  1. its not a fact that orbit lied to the community because there's no evidence to prove that they did so, you want to minimize mattscott's claim about being falsely banned by fairfight by demanding "proof" but that goes both ways "long time known cheaters" to you and i perhaps, altho i'm willing to bet money that we've both thought someone was cheating who was completely legit, but how would orbit possibly have such indepth knowledge of the community? there were more factors than just mattscott's personal test of fairfight; it hadn't been updated/maintained for at least a year, many bans weren't documented correctly enough to even know why they were in place, and lots of manual bans for other offenses were pushed through fairfight all of this info obviously comes from little orbit so certainly it could all be an elaborate lie, but in that case what's the point of campaigning for fairfight back - if orbit was willing to lie about it the first time, why wouldn't they continue to lie this time? also i think its pretty likely that the "bug" was fairfight not functioning correctly with the broken mess that is apb, something we saw play out again with eac, and just because orbit didn't publicly release a step by step problem with fairfight doesn't mean the issue wasn't reported to its parent company i think there's a large difference between disliking the devs and believing that they're actively lying to you
  2. a genuine question, if you think orbit flat out lied to the entire community and willingly unbanned every cheater then why do you continue to play the game that they own and operate?
  3. no he didn't, which is why i questioned how a system with loopholes like those would prove his ownership
  4. prepaid gift cards, expired or replaced cards, joint paypal accounts, and authorized users could all be exceptions to that nor do i imagine orbit would want the increased security risk of circumventing their transaction systems, there's a reason they do refunds in g1c
  5. how would this possibly prove that you're the account owner?
  6. grenades and explosive weapons can't be resupplied via consumable ammo boxes afaik, this change took place almost a year ago at this point
  7. i'm fairly sure we were told at one point that a "traditional" server merge like colby/joker was too much data for one server, altho i can't seem to find where this was said
  8. the shaw has only received a movement speed change over the years afaik, being forgotten in a dusty corner of the code while other weapons received numerous balance tweaks is a large part of why the shaw has fallen away from the meta
  9. it was implemented by orbit to give extra security for the trade system, it wasnt supposed to be such a pain in the patootie but orbit never made the 2fa system prevent trade locks like they said they would
  10. what are you talking about, trade locks were implemented by little orbit
  11. there was a brief period that lasted about a week before a hotfix hit, where it was discovered that editing your crosshair size via config would actually affect weapon accuracy the shaw has always been a weapon of choice for blatants, because its main drawback of unpredictable recoil can be completely negated by cheats
  12. we've now had 3 separate companies tell us that apb is a dumpster fire, at what point do we take their word for it? multiple vehicles dont interact correctly with physics, adding a certain legendary managed to break the radar system to this day, and even weapon skins manage to shuffle weapon models around every time a new skin is added devs pushing the engine beyond its breaking point in order to squeeze in new content doesn't strike me as a sign that the code's just fine because the game still has the same performance issues, in some cases even worse performance issues due to new tech, that it did ten years ago, which is only highlighted by the slew of half finished features and poorly thought out new content piled on top of it im not sure it matters how well a game is balanced if half the players can barely run it in an acceptable state certainly simple stat changes don't seem like they'd require much work at all aside from extensive testing but, to bring this back around to adding pieces of other successful games, not all of the balancing apb needs now or would need for new content is just simple stat changes
  13. i don't think its false at all, rtw's lax management allowed for massive feature bloat and we ended up getting a buggy mess of whatever could be finished by launch day
  14. people who keep buying multiple armas weapons on repeat are skimping on character slots because they're expensive, what? to put it in perspective yesterday apb peaked at 483 players, even if every single one of them bought the most expensive pack on armas it wouldnt even be enough to pay a single dev for the year
  15. chasing the hype and trying to cram a million cool pieces of other games together is a concerning suggestion to me, since thats pretty much how we ended up with a dead game in the first place - relying on the same one-in-a-million luck that allowed apb to barely maintain a sense of cohesion and function a decade ago is not something i'd be comfortable with, especially with orbit's track record fortnite and apex were both built around their respective gimmicks by huge companies, smashing different things into apb and seeing how they stick is both costly and a huge time suck for potentially worse than zero payoff, as evidenced by the 1 month disaster of a BR mode that took 1 year of dev time
  16. we dont have to stick to ca3, but that doesnt mean current med spray is balanced either and a 45s cd means that med spray can safely be used on every single push, which it is
  17. smh full hp in less than 2s is fine and balanced, smh these silvers dont know anything smh
  18. on one hand im happy med spray is getting fixed (please dont do the stupid thing where you try to balance the broken state instead of reverting to before it broke and then trying to balance), on the other hand now im worried about what else is going to get fucked up
  19. everyone watc then repot bva for cheat
  20. that's exactly the problem, explosives as they are right now would become hilariously overpowered without friendly fire
  21. remote det and meteor don't do any damage themselves, they just force the vehicle to explode all the damage depends on the vehicle stats, which makes remote det the better choice imo, since several vehicles deal more hp and hard damage per explosion the strength of the carbine is its versatility - it can fight mid range opponents in cqc and cqc opponents at mid range, but as a result dedicated weapons will generally outperform it within their range its also one of the more difficult to use weapons in the game, so chances are anyone using it well is a level above the average oca m1 spammer
