  1. Try playing on a server based in the US while living in Europe.
  2. The STAR is the new player's stock standard weapon as it teaches you to make every bullet count as it's not the fastest fire rate, but that slowed down fire rate also can be helpful in making sure you have the time to land those shots properly. The Ntec is the game's base line standard. It's jack of all trade, master of none. Capable in most situations but not over powered. Overall it is a good starting point as from there you can get a feel of most other guns. If you want to play for fun and have a good time then maybe a use a SMG or Atac but don't go calling yourself a good player so quickly, these guns are forgiving in nature towards their user. If you want to become a good player then I'd suggest getting your hands on Joker Carbine and practice tap firing, Knowing how to control your tap firing is a very beneficial habit to have with most guns, including some fully automatic guns. I personally wouldn't suggest using a HVR when starting out due to it's accuracy and range, it can be detrimental at close range if you are not comfortable with quick reactionary movement. Jump sniping is cheesey but one cannot deny that it works in close quarters. But you need to be able to do multiple actions at once very quickly and you need to have a good aim. -edit- I should also say that you should try and experiment with different gun mods, It's hard to get a feel of the pros and cons. Check the description and if you're not sure what something means then don't be afraid to ask.
  3. I made a long post post but actually I'm taking it back because I am sick and tired of being painted with the same board paint brush as other veteran players who are genuinely toxic and couldn't give less of a shit. Either way better players are getting punished for being better players regardless if they are the culprits of stomping on new players or not.
  4. I realise for some, they'll sooner die than change their ways but what else are we suppose to do. Segregating threats doesn't stop buttholes form being buttholes!
  5. ...well having a argument this heated with yourself isn't exactly what most people would do. I know I'm not a good player but then again i'd rather not be a try hard, saying that I think both sides need to be proportionate. I realise it is a incredibly unfair learning curve, but what anyone expect with over half a decade's more experience and another player. It was never going to be a fair game then so it's not something to take to heart. There are unfortunately a lot of vet who are too happy to gloss over the upset they cause others, I'm not saying they're mostly toxic but I would say they could be more considerate and showing more sportsmanship to fellow players regardless of experience. Little Orbit certainly does have to fix the threat determining system and then rework the match making, for a fair number of years there has been a sore newer players reporting that APB feels unfair; But there is the chicken and the egg situation of what is more important: Fixing and APB for all players and making the game more easier to repair further but the abuse towards new players continues, or reworking and fixing the match making and threat system so new player do not get bullied... but APB may not be stable and it delays upgrades that have been delayed countless times for years. There is the genuinely toxic people who are just there because they can be and it is sad that they have to turn to the internet for reasons. These people don't reflect what APB is or should be. Of course I'm not going to say there are not cheaters or macros, but they are far and few between. I wouldn't say they are common. Do Macros hurt a player's chance... mmmmm Yes and no, It is lazy and while the macro user gets an advantage, it is also a disadvantage that they are not practicing using the weapon themselves fully so it can make their abilities lessen in the long run. Regardess it is still lazy and using third party software that has a direct input to the game which shouldn't be allow ever. --- TL;DR: Personally I believe a middle ground is needed, Most people can understand why less experienced players feel hurt when they do not get the a fair chance from the beginning and personally as a veteran, I feel punished for being in APB longer and having spent years getting to level of experience. The flip side of the coin is that new players should not just give up and to find lessons to be learnt where they can improve, It is unfair but Was there a mistake made and was there an alternative that could of given a better outcome. Veterans should show more good sportsmanship because we've all been that new player before. It may be a game on the internet, but that shouldn't be a green light to be a garbage person and if you think it is, then you are - that's reflecting on the person you are and it is pitiful if you feel proud of that.
  6. The Demoness had a bug which made OCAs become invisible. Dark prophecy and Blood moon clothing packs, as well as weapon harnesses were added to Armas... They're not related to any events. Forgive me but I don't understand how somethings have been "prioritised" over others, when they're just as low of a priority in my honest opinion. LO may of forgotten about these last ARG rewards, or everything to do with RIOT is being shelved till after EU. Either way it's not pleasant having a carrot dangled in front of your nose. ...I think I'll leave it at that because sometimes it's just not worth the energy and time.
  7. Gold threats "stomping" on new players is a symptom of the problem that is the broken threat and poor match making systems. It's like complaining about leg pain after breaking it, but only wanting painkillers as if that'll fix it and not going to hospital. I've used this analogy so many times. Fire fighters can try and patch holes a fire hose and increase water pressure but it's a losing battle if the district's water system itself is full of leaks and is broken. Segregating threats is going to lower the player pool, plus match making is still broken so it's a matter of time before dethreating circumnavigates the forced threat lock. Threat level determining system needs to be reviewed, altered or even replaced, how threats are then handled in district which district and by matchmaking will depends on the threat system. There's no point doing a minor repair of something on a foundation that needs replacing.
  8. You mean like adding the Holiday Cheer event with a fairy gun skin with sparkling affect, Demoness gun skin for the Headless Horseman halloween rerun, and the Kabuki skin pack was released on Armas. While I agree it is a very low priority, it doesn't really support it's own weight as an excuse. If everything little thing will only take a couple of minute, I'm sure most people would run out of hours in the day. Sorry, I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm fairly sure most people can understand if and why I am cynical when claims are made by staff on APB and they're not followed through without any update.
  9. All these new forum posts about the high threat player issue for lower threat / new players... Like as if Staff haven't noticed after the past year and countless other threads! Did Sharony want LO to bring back district threats? Google translate didn't serve this original post very well, I would guess a majority of it was rhetorical questions?
  10. -I'm sure those who don't read the forum do so for their own reasons, but if they don't read the forum, something tells me that their feedback given is going to fall on deaf ears if it's given only in game chat. The information is there for them to look it up. The same way they can't argue that they didn't know they broke a rule, when it's on them to read the rules. -Test districts are often empty indeed, "Be the change you want to see in the world" ~ Mahatma Gandhi. As Sakebee said, take the initiative to invite and arrange friends to play together. Maybe make a little competition out of it or something. -Altering and adjusting an entire gun type from week to week in live district is going to confuse players. Not only is it unfair to make the shotgun users guinea pigs, but it affects those who are not using shotguns and are trying to progress their game. Why should it be imposed on everyone for the sake of fine tuning the balance of shotguns? As well as unfair to live district players, test districts are a controlled environment that prevents the rest of the game being broken if 1 gun is unbalanced or if something breaks.
  11. You're kidding right, You want to play against players who have keyboard and mice while you have a controller?
  12. I face palmed so hard that my nose is bleeding You've been around since 2016 so you know what dethreating is and why it's a problem? ...What threat/rank are you if you don't mind me asking?
  13. Yet APB is not thriving like any other game, There are still threads saying new players do not feel welcome. "The worst people on earth not only those who commit evil, but those who stand by and turn a blind eye." ~ Emmanuel Jal. I'm not saying or implying you're evil but again your contribution truly has been invaluable clearly.
  14. That is the most pathetic reason to not give damn. It is the internet and it is a game but right now, how we behave does have an impact on the community as it seems to get smaller in numbers for some reason why. Just because it is a game on the internet is not an excuse to disrespect another players regardless of their skill or skill.
  15. Things sounded promises with G1? Did you leave APB in Q4 of 2014? There no communication from GamersFirst about development for 3 years practically. IT REALLY HASN'T BEEN A PROMISING TIME!
  16. Again I understand that, But one can't expect the social ethos of a community to change just like that. Matt Scott has said that he want to make APB to be less toxic where possible, no more name and shaming, phasing... (whatever that is). The problem is not going to resolve itself by trying to force the community to do what they don't want to do, That's what different threat instances did. When things look bleak, it's better to make the most of it without worrying about consequences, so people just have fun in whatever way they want; Breaking more rules, taking advantage of exploits, being rude and not caring for other players. So give a reason for people to change, give them an incentive to be more of a fair gamer because it's not me you need to convince.
  17. Actually Little Orbit has been here over a year but that is still a long time with GamersFirst. But I agree. While I am sick and tired of waiting, is not going to do anyone any favors getting upset over something that will only be hindered by negativity. The staff at LO have been working hard and the openness about their progress, it does fill one's heart with hope but also a sense of anticipation. Not to dive into politics but I said this about the UK's EU Referendum: What's the alternative to the drastic change in an unknown time frame? The alternative is the status quo. We're are surviving and not in hell yet so need no to act hastily. Let the dev team do their work and I'm sure they will do us proud when the engine is done fully and properly.
  18. I acknowledge there is a steep learning curve and part of that is because of a broken match making and threat rating system that was left unaddressed for too long, but the OP uses it as an excuse to not play... That is their own choice. I'm not trying to be toxic and saying "Get Good" but you don't just bloody give up and blame someone else. I said this before and i'll say it again, "Practice makes perfect? Better go beyond!" If all one does is practice in their comfort zone then let me say congratulations on becoming the perfect bronze! You only improve going to learn if you make mistakes and reflect on them, You don't just give up just because someone is better than you. There is always benefit to take away from a loss.
  19. Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A?
  20. Pretty much what everyone else has said. First step to make work easy is bring all platforms together with the same coding standard. From there any patches in the coding needed can be done altogether rather than working on 2 different versions at different stages of development. Once everything is stable and optimised then work may be done on transitioning to UE 4.0 It has taken half a decade just to get to where we are with Unreal Engine 3.5 let alone 4.0 I'm not saying you're wrong, I would guess at something in the ball park of 10 to 12 years but that's not because of their work speed but rather their volume and capacity of workload.
  21. Thank you for your contribution to this thread. Back on topic, I'd personally I'd just be happy if the game was optimised to a state which is more stable with quicker loading times. A more healthy running game would encourage players to stay especially on console. What I'd like to see is more eye candy with dynamic lighting, I won't lie in saying I was actually excited to hear the bug with the traffic lights was identified and fixed. Also different weather conditions, full day and night cycles. San Paro feels very linear with daytime becoming evening and that's kinda it. Also The ability to toggle all vehicle lights and turning on a dark mode in creative stations to see how cars and outfits look in darker conditions. Sometimes colours in creative stations do not look quite right in normal district environmental lighting let alone in the dark.
  22. I would of said go submit a ticket to customer support however it does say that it will be character bound, not account wide. But with Solamente's receipt, It does make one wonder if Little Orbit changed the pack's status at sometime.
  23. There has been a few exploits in APB's time but this was the biggest and most blatant abuse of a in game system, and GamesFirst were embarrassed to admit it but said the system was in beta so it wasn't their fault and no punishment was ever given because the number of people that did it was so high. Those who did not abuse the system got no reward, and a half hearte... No it was a bullsh!t apology! The only rules were that you can refer only 3 people 1 at a time and removing that friend would lose that referral reward. There was no reward or reason for new players other than the referring friend themselves. Who needs a reason (or R.A.F.) to recommend APB, when they would of anyway if they felt APB was good enough to recommend? It was a bribe! ...Overall I STRONGLY disagree, It was NOT a kickstarter. It didn't give incentive for people to try out APB for the first time, or to continue playing APB after joining. It was an "incentive" for existing players to invite their friends at a reward. And with next to no rules, players referred complete random people in social district as friends! The VBR Temptress and the Obeya CAP40-C NFCP 2 are things not to be proud of.
  24. I'd like to believe that such an obvious thing would not of been an oversight and was factored in.
  25. Every now and then my memory is really good, the rest of the time I need a mirror at the side of my bed to remind myself that i'm not a turnip! It's nice being able to express my opinions feely still though. ...As for the elusive hammer, I don't know anything for fact about that. I would have to guess that if it does exist, then it must be locked away in a safe within a reinforced vault under Little Orbit... Or just resting on Matt Scott's pillow in bed. I want believe the latter, a wholesome thought.
