I mean, since 2013, we've had three different anti-cheat systems... FairFight "worked" and "didn't work", BattlEye is pretty meh, and EAC worked quite well, minus the issue of backend integration and high client side cost. Presumably now that the game is operating on 64bit systems, we should see the anti-cheat be updated, especially server side. Hopefully EAC? What does this even mean? Why? Which game is that? The only 2013 game I can think of that's operating now in a 'better' state is GTA Online, and being honest, it has a plethora of issues, with just as much a hacker/cheater problem than APB, and arguably worse with the larger population in that game.

Many people say the same thing about adding headshots. The skill in APB is not about seeing players feet and targeting them, but also teamwork. What do you do when you're in a large crowded area of the map and you no longer have red reticles? You would more likely shoot non-mission players (essentially nothing)

Dont expect support to undo their mistakes.

You made a badge with very clear knowledge of the hateful historic rhetoric of said badge, and proudly displayed it on your clothing... You don't need to be using overtly hateful images and words like slurs or swastikas to communicate effective propaganda. Jokes make people laugh, hate makes people act, fear, and target others. The fact you weren't "spewing" propaganda is false - clearly you know this since you received a ban over the symbol. As for the conflict over you account being reinstated, no member of the forum can help you. The only group is the one that you've already tried. Surely they can help, maybe the member of the team that you've had help this far is unable to, but the whole of the support staff should have someone. You may need to escalate it. If support is truly unable or does not desire to, then there isn't anything else you can do. If you wish to try small claims court to get compensated for your things, then you could fight to get money back, but doubtful you would get anything with your agreement to the ToS and CoC broken. -
I think a better map rotation would be per week, or bi-weekly, as per hour would likely require restarting the instance every hour and changing the instance, along with I think client updates... I may be wrong but, a frequent-weekely update or bi-weekly update schedule would allow for the fight club rotations to also add to the weekly scoreboards and continue thru for players to play as much as they want a week rather than for an hour and log off.

I meant, not entirely accurate. For one, rng is there to add somewhat more realism and raise the skill ceiling. Mod that change ttk change it in different ways for different guns with different player skill sets. The fact that mods have negative impacts in addition to positive ones make the choices of mods more important.

Oh I miss Beacon. Adding too many districts while the population isn't necessarily stable would be detrimental to the modes and/or the game. When stable this would be a better idea but we'll have to wait and see.

The only one I don't see as a bad suggestion, is explosive weapons banned in Asylum. Basically the OPGL, OSMAW, EOL, etc due to the cramped quarters. But otherwise, the rest of the suggestions just seem like darts thrown at a board to see whatever would stick. Like NTEC is a fairly reliable gun for most any beginner, as a fairly nice improvement over the STAR, with the added detriment to require more skill vs. the STAR. 2 Shot burst FBW? It already has one of the fastest fire rates for a semi-auto secondary. No thanks, RFP is pretty much the fun you're looking for.

Aside from this being a joke, ssn numbers are empirically sequenced number, someone has an ssn 1 digit above yours, and below yours. And one above them, etc... It's not until numbered issued out in 2011 did they change the simple incremented sequence to have a check digit and no longer be incremented by one. Not to mention the non-US players like those in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Europe, and so on, do not have such SSNs. Really the only thing that could be of valid use is IP Addresses, but that even has issues banning buildings (like those in University dorms) rather than individual computers. Or the fact that IP addresses can change.

No, clutching and headshots don't need to happen. CS:GO isn't APB, they're entirely different games. APB is geared much more towards teamwork than CS:GO does. Drastic changes like this are certain to harm the game.

I didn't even notice the financial 3d map missing parts of the map. Sounds like a good weekend challenge to implement.
-
Financial never had completed highways (in any iteration of the map since 2012). The supplied maps seem to be a simplified map, where only super fine details are missing. I personally know where the skatepark is, and can see the location for it. If you're looking for where the breaks are/finer detail, I'd reckon overlaying the 3d map with the colored 2d. Currently at work and wouldn't mind posting some of the work for it when I'm off and get my design software up and running to do a mockup to share.
-
In what way is it different? I see that it looks pretty much the same as the current financial map, with buildings in their prescribed location.

In the linked thread, isn't there a color map without text or logos on it supplied by Rapid99? What exactly does this map not fulfill that you need?

Previous to the free premium, I did. I also personally know some people who did. -

As a developer, providing a previously paid service for free definitely does cost you. It is revenue that you are no longer receiving. You want to hope that your other sources of revenue can sustain you before you make such a move. -

I still remember when we were anticipating the release of that game oh so many years ago, and oh how I reminisce the atmosphere I felt playing it, I don't believe I've missed having it in my life all that much. While you say it'll be heard to bring people back, I think as LO has planned, and prepared for marketing & advertising, let alone word of mouth once the Engine update rolls out, that attracting a population won't be difficult. Retaining said population after the engine is upgraded is different- especially depending upon the quality of release. If Little Orbit was in dire straights and monetarily lacking, the continued free premium for over a year wouldn't have continued. Not sure if it's just you, but I haven't had any issues with driving in the current game. The cars feel the same as they have in the past to me, and my preferences for car choice are still the same. -

I swear... either I have deja-vu. Or this is a repeat thread using the Steam stats to show the game is dying. The devs are not spending much time on current engine APB, because any work diverted to add new features will have to be repeated on the new engine. MattScott even said that they're not going to market and advertise the new engine until it's in a ready state. Why would you try marketing it now? That wastes the time and effort of the team, and hurts the game's future progress. If players return now, they see a discombobulated mess, and reduces chances of people returning when the actual engine upgrade comes. -
This... Only thing I remember were name merges during server mergers. Nothing about account deletions. Did you use Steam, or login with a G1 account? Check and make sure you're on the right account to sign in.

How the bonuses of two mods with the same characterists work
magik replied to kERHUS's topic in General Discussion Archive
I could feel the energy in that :S -
I mean... 8+ years here, and I only have 1 mission memorized. Something Deeds. Forgot the first word. Heck, I don't even remember the whole mission. Just that the 2nd or 3rd stage has you raid 4 doors - but only 2 of the doors are necessary (Obj. E and F). The other two just waste time. That's about all I got to show for 8 years of knowledge... Ope, found it: APB DB has everything you need. So.... not entirely veteran knowledge exclusively... anyone can pull this data up and use it.

DO you RUN you shit alpha on same servers as main client?
magik replied to Resine's topic in General Discussion Archive
Do you mean beta? alpha != beta. unless that's the sentiments your trying to express regarding the beta? -
This. You (OP) also seem to be misunderstanding, we do have an anticheat. It is enabled. And some cheats may certainly get around it, but it filters out most public and open cheats, which is what you seem to be implying with "five minutes of google searching". Also, inb4 "bring us headshots for players with more skillz"

APB Reloaded may have compatibility issues on PS5
magik replied to ShepardHS's topic in General Discussion Archive
From what I've understood about the upgrade, getting APB onto 3.5 will unify PS4/XB1/PC code bases, they should then be able to get the compatibility with the PS5 after that... The PS5 is only now being released, and the PS4 is still expected to receive new games for around another year. Due to the architecture of the Xbox Series and PS5 architectures, we should be able to see a better compatibility of games between the 3 main markets, even more so than the PS4 and XB1 have had. Personally, I think focusing on the PC engine upgrade primarily, and pushing out the content update to PS4/XB1 alongside the PC first, to then ensure compatibility of the game with the new consoles. The new consoles architectures aren't terribly different from the current console generation, so updating games shouldn't take more effort than converting from PS3 to PS4 or PC to PS4.
