the plan was always to complete the ue3.5 upgrade that g1 started and eventually rewrite the entire game for ue4, but the only reason we're getting ue4 is because epic games is dropping support for ue3 3.5 is the short term goal, 4 is the long term goal we likely wont see for years

there’s been an apology for rushing the initial patch through testing, a partial revert of half the patch (ir3 changes), and new changes being tested on the test districts that’s it, afaik

at this point it really seems like they’re just leaving things as is because they can, there’s really no excuse for ignoring the incredibly rare occasions when the entire vocal community agrees on something

probably not a good idea while the game is in its current state it’d likely be on a way smaller scale, but look at how wasted the steam release of apb was under g1

to be fair, there has been a lot of “high profile” cheating in apb and in this case, orbit is aware they made a mistake - they even apologized for it - but they haven’t reverted the mistake its obviously possible given that they changed ir3 values immediately, they just haven’t, and the lack of any explanation is like gasoline on a fire to a post-g1 community

i guess if there was no red crosshair a min height character could more successfully hide behind crouch cover whereas someone with aimbot/wallhacks would see them regardless, further widening the gap between legitimate players and cheaters kind of flimsy tho
