  1. To some, if they can, then they should... I still remember playing against someone who exploited a bug that glitched them into a building... fun times... I had a recording of that somewhere, not sure if I can find it. feel like rewatching it.
  2. Player artwork/customization/musical work/fashion. Game's persona. Friends as of 2012 who I've held onto. Constant PvP gameplay Not GTA Online
  3. Is it though? Because I haven't seen this happen that often. If it were god mode... I think it'd be the meta... which it isn't.... I mean, no.... it doesn't work like that.. it removes the delay to regen, and doubles regen speed. Thus... this isn't instant, and still requires any user (kevlar or not) to seek cover to regen. It only gives players more control over when they would start to regen their health. How? I don't want someone to say "fix this" and just say "it needs to be fixed" if you think something is a problem, and you think it needs fixing... please suggest how to fix it. As a studying software engineer... I'd much rather have a problem, and some suggestions as to how the users want it to work. Not the backend for how it's designed, but how the user's end should function... At least give us that... I don't think more people will try "This setup" because it's not as viable as you think it is... but, do go ahead and see how it works out... doubtful it'll work as well as you entertain it to be.
  4. As an IT and Tech Support employee elsewhere .... Have you tried restarting the system? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software? Do you have any audio coming from the game signifying that it's at the main menu? Give those a shot... and see if there's anything else to try....
  5. Since I actually compared my NSSW to an ALIG that a friend was using (both without mods for testing) we found that that ALIG did more damage per shot, though I believe the NSSW's rof was slightly (measureable but not significant) faster... So an ALIG probably would be a better choice that I've found... Potentially wrong here, but this is from personal research.
  6. How about we adjust the whole of the green mods and not focus only on nerfing/buffing one since CA is the current meta? While I agree that CA is obviously much much more widespread than any other green mod, as others have said, it's likely because that other mods don't have enough going for them to justify the risk of slower movement or reduced health compromising on faster healing. It's because that's how the game has been designed due to the weapon balancing. Flak Jacket literally reduces the amount of grenades you use, and unless you're using Low-yields, you're basically got 1 opportunity to make a grenade work. Lots of players don't want to afford that risk, thus most don't use it. Fragile reduces the amount of health you have. I unironically main this green mod myself, but the cut down amount of health definitely puts me at a disadvantage. Higher movement speed only helps if you're using a heavy weapon... pretty much a LMG or HVR/DMR, especially if you're in a group where you're not needed to be a front-line attacker for your team. I see no signs of this even being remotely true. TTK has iirc, over time been reduced since the game's inception. Which actually is a net gain in damaged dealt... not a net loss... There are 3 (4) snipers in the game. You have: DMR and variants. NVHR 762 and variants NHVR 243 and variants Anubis (I forget the original one but w/e it's based off of) and variants. These three snipers have different specs. The 762 version of the NHVR that you're referring to as needing more damage was literally nerfed to 800 from 850 in the previous weapon balance. That's because there's the issue of quick switching. Asking for "headshots" or 1 hit kills destroy the game's entire mechanics. Everything in this game is designed for characters to have a single - unified hitbox, and no (non-explosive) weapon has ever, nor should ever, deal enough damage to kill a player in 1 shot. Yes, kevlar makes you a harder target to hit. That's the point??? CA still requires you to take cover. If you're hit 2x in a row by a 243 or 762 NVHR in optimum range, CA doesn't protect you from that (and I don't believe kevlar does either) What? You're saying... make a sniper... inaccurate... did a fuse blow or something? No. In no way, shape or form should this change ever be made. Congratz? Play style and player ability help you far more against explosive weapons than a green mod. Though the green mods do help... I don't see the point you're trying to help yourself with here... this example would actually support those who think Kev. is balanced against CA.... Maybe modify the green mods to have resistances... that's an interesting proposition, and something that could be an applicable idea... Now, would it be good or not? I can't say... that would require more analysis of the game.
  7. Ah, well tax isn't the only one... Ammo and car spawns as such. Sure they're minimal, but the existence of a few different ones helps. I'm not good at receiving memes - might as well post all my replies to r/woosh
  8. https://allthetropes.fandom.com/wiki/Money_Sink https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_sink Neverwinter had an issue with ingame currency inflation. https://www.engadget.com/2014-09-14-the-daily-grind-whats-the-ideal-mmo-gold-sink.html Thus they added a money sink to at least reduce how bad the inflation got.
  9. First version of AVX was included on both AMD and Intel chips in 2011. AVX-2 is still used in AMD Ryzen 5000 (as of their specifications they stated) and Intel's latest chips. However as has said, AVX-512 is slated to be removed from Intel and AMD chips in 2020 and going forward. Granted, it's a marginal improvement, which depending on the time for code and shareholders in the development of the engine upgrade, it's likely not really necessary to include it.
  10. I take it you're asking "does the game's current economy really help those who want to have a more immersive experience playing the game?" To which I say: The in-game economy seems pretty stable and rather consistent, and actually due to the money sinks - has helped keep the currency from inflating hugely. Car Selling? yes people do this quite easily. Get ban for selling car? I have never seen this happen. It may have, but I haven't. Ummm.... Not sure what you're trying to get done here aside from tell us? I'd suggest if you've been banned as it's been said many times before to submit a ticket/contact support regarding the ban. Again - If you've been wronged, hash it out with support and discuss it there. They're the people with power to lift/enforce the ban.
  11. I actually recommend Forza Horizon 3 & 4 if you want open world racing. Forza Motorsport 7 for track based racing. For you PS4 gamers: Gran Turismo Sport is fantastic track based racing. If you still prefer Need For Speed, NFS Heat has been a good ip to the series.
  12. /dnd will set your status as DND in game, I haven't tested in a mission, but when out of missions, it'll keep you from getting queued- it's a better system than /afk if you're not wanting to have your mouse bumped kick off the /afk and your team has to wait for the auto-afk to set back in. DND will also auto-reply to whispers with a message that you're /dnd and a custom message that you set. [/dnd message me in 10 minutes] as an example. Also @OP, I rather enjoy chatting with opposition. So I don't see why you wouldn't just add the players harassing you to /ignore and/or report them for harassment if it's really bothering you. IF there is some circumstance, you can customize your chatbox (press home) and check/uncheck the threads that you want to see and not see. I think this can hide whispers, but I haven't tried. Adding a report button to the scoreboard would be a good addition to at least make it more known that there is a report feature instead of having to find out that it's /report.
  13. RNG depends on the game. Not going to say the game requires "real life" as a deciding factor, but in games, RNG helps make the game at least more "fair" as it tends to already have people who can understand the RNG chances that aid in helping play. Games like CS:GO that have little to no RNG are hugely skill dependent, but the matchmaking in the game is a lot more open to choose from a wider range of players with as close to similar skill sets. APB has neither, a small pop, and a considerably wider skill set based match making system. (Think the different threats, while we have 10 hidden threats in each level, the game allows what would be a "low" silver to a "high" gold to be paired in a match given the circumstances in a district.) The non-mission player cars have been able to be shot through for as long as I can remember, so if that was a change then it was made before 2012. Either way, I don't think that it would ideal to mess around with this now as we're going to have phasing with missions in the near future. Though, I personally like how the system is now, I don't want to have to be forced to see cars as a half opacity object. If this is an option sure, but why not just make it so that your vehicle can't give damage to another vehicle if it's not in the mission. Your car would receive damage for attempting to grief someone. It also doesn't seem to hard to code as the game does know what vehicle velocities are, so given the vehicle with the higher velocity you could receive the damage that would've been intended on the "targeted" player.
  14. Understandably so. Best recommendation is to just /report and move on. Only other thing is recording it happening, and subsequently submitting a ticket to support. Those are about the only sure fire ways. Seeing in district chat "x person hack report" is extremely annoying.
  15. Correct, a bot is the use of a macro or, and here we go down the rabbit hole, "mimics a macro" While you could argue "a person mimics a macro by tap firing" that's stupid and misses the point. The post is referring to software that mimics a macro. In no way, shape, or form does this refer to humans doing human actions with human skill. Thus, Item juggling is not botting, nor any other form of cheating. The rest of the post, is invalidated by the immediate first premise, except for the end. Yes, it is against the ToS and EULA to have a cheater give you an advantage. Thus, you can't knowingly group with a cheater, (key word here mate is knowingly) Yes, you should report cheaters if you are teamed with them. Problem is, what if they're not cheating? Unless they're a blatant cheater, you won't know. Report who you know is cheating. If it's a teammate, watch them. Observe them, and make a judgement based on that. Just because someone is cheating on your team, doesn't mean you should quit. Think about your opposition, if they end up all playing against a (or multiple) cheater(s). You could let them know, and advise they too report. You could record the gameplay, and send it in to support in addition to /report. There's plenty of things you could do.
  16. Only thing it to contact support, which you already did, so not much else we can do here on the forums other than repeat the same (sometimes kind, others not so) words. "Put in a ticket and wait for support to get to it" I too work in IT, and getting to tickets will take time. If you didn't do anything against the ToS, or the EULA, then you should be fine. Sidenote, not sure where having a 2,000 euro laptop figures into this. My gaming desktop is less than half the price, and it runs perfectly, hasn't banned me even temporarily. (make sure you weren't team killing or anything grief wise, as one of my friends got a temp ban for tk'ing too much) best of luck.
  17. Reminds me of the Ablington Towers lore when that first came out.
  18. And if I remember correctly the FFbans.org stats show a significant number of re-rolled accounts, which we wouldn't know the true number of.
  19. Shields'd be great if we could lower their health, and maybe a gap between the sides of the shield on the left/right wings? just enough to shoot through, but only if you're aiming well enough.
  20. In the silver or bronze districts, I agree. I wish the tutorial district was brought back, and only open for accounts with <100 hours. The whole account could play there until their total character in game hours are over 100, in which case, they'd be kept from joining the district, and put out into the normal (likely bronze) population. If the new players wanted to play with friends who're not new, then they could join the normal districts and play with friends in the major pop, yet as long as their hours are under 100, they're still able to go back to the tutorial district. The early tutorial district was limited to your first time playing APB, and that was it. (iirc, maybe you could go back to it while your character was a Trainee)
  21. I'm curious as to what this overlay does... Especially as a lowly Radeon RX owner...
  22. That live action trailer always made me want to get back into playing when I was away from my computer for a few weeks, and the trailer came across my youtube recommended.
  23. Lilith posted the link to the old forums a while ago: https://forums-old.gamersfirst.com/ However, there's a 522 error, and thus the forums are unreachable. Didn't realize that I couldn't access them anymore.
