  1. Of course Master! To be honest, I didn't see Matt's latest post before posting here so I wasn't aware that the delay to the schedule was quite as much as it seems. Still I'm sure Matt has roughly a target but one would hope that EU3.5 wouldn't take another year before release to live. "A month or so"/"Next month or two" isn't a firm time span but we didn't post that with the intention of building up hype or causing misinformation. The point remains that it would not be wise of the OP to upgrade hardware to accommodate for APB in it's current form when it's about to get it's game engine replaced.
  2. Working that weekend with evening shifts but I should be back by 10pm at the latest, I'd rather listen to Discord but rather not talk with microphone.
  3. Unreal Engine 3.5 is hoped to come sometime within a month's time, It's REALLY unrecommended to alter your hardware at this time based on current APB requirements as this engine upgrade will significantly alter the game's performance and requirements. The new game engine may be optimised to the point of being more efficient on the CPU and GPU than the current game engine. For this reason you may find your current CPU would actually be reasonable to continue using! You probably already have but consider if your graphics card is older and more of a bottle neck than the CPU. consider the hardware demands of other games you may play. It is advisable to continue keeping an eye out for changes in CPU prices, but hold off buying a new CPU just for now for the next month or two till the new engine is released and the bugs and glitches are worked out. Hope this helps and all the best with the PC upgrades
  4. Premium membership is something that is rolling non-stop even when logged out, a lootbox doesn't really make up for time lost.
  5. First off... Now you got me hungry! I feel that there is 2 possible ways to perceived the holiday events done by Little Orbit last year: Possible Little Orbit may of become overly excited and got carried away after Epidemic event was a successful Halloween and then went on to do Autumn Assault and Slay Bells. What I think actually happened though is Little Orbit just decided to try a Staff interactive event at the worst time inbetween holidays, with a format that just wasn't going to work as intended and it comes across wrongly in my opinion. While people want new content, I think the community overall was more wanting to see and hear that Little Orbit cared and was going to make changes for the better. But of course you can't please all the people all of the time, likewise give some people an inch and they'll take a mile. I too voted for getting the engine upgrade done, but I didn't think GamersFirst would cut nearly all interaction and cancelling pre-existing event that were rerun years before. The Engine Upgrade is probably the number 1 outstanding thing on the to-do list followed by threat system rework. FormerGamersFirst dangled a carrot over our noses. One can't blame them for Racing District banners left in from RTW, but APB:Vendetta, APB:Retrobution, One does have to question where their priorities were. But as always the Engine Upgrade should be coming shortly. But with an undefined period of time, It just as well be indefinite still and that's the kicker for a lot of people is we just got to take Little Orbit's word after FormerGamersFirst just used it.
  6. Not sure if you saw something that I did but on that point, one can't blame a person for wanting to not continue on with a game with a cheater but I think it's down to the team's overall digression if they're going to refuse continuation. If a person stopping trying despite a cheat obviously in play, if the second team member does wish to continue then there is nothing to say that he can't make that report. Just because a game of football/soccer is resulting in your team losing 0 - 3, doesn't mean it's ok for you to just give up on your team. It's rather unsporting. If the team is in agreement to just stop in protest then that's completely fine! I'm sorry @Delator to say that this discussion may unfortunately become a metaphorical blind leading the blind without any visual reference to give context. It may be just as much up for debate what we saw, as much as what punishment hypothetically should be. The discussion of what punishment would the community would give can't really be done without knowing to what happened, judgement of what rules were broken and what punishment would be fitting can't be formed without context!
  7. Yes we wanted something after 3 years of nothing... I mean in the last year, GamerFirst even cancelled some holiday events. But the Epidemic event in October, followed by Autumn Assault in November, and then Slay Bells in December. Not too much of a good thing? Were potential points of improvements learnt from Epidemic event within a month before Autumn Assault? Just my personal opinion that when an Engine Upgrade was announced in 2013, It may be for the best to get a crack on with it now it's 2019.
  8. Ok so 1 person of a 2 person team is just lingering out in front of their opponents deliberately in a way in attempt to get themselves kills is potentially game throwing. The Team Kill at the end seems to be a deliberate act which can't be coincidental. It's a act which can cause their team mate to dethreat, wasting everyone's time, and it's an exploit which can lead to this individual later having an unfair advantage against lower threat players. Game throwing like that to dethreat would be a ban although i'm not sure for how long.
  9. The Cap 40 Sargent and Colby Commander are the only 2 guns in APB that have piercing mod. Is it really a frequent threat? The flip side of the coin is that people can jump kick open doors to avoid being shot, unintended but kept in game too.
  10. After waiting for something that was promised to be released 4 years ago, One surely can be understanding of the feeling restless over it. Sorry but I too am losing patience. The Engine Upgrade is an intangible entity to the APB community, everyone can agree is needed but is left lingering as a pipe dream.
  11. I told my friends NOT to cite my name when I referred them to APB as I was anticipating ban waves because of RAF's exploitation. Why not just reward newcomers for joining? A new exclusive gun variant or armas vehicle should not be needed as an incentive or as the final deciding factor to refer someone! If someone believes APB is genuinely good enough to recommend to a friend, then is there a need for a reward after getting to play with that friend in a game that you enjoy? I am still am and may always will be bitter over getting nothing for not exploiting Refer a Friend and actually referring someone without using it, while everyone else gets to keep their rewards despite GamerFirst admitting it was exploitation... Which is against their own rules! The cynic in me says I'd rather give the reward to new members who were referred, then have a bribe which is open to be abused. ...Sorry but it was an injustice and GamerFirst admits it and did no further action despite they allowed it. -back on topic- Currently the only promotion is the Alienware car promo but it's limited in quantity, There is a start pack on Steam but that's a premium pack which needs to be paid for... Really the only thing encourage people to join APB is existing APB users and people judging APB based on it's own merits as it is.
  12. I watched his last video when he was streaming it live, I was in chat. That was only 2/3 days ago.
  13. What it could be is that staff are monitoring this person in question's accounts and still collecting evidence to have definitive proof that he is cheating, this would result in a ban to all accounts he has. Little Orbit's approach to APB is to take their time but in doing so, they are being more thorough and accurate in the actions taking.
  14. As a person willing to act as a mentor or coach, I am disappointed that there is no system for any other player to act as chaperone to new players. While role models should be checked in their ability, verified to have genuinely good intentions and maybe having quality control checks to prevent abuse; The SPCM (if to return) as a concept seems limited in capability/capacity and how open and accepting are applications remain intangible. But that's just a view from the outside. @MattScott Just my 2 cents for food for thought. Anyway back on topic: Taking advice from eSports players from other games, Every loss is an opportunity to reflect on where lessons could be learnt and improve overall. APB can feel toxic but that is a mix of number of factors, half of the battle one's on head to remember that you are playing against other people and that just because you can't see their faces or hear their voices doesn't mean they're all being harsh and trying to ruin your fun. Without some level of grounding, it is easy to become desensitised and dehumanise other players without some reference to the person behind the character. An example of this would be new players feeling there is a great number of hacker in game than there actually is. Although uncommon, it could potentially leads to overly competitiveness and taking the game too seriously in developing disdain to opposing factions. My personal outlook in life is that to get the most out of anything, you need to acknowledge the flaws for what they are even if others don't want to admit it or may be perceived as taboo, Constructive Criticism then can be made in a fair and open mind. I too am more than happy to offer guidance on Jericho or Citidel on how to get the most of your weapons, cars and character mods; areas of improvement and how to change an outlook in game.
  15. To say Player Versus Environment would imply the game would provide a opponent. The word "Versus" means against / opposed to. If you're Mugging as person, they're not going to put up much resistance. Heck a shop being ramraided doesn't even move, let alone try to fight back against the player! That is not an opposition. If RamRaiding is PvE, then so is shooting a car till it blows up! Player Versus Environment is if the game has Non-Player Characters / Bots that actually put up an opposition, actively fighting back against the player and attacking them. This is where language and context matters. PvE in APB would mean that some mission would replace players with bots in matched games, this would be a drastic change to most of the game. "i called it pve becous there is no opposition" So you're not suggesting adding Non Player Character / Bots to be put in place instead of a player which would be aggressive? Now you did use another word. More work on game mechanics and open world interactive features would be welcomed. --- Without "PvE" content for enforcers, I don't find myself being sympathetic towards your arguments. I am trying to get my Cop rank up on my second character, but the only way to do that is to use Less than Lethal to get Arrests. These are stuff that are not strict part of the game, these are objectives we have set to ourselves and APB has no reason to compensate or cater to what we challenge ourselves or each other.
  16. As a Enforcer primarily I face palmed so had that I just broke my nose! What "PvE" content is there for us enforcers? collecting items/cars that criminals stole and abandon to return to contacts before heading to the bank/evidence vault. ...that's it... There simply is NO "PvE" content for enforcers at all. APB from conception was ALWAY intended tonnes PvP but the so called PvE as just open world catalyst to encourage unscripted and random PvP gameplay. What you call "PvE" I'd call Open-world Dynamic Gameplay. mugging a NPC or ramraiding isn't really a mission, objective or quest. forgive me but I'm currently on a bus to work, and don't have time to read all the posts but hope to when I get home tonight.
  17. PvE to compensate for low population levels making WaterFront empty has been suggested a few times. It would be easier and quicker to just finish the Unreal Engine 3.5, then do promotions and public relations to try and raise awareness of APB and get new players Developing a NPC/AI/bots to work within APB would take years to do, then testing and bug fixes would take even more months.
  18. Looking at the teams... The bronze for 3 kills with 5 deaths but with 2 medals. At that rank, I'd have to believed that character is a reroll and not a main character/new player and used to be a silver threat account.
  19. Really, what gave you that feeling?
  20. I'm going to say no because it's a fad on the way out.
  21. While the gaming industry got a bad rep which some of them deserved, gamers were not given an proportionate portrayal as "won't somebody think of the children". Meanwhile no one gives a notice or a damn about the mobile game market with premium currency, pay wall - cool down timers and even more lootboxes. The same marketing and business practices are being used with kids from 3 to 10 - A lot of newer members to APB seem to not realise how outstanding or significant of a priority the EU3.5 is. I whole heartedly agree with this. The season pass felt rewarding. It is said that it's not the delivery that feels rewarding, but dopamine released in anticipation. Question is if Little Orbit/Gamerfirst keep to such a commitment when user basically pre-purchase.
  22. New players accuse APB of being pay to win... After EA's Battlefront 2, why the fuck would you want a new Loot box each year? We already have over 20!
  23. If you think you could reverse engineer a aimbot or triggerbot within half a year then maybe you should consider applying for a position as a staff member with Little Orbit. I mentioned vaccines and viruses before because you kinda need to look at them that way. A vaccine only work for the few month/years before the virus evolves. There are people out there that develop these software for a living, and they would try to improve the cheats. Actively changing the cheat's coding as they probe and learn from the game's defences. After so many years, APB still gets DDoS...
  24. ...Well yeah... Because Battle Eye is still being configured and Little Orbit are trying to collect data from the cheaters so Battle Eye can better detect and prevent cheating. But to create a vaccine, you need a samples of the virus. And for best results, multiple samples and repeats are needed.
  25. Sorry but this is one of those times when the solution is rather disproportionate to the problem. I could give a 10 year old lego mindstorm which is just an arduino and take them to make a trigger bot, a colour sensor positioned in the in line with a cross hair and then a robotic finger attached to second mouse left button 1... It's really one of those things which is just easier to let staff try and develop better detection of such triggerbot software, rather than putting development into a countermeasure which may still need a GM to operate as you suggested. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."
