve the game and bring new content and features. I've been playing since 2011 and I'd rather see the game fixed. like it should of been years ago. I think a bigger priority is to stop and prevent any further DDoS attack like we saw on the servers.

    PS4 Update?

Just read his blog post via Neophobia's link. Consoles are on hold with development because the PC version which was the original version is not up to date. Little Orbit's intention is get all versions up to the same standard. ---- The Shame of the year for 2018 was Bethesda who milked dry the cash cow that is their fallout franchise, Fallout 76 used Fallout 4 assests, used false advertising and deceptive practices both to sell the game and within the game with microtransactions. Also Nuka vodka was later considered deceptive in description of their product over christmas. And Shame of the Year for 2017 was of course BattleFront 2 with EA, a game with mircotransaction that was extortionate. A game with microtransactions that cause law makers across the world to consider if lootboxes were gambling... Yet somehow the mobile phone market with premium currency and pay-wall cooldown timers is completely ignored with games marketed to kids as young as 4! Honestly I question what you consider a "a true game industry guy" when the game industry can be quite condescending and manipulative indirectly. All I'm going to say is GamerFirst did nothing for 3 years except doing the ports for consoles before being taken over by Little Orbit. I mean in total... they did nothing, no content, now and then there was the odd patch to fix bugs but no significant updates, no communication with the community and even at times they cancelled holiday events! If you haven't seen how close APB came to dying again, then it is unlikely you'd understand how significant and beneficial Little Orbit has been, and it's clear they are genuine about the effort being put in.
  3. There was always going to be a uphill climb with a massive shadow over little orbit, They may be new but they're still not going to get a lot of leniency. But anyone that has played over 3 years can judge for themselves the progress made... which is saying a lot because the only progress Gamerfirst did before was rush the ports releases which i'd argue is practically NO progress at all. I pleased to see changes that the game deserves but this doesn't mean I'm not critical still. Although nice to have interaction with staff, the holiday events so far have felt Quantity over Quality. Either the OP is barking up the wrong tree, or is so new to APB that they wouldn't be able to see what Little Orbit has achieved. Even if it is a little and with SO much more needing to be done, It cannot be denied what LO has done is saved APB from a second shutdown.
  4. You created this forum account just this month... How long have you played APB and what do you know of Little Orbit because If you've been with APB longer than 3 year then you'd know there's no need to panic and APB was just saved from dying.
  5. Pretty much this, You don't want to mix up Rank with Role level. Weapon roles are only needed to unlock the mods but you can use them I believe without the weapon role level reached, However Most mods have a minimum total character rank with contacts to use them. Check the of the individual mod for details of what is the minimum required rank. APB DB says Rank 40 is needed.

    PS4 Update?

PC players have been waiting for an engine upgrade since about 2013 which would fix overall performance and the stability of the game. Console ports have only been out for under 2 years and Little Orbit only took over in may last year so it hasn't been a year for them yet.
  7. I have no idea what GamersFirst were thinking giving HMS to a gun without a scope... We already had the Act Gold Marksman.
  8. By last Sunday I had to accept and acknowledge that I couldn't get the last achievement with my work schedule even if the population levels were ok. It feels very much like this event was going on the assumption that people most people work a 9-5 job and with weekends off, Which maybe the case but who is the target market of this game and what is their time availability like? But for a lot of people that's not the case and work longer hours, or have multiple jobs, travel time and other personal commitments are factors. There is not enough hours in the day and the community's world doesn't revolve around APB even if Little Orbit's professional world mostly does! Indeed the Slayer title if for the hard core completionists but that doesn't mean those that didn't get the title aren't completionists. The time frame was ok but population levels and what the population is generally doing in game are not a constant. My last criticism is that again the event had 3 teams... PLEASE DON'T MAKE THIS A FREQUENT HABIT! The server population levels low and it makes the minimum game start requirement higher, Team mate numbers are lower while the total number of opponent is higher. It's nice to have a challenge but if it's going to be every holiday event then it's just feel try hard and sometimes a luck draw of what teammates you get.
  9. Gamersfirst said that we would get an Engine Upgrade in Q1 2014... PC still on Unreal Engine 3.0 since 2008, PlayStation and Xbox run on Unreal Engine 3.5! Wait in line!

    |GAME| - chat filter

The forum can be viewed by anyone without the need to log into an account and I do not think this part of the GamerFirst site has Age Verification. In game the NPC say swear words most of the time as explications, You need an account to get in game so why need a chat filter for a game when you're shooting other players?
  11. Wishing everyone a happy new year and all the good games.
  12. GMs are chosen by staff members so you'd probably better off going straight to either MattScott or Lixil, Not sure if that's part of Lixil's role though. Personally I question the SPCM program as before when applying under G1 it felt like you had to be squeaky clean and couldn't be critical of G1. While I more than happy to hop servers to help new comers and give them advice on where they could improve, or give suggestions about alternative items to try. It felt like it wasn't worth applying for if it meant that one couldn't express criticism. I admit I feisty but It's purely out of loving passion for APB and wanting to see it improve after so many years. But it was just easier to help people on my own terms as I am without a title. The new SPCT diversity gives me new hope though. Back on topic. I think the Refer A Friend's program would be really good but to reward new account. Under GamersFirst, It felt like it was trying to bribe existing users to get their friends to join. New players get an incentive and a little gift for joining. Personally If given the option, If I genuinely believed and felt like I could wholeheartedly recommend APB then I don't need a reward when I got another friend to play along side with in a game that I love! Others may want an incentive or reward for doing a good thing for the community and gamer overall, then that's understandable too.
  13. Yeah I know where to find Mixer, Twitch and Youtube if I wanted to watch others playing on xbox. Last time I check, this wasn't none of those sites, After so many years I am asking myself why I waited another year Unreal Engine 3.5 when 4.0 has been out for just under half a decade. You're a Comedian, what am I waiting for? Brexit?!
  14. While I have a lot of respect for what enthusiasm and hard work Little Orbit has done, their results have been mixed and frankly I don't care for time limited events that are bugged on the first day. I like a lot of other people don't want to hear "We are so close..." Sorry but I have little patience for Little Orbit learning on the job after so many years or "Soon™", I don't want to hear that it's nearly done, I want to to see actual progress!

    PVE servers?

Having AI for practice is one thing but having a good AI that can replicate different play styles and tactics takes a lot of coding and ages to develop. Now having an AI to compensate for low population numbers would have even worse results as the maps, mission objectives and overall game was never designed for PvE compatibility in mind. Again time developing an AI that can understand interactive objects, objective requirements would take longer than just finishing all engine upgrades and getting population numbers up with good PR and marketing. I suspect the single hardest issue for APB AI would be the concepts of vehicles, driving and how the game mechanics change in game then. How do you teach a bot that you can't shoot a gun when you're behind the wheel of a car, or that a car cannot just run sideways! How will the bot even know when it's in a car? GTA has always been PvE with NPC that are build into the very foundation of the games for years over multiple games, APB has only had very limited NPC real world interactions. Thinking about it, The NPC scripts for pedestrians and vehicle drivers surely are different as NPC taken out of cars just simply despawn. Another issue would be the range of guns and gun mods and how they all behave differently Unless the bots all uses a select number of stock weapons, you're going to get some rather comical results.
  16. It maybe a bit dated but it's the minimum requirement for consoles. Regardless APB's current Unreal Engine 3.0 need to be upgraded to 3.5 before it can be upgraded further. For best results, new content and features should be added after when the game engine and code is more stable and easier to work with. Shit or no, it's needed.
  17. Little Orbit must adhere to each concerning country's respected regulations where applicable. What each government does, what capacity there is for international transactions and what types of currency used is not on Little Orbit to compensate for. Honestly while it may save some money from not having to do a currency exchange, It's not going to change the value of the product or EDG
  18. Give it a couple of minutes as the server may think you're still logged in despite the client side not so. If you're still logged in after about 5 minutes then send a customer support ticket.
  19. In 3 weeks, you only really had an hour window of opportunity a day and they were scheduled. Some players blocked others from winning by despite requests by GMs to yield to others. Also there were a few boarderline game breaking bugs. in 1 night APB crashed for me 2 times, the second computer crash forced me to do a total system restart. People were pissed(whining) because all of this should of been preventable. And when there was issues were found, Little Orbit wanted to continue with the event rather than working on a hotfix/patch or making a statement what can be done (or not). More GM activity for more chances to win was really the only mitigation? ....because adding more fuel is how you fight fire with fire? Anyway, what done is done and lessons were learnt.
  20. At first I wasn't sure but over the past 2 days, I found myself saying to myself actually this is pretty fun. No complaints about the daily activities, My only constructive criticism is that this Slay bells had more than 2 teams again and with the server populations so low, at times it has been just 2 people on 1 team vs everyone else. Match making is not at all problem as people will join in when they can, but it is a shallow player pool which makes for thinner teams and a greater opposition in total despite being balanced. Some will like this more greater competitive game play, some will just not care and wanting to have fun with snowball fights, and some may feel it's a bit harsh. Personally I'm kinda in middle. More than 2 team is a fun and competitive idea, but it may not be practical at times.
  21. I thought you two were being smart asses or trolling and just left.
  22. In game I have experienced micro stuttering and jittering of my character animation but gameplay was ok. No issue with loading -edit- Just went into beacon for first time, I stand corrected. Lag and frame rate fluctuation there and even the audio is clicking and tearing.
  23. Haven't played today yet but 2 days ago I did have quite the jittering character movement, not others... my own which is unusual. Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @2.83GHz with a Nvidia GTX 760. Yes my computer is turning 8 years old and I'll be building a new one once my inheritance comes through. ...can't help but think how ironic it is that my current computer is actually probably more optimised for APB's code than my next computer!
  24. You should know that 1 word replies can be considered as spam, not trying to back seat mod but come on man... try to put some more effort in your post. Back on topic. I have to agree that the first day was a bit of a waste, but I'm not sure if it would be justified.
