  8. i assumed by classic br you meant just removing the player controlled map closing, so extra lives/respawning would remain wider was probably the wrong word but the skill gap in br modes (imo) seems far more noticeable - a singe life (or very limited lives) and gameplay almost entirely dependent on aim skill

  10. i honestly don’t think a classic br would fit any better than riot, a lot of the mode’s issues stem from the importance of not dying (from poor respawns to long periods of inactivity to poor rewards to a wider skill gap etc) and a classic br would only double down on that

  16. this is what i needed to hear idk if it was made clear or not, but it would have been nice to know riot was more of a behind the scenes test - a lot of players (myself included) have assumed riot is the major content focus moving forward, which is concerning im glad to hear there will be a balance/fix patch coming soon i’m worried that you haven’t mentioned grouping issues (again) for what it’s worth i think riot should stick around, there are clearly people who like it and if worst comes to worst it can be converted into a different mode thanks for the update
  17. i appreciate the effort and money that little orbit continues to put into apb, especially since i doubt they’re making any profit i don’t appreciate them not seeming to learn from previous mistakes but there’s always some hope for the future it’s grammatically correct anyway, you’re fine
  18. sunk cost doesnt really apply, as scrapping riot would itself cause more harm and the mode still has value even if its only as a stepping stone to something else (deleting riot mode and starting from scratch on turf wars would be rather poor resource management) its already been explained multiple times that separate teams are working on riot and the engine upgrade simultaneously and that throwing more bodies at the engine upgrade wont help
  19. riot can’t be scrapped at this point, too much dev time and pr to end up with nothing after a year short term orbit needs to start pushing out fixes for the current riot districts (groups, pickups, map balancing, UI adjustments, etc), just leaving riot alone to fester like an open wound is unacceptable long term riot needs to be slowly changed into something else, preferably a mode where dying/respawning has no real importance: turf wars, modified anarchy districts, etc - it should be very clear at this point that battle royale gameplay just doesn’t fit into this game the “update” to ue4 is exactly what you’re asking for, we’ve been told it requires a complete rewrite of the game from the ground up but i remain skeptical that this will ever be a practical option in any form - the last time estimate we got was multiple years away, given what we’ve seen of orbit so far does anyone think ue4 is going to come in on time?
  20. aim is obviously important - you have to kill opp to win after all positioning is a big factor - always attempt to use the map to force fights in your favor team play is another big one - it’s really just positioning but with extra people basic game knowledge - knowing things like gun stats, mission objectives/stages, approaches, etc is the basis of everything else high latency sucks and it will likely prevent you from ever being the bestest of the best player, but in a game like apb where it’s relatively easy to avoid any fights you won’t win latency can be overcome
