Because anyone good for the position is also smart enough to realise the downsides of it.

That pretty much sums it for the most I'm afraid. Some of the decent people will apply, just out of the love for APB, but most won't because it's too much of a bother/burden/whatnot.

While I'm willing to help people when I have time, I do have the time very rarely and want to spend at least some of it playing the game instead of being a walking FAQ search engine.

As Lixil clarified, the player GM'S she will be selecting will NOT have the full-reign that previous GM'S had...

They will basically act as the new SPCM (San Paro city Mentors).

I wanted to throw in my two cents on a few members who would fit the position .

-members with long-standing, clean records

-who are and have been continually active for many many years

-nonconfrontational, level-headed people

-positive, helpful people

-Sadira

Always available. Everyone knows Sadira. She is nice.

https://forums.gamersfirst.com/profile/472-sadira/

-Revoluzzer

Arguably the longest standing member of the community who has continuously been active on the forums all these years.

https://forums.gamersfirst.com/profile/1058-revoluzzer/

Bellenettiel-

extremely positive person with one of the highest post counts. Very nonconfrontational and level-headed

Genobee-

Can't remember a time when Genobee wasn't around.

Anyone else think of any people who would be particularly good for the position? (Don't nominate yourself.)

I would support all of these 😃 people.  Anytime I held any kind of Community Event, these guys have participated and assisted.  Good ladies and gentlemen all around.

Hey trinity!

I would've included you on my recommended list, but you hadn't joined the forums yet and wasn't sure if you were active anymore.

(Trinityrising  was assigned by tiggs to helped run/host community contests in the past and has always been helpful and nice.)

I would have applied, if there was some form of notice here in the main Forum area, and I wasn't busy.

There was a notice if you regularly check the admin tracker tho.

There is a single name that dont belong there.

Keep in mind that while the people you mention in this thread might be good for the position, it doesn't mean they will be picked.
Our selection process will be unbiased. I commend the effort that went into making these lists, but ultimately, the last word belongs to the people in charge.

I hope.

I too, had thought seriously, about submitting my application.

I found myself twice, ready to hit the send button.

As I pondered this conflict internally, I happened to be watching a re-run of the Jerry Springer Show.

Well, that was it for me.

Yes, I walked away ...

As much as I would like to participate with the progress development of this game (and I do feel this way very strongly),

I do not believe that my patience would have lasted more than 2-3 months.

I am a fair and tolerant person, but LO needs a GM more than just fair & tolerant.

My hats off & Kudos to our community members that did apply,

and for those that are chosen.

Here are my picks:

Trinity rising

AnneArkey

WingedArc

MonteJr

Indianola(maybe, he's a really chill guy when you get to know him)

Also, to those select few who are terrified that I'm secretly applying for GM, I'm not. I don't have the time for it at all.

My 2 cents: try to pick people who are fluent in more than just one language.

Players who struggle most with the game are often those who also struggle with english.

I'd rather the applicants get approved based on competence and not popularity. If you can have both, that's great. As an ex-SPCM I can tell you that this new program has the advantage of less negative stigma in the air. It was hard to get taken seriously as an SPCM by anything other than newer players and in my experience the frustration was taken out on me and most likely other SPCMs, since we had a "connection" to G1. I was either spammed with troll questions to waste my time or just straight up harassed multiple times. The SPCMs I worked with were all very commited but I think over time this sort of stuff really demotivated us.

However, this new program is coming from LO which has already done good for the community and keeps hope growing. With this new atmosphere surrounding the game I believe I can reach alot more players more effectively, which is why I applied.
