my assumption is it costs several hundred dollars a month to keep at least 10 instances up at all times they had to sell the ip for cash years ago when the pop was much higher, i doubt things have improved since then

i think you have a very strange definition of lucrative

chaos/anarchy districts need to have objectives otherwise the game mode will be dead in the water like the last 2 times it was run

chaos/anarchy districts were essentially district wide fight club, but the lack of any objective meant players generally ended up trading potshots across the park i still believe if orbit had put a year into polishing that game mode instead of riot, apb would be in a much better place

i'd consider divorcing it entirely from apb - no references, no copied assets or art its better to start clean now than have to go back and change everything (or shut down) once you get hit with a c&d, if your copy ever gets off the ground something something history repeats itself

hilariously bad take just about every player gave riot a chance and there were thousands of constructive feedback posts, the responsibility rests solely on little orbit for dumpstering a year's worth of dev time rather than working to improve it

little orbit no longer owns the ip, so they can't make apb 2 a "spiritual successor" could be made, but it couldn't have any actual connection to apb aside from general mechanics without being sued into oblivion

most ambient apb music was either made by farfletched or re-used songs from the original tracklist (available here or here) there are a few short loops like green planet sorting factory that i dont think are real songs, if its one of those then its probably only ingame

has anyone been dropping dps calculations in this thread? i dont find raw dps all that useful in apb, it only slightly matters for niche stuff like specific av weapons or kevlar

i dont think the nerf was about raw takeout speed, but rather the jg/pig (and the other pig combos) being able to significantly outpace other ltl without giving up lethal options i would have made jg/pig more difficult or risky instead of outright removal, but orbit seems intent on more defined niches for stuff
