I think it's time to remove deployable shields.
VickyFox replied to CommandantSteele's topic in Game
The HVR is a hard weapon to balance as it's meant to do high damage and very accurate. You said it yourself that low walls which cover the hit box provides cover, but that as a issue is something that affects the map and not just shields. Maybe movement from cover could have more bloom reworked for snipers too, I don't know. Deplayable shields are just that... a shield and can provide very good strategic options. Ok a few things could be reworked but jumping with medium items or dropping and picking up large items to help a player move faster is another issue. I don't know what G1 were thinking with car surfer! Blocking passages with shields could be done with any deployable if it's the right size. It may be frustrating but an exploit is something which gives an unfair advantage, something like putting a bag out of bounds. There needs to be a level of consideration for player's ingenuity and adaptability. I would suggest that all deployables have a equip time cool down just like when you pull out a gun or reload. -
I think that the colour pink doesn't give a serious enough reflection for players of the highest threat. Little Orbit I believe has the intention to add colour blind mode for APB once the engine upgrade is live. Platinum could be used as a light blue.

Previous anticheats wrongfully flagged suspicious computer applications. Fair Fight is server side rather than client side so it struggle to tell the difference between a marco and a really good player, as do you it seems. How many people do you think are cheating right now? lets say 10%? 10% of 10% wouldn't get banned... yeah 1% of 500 players is 5 players, so less than 1 per server physical server. Terror is right. it was a challenge for people to reroll into new accounts, and it was a achievement to some when they get banned multiple times while causing grief to other players in game. Some of them posted videos of them doing it on youtube proudly. ...I'm sorry if you don't feel reassured but you don't need verification and these trolls do not need to be fed any more attention. Personally I feel that asking for numbers of bans to be published isn't a bad or detrimental idea but a bit of a mute point if you're suspicious of current anticheat, If you don't think it's effective then why do you think the number would be reassuring.

Google or using the onsite search bar is probably a good place for you to get familiar with then. ...so the driver can't die but the passenger can, yet the passenger can't climb in or out of the vehicle? It's these reasons why it wasn't added before, you can't shoot people in cars even through glass windows. The hitbox was the main reason why they were never added before. You can't shoot the rider but the moment he gets off you can shoot him dead doesn't make much sense or good gameplay.

For the life of me I found bundles with cars, clothing and guns the most confusing. I believe the Vegas Rocker Bundle is the 4th most expensive bundle on armas that contains guns, clothing and a vehicle. Dressed to Kill Enforcer/Criminal Bundle: 5034 - 1 clothing, 1 gun, vehicle and vehicle kit... Juggernaut Strike Pack: 4999 - Account bound, 3 guns, 5 gun skins, vehicle, vehicle kit, 1 clothing and a lot of eye sore! Pack of Revelations Pass: 4999 - Account bound, 4 clothing, 5 guns, 5 gun skins, vehicle and 4 vehicle kits... although there is an argument to be made if they're actually 4 different kits or 1 kit made up by 4 partial kits. Vegas Rocker Bundle w/Vegas Rhino 4x4: 4436 - 1 clothing, 1 gun, vehicle and kit, Enforcer/Criminal Heavy Duty Bundle: 4190 - 1 clothing, 1 gun, vehicle and vehicle kit. The Vegas Rocker Kit doesn't include the actual Patriot Vegas 4x4, which is not unique but the price was still higher than some entire bundles. Most bundles include the actual vehicle and are priced about the same or higher... but the Vegas Rocker Bundle w/Vegas Rhino 4x4 has the following content: Rhino kit, 4x4 Vegas, Tas 40 and Rocket clothing kit. Without Premium it is 4436 G1c, and 3549 G1c with a Premium 20% discount. The Enforcer/Criminal Halloween Complete Bundle Which includes the Firehawk Kit, Vegas 4x4, Rocket clothing pack, ISSR-a Artemis assault rifle, plus the Punk clothing pack (valued 1113) and still ends up cheaper at 3432 before premium. Compared to the Halloween Complete Bundle, The Vegas Rocker Bundle is still more expensive EVEN WITH the Premium discount and less content. --- @MattScott There are 4 Armas products that I feel should have their prices reviewed and a couple others to consider: I believe that the Dressed to Kill Enforcer/Criminal Bundle is disproportionately overvalued at 5034 G1c. This was a shockingly bad considering Dressed to Kill are Character Bound when there are the Juggernaut Strike Pack and Pack of Revelations Pass costing 4999 G1c, both including at least 2 more guns, 5 gun skins as well as all contents being account wide. By chance I noticed that the Urban Warfare Packs were unevenly priced between the 2 faction variants. The Armored Urban Warfare Pack is the Enforcer version priced at 3343 G1c, The Criminal version of this pack is the Impact Urban Warfare Pack but is priced 2895 G1c. Again I would ask if both of Urban Warfare Packs If the price are fair considering ATAC 424 Watchman included is a 30 day lease and not Character Lifetime long. And back to the original poster's topic. With the Vegas Rocker Bundle w/Vegas Rhino 4x4 costing 4436 G1c, it is on the higher end of where it should be I feel. However the Vegas Rocker Kit priced at 2269 G1c. When you consider it consists of shotgun, clothing pack and a vehicle kit without the vehicle, It doesn't seem so bad; The G-Force Race Packs at 2,589 G1c includes a car but no gun. Not sure how others value a car compared to a gun, but I think the car would be of higher value and so this seems fair more or less. ...and in from the left field the High Roller Bundle, ironically the cheapest bundle including a clothing pack, a car with full body kit and gun at 2241 G1c, just though i'd mention that.

APB 2 graphic - please dont do this

Can we let LO iron out the bugs and optimize the new game engine before we start critiquing them on aesthetics of the shaders. -
Citadel.

After dominating most of the game, I've had bronze run away with a hold item on the final round because it's the only way for them to win. While it is frustrating, I'd rather take the moral victory than restrict gameplay.

I agree with Cookie, With previous experience with RAF... such a hypothetical may not yield much better results. We could throw all the hypothetical in the world at the wall but to what benefit? Maybe it's better not to hypothesize about something that is divisive.

are we getting new gear on armas soon ?
VickyFox replied to TzickyT's topic in General Discussion Archive
As others have said, it's not new for NPCs in APB and it has had been suggested before. Really not sure why it isn't a clothing item released yet. -
Unfortunately if you want a gym membership, a season ticket for transport or renting a apartment. Time doesn't stand still just because you're not using a service you are paying for. If premium was to only active while online, then I think Little Orbit may have to raise the price of premium and lower it's reward rates in JMBs to offset the less frequent premium purchases. I don't think it is wrong or a bad idea, but Little Orbit is a business which needs to be able to pay for it's staff, rent, tax, ETC.

its time for new contact ( not engine update )
VickyFox replied to Donjae's topic in General Discussion Archive
My memory isn't want it used to be and I'm losing count of the years but what is different about this year that is any different from the past 3, 4, or 5 years? People said that APB would of died 4 years ago before little orbit took over, people said APB would of died 3 years ago when they did take over and didn't know what they were doing. I can name a person who claimed that RIOT would be the the very thing that would kill off APB. We've heard it all before... we've all been waiting for so long, tired, fed up, cynical, jaded, and some even distrusting of Little Orbit I admit that the longer this goes on, the less easier it is to keep track of what exactly is going on, but we don't need you broadcasting something we have known longer than you have. Do everyone a favor, your pessimism is demoralising and of no help to anyone. It's not helping the community in keeping confidence or remaining calm, and the last thing staff need if a sense of pressure or expectation when they already know how long we waited and pissed off we are! I am really stepping out of line for saying this but if you want APB to carry on then do that, calm down, keep calm and carry on. If you are that hopeless then maybe you should have a break for in a few weeks. Or just don't, go live your life, no one would think any less of you for moving on. -

There is nothing stopping you from doing something else right now. -
The concern of bankruptcy has been said more a few years now. If APB is on a course for bankruptcy then like a boat, it can't just do an emergency stop with little client and sales numbers. It's too complicated for me to understand a third of the issues being worked on. Having an unfinished engine would be worse gaming experience than what we got now, it would only drive further people away from APB. The issues being worked on are not something that can be added on a weekly basis, finding bugs and solutions are sadly just not going to happen that quickly. MattScott said he wants to get the Engine Upgrade live as quick as possible, and some feature such as other languages can be worked on and added later. We are just not at that point yet to go live.
-
For the game to become greater, a lot of the problems actually come from the engine itself. It is something that has been talked about since 2014 and half a decade later, it is still being worked on, the problem is that newer computers run worse than older computers, newer content and features would be easier to make and run after the upgrade. Yes APB feel like it is stale and stagnant, but as much as we want new content... the work that needs to be done cannot be kept delayed year after year.
-
Unfortunately it's the usual from me. It would be a good idea but only after the Engine Upgrade, only for consistency in computer performance as it would be competitive. Last thing anyone wants midway through a tournament is to have some shots not register a hit properly or micro stuttering.

Financial and Waterfront maps are about 1.5km wide, Snipers are hard to keep balanced in game with damage and all the trick shots. Sniper rifles are not such a problem in Fortnight and PUBG because weapon type, quality and location are random with some chests giving a higher chance. In APB, weapons are not spawned or dropped in the map, you either own them... or you don't!

Considering UE3.0 should be more versatile, it may support additional features that 2.5 can't. Even if they start creating stuff in advanced for the engine upgrade, they can't try out and test the new content because the engine itself isn't ready to be tested! A lot of people have speculated and it would not be a great surprise if APB hasn't been making much if any profit since LO took over, but littleOrbit must of known what GamersFirst and APB's financial history before going through with the acquisition. Again this should not be a shock but actually excepted. How long it goes on for is another thing but again, Little Orbit is a business and should be preemptive. -
APB Reloaded Code of Conduct and Policies: If you are throwing a game waste everyone's time and may affect other team member's threat. Dethreating is the act of playing in such a bad way that the game will lower the player's threat level, this circumnavigate threat segregation and to be matched with lower threat opponents I think most people would agree it is a loophole that hasn't been fixed yet because the issue would mean rework possibly both the threat system and the match making system... However there are plans for "Phasing" matchmaking and districts to be localised rather than based on threat.

https://www.polygon.com/2013/10/18/4852838/apb-reloaded-receiving-massive-engine-upgrade-in-2014 When newer computer actually run the game worse than older computer because APB is so old, there is inherently problem. PC users have been waiting for fixes longer than consoles had APB... Over half a decade! Wait in line.

GamersFirst absolutely could of made new content for the new contacts but would rather use new content for Armas content like the Juggernaut pack, I think unforuntately though the reason behind it was less about making profits and more about staying financially stable as time went on. Although how finished in design were the contacts is another issue Are you really that skeptical? Tell me again what rock it was? -
Feedback on East/West addition
VickyFox replied to Farbon Ciber's topic in General Discussion Archive
...So what you're saying things are pretty much the same as they were last month, the difference is there are localised instances now. The new localised instances was the latest move in preparing for the future of APB with phasing being the new way matchmaking is going to be handled. Bare in mind the vision of Little Orbit is to not have coloured threat districts and rather localised districts and the game with match up players by threat automatically. As for population and waterfront, yeah nothing has changed there in the past 2 years. It may feel diluted with new instances but I believe Little Orbit will be putting out new content and effort in attracting new players after the Engine Upgrade Previous media and advertising campaigns have given a rather short burst of new players. But because APB is overall does looks old compared to other modern games, and gameplay experience has been a steep learning curve as well as uninviting, not a great number of new players have stayed. It has been a running chicken and egg debate of whether should effort be focused trying to up the population numbers and the issues surrounding them or fixing APB and finishing the Engine Upgrade. -
You are absolutely right! ...but also technically incorrect. Thinking off the top of my head, I can't recall any instance of when the correct term of Suppressor is used in APB at all. But suppressors are cool!
