  1. Unless melee weapons are a one-hit-kill they would be practically useless in almost all situations considering that anything bar sniper weapons would annihilate anyone trying to close into melee range. They would be so situational that they are not worth carrying over whatever slot they would replace. Also, all that said, there already is a melee weapon in the game. Blowtorch.
  2. If you think 3D glasses are still some sort of status symbol you're delusional. Anyone who had 150 bucks lying around could get them acc bound for literally years now, and aside from that they look cringy as fuck, especially when people use them to fake sunglasses. So god help us, a small amount of people got a code for 3D glasses during a one-day, one-off event, their value is FOREVER RUINED /s
  3. A couple of my friends run fragile. You are greatly underestimating it's potential with the current balance. with your proposed changes Fragile would become overpowered af, especially considering that an increased movement speed is most certainly an at least soft counter to explosives.
  4. All things considered, the pack of revelations pass had been one of the best bang for buck pack to the point of being ludicrously cheap, so I saw it coming that it would take a hike upwards. I personally didn't buy the pack before, and I can say with absolute certainty that I won't buy it now.
  5. PIG is only really a problem when paired with percs/8-ball, in all other instances the thing is borderline useless
  6. You're letting the design of the NL-9 fool you. It looks like a shotgun but really it plays more like a sniper. It can work in close range but really it's not supposed to be used that way
  7. I'm not sure if you need to be locked up or if you need to be commended for the achievement
  8. Crims should be happy they don't have stabba. Nothing quite like getting backup and finding out that they're playing a different game from the rest of the team, then getting salty /t chat messages about killing stuns (even by accident) and seeing his score of 0 0 15 2 at the end oh but he still turned gold because arrests are so ridiculously weighted in the threat system
  9. No idea what even is reasonable to add anymore as LTL. We have a long range gun (NL-9), a mid range (CSG) and a point-blank (PIG). LTL is cut in such a way that implementing anything new would either be useless from the start or completely replace one of the others. On that note, stun fuel would be hilarious (and actually balance that mod a bit)
  10. Why on earth would reintroducing an even more broken threat system bring back any players, let alone "most?"
  11. I'm fairly certain Matt said quite a while ago that there will be a new car after UE3.5, can't remember when he said that though.
  12. Yes because getting pulled to court for breach of NDA is so worth it getting a screenshot out there a tiny tiny bit earlier than we're allowed to. Just have some patience dude.
  13. This happens sometimes when you get disconnected from the game. Give it like 15 minutes and you can get back in. edit: dammit cooky y u ninja me like that
  14. As a renderer of course I'd love any and all improvements to topology and textures, but for in-engine stuff in almost all cases the models are good enough. Not up to modern standards, but good enough. Now, don't get me wrong, if LO can do it I would be hugely in favour of it, but I'm also very aware of just how huge of a mountain of work it would be to remake every single body and face morph on new topology, let alone every single clothing morph too. Weapons are stupidly low detail though and imo they absolutely need an update more desperately than character meshes. The idea to upscale the current textures to combat the projection issues is interesting and I would approve of it as a stop-gap solution.
  15. If they're going to double the res they'll need to rebake everything anyway, the tougher part is the morphs. I personally don't see the mesh changing ever and luckily, it simply doesn't really need to. There are other things that would help with that aside from texture res changes. If they added some kind of anti-aliasing to the symbol projection it would already look a lot better.
  16. Gotta correct you on two things. One, bandwidth usage would be the same, since the game doesn't send the textures directly, but instead sends instructions on how to recreate the character locally. Two, it would require 4x more memory per texture since you're working with squares, meaning 8x the memory per player in district (if we double normals too) for the clients which can become pretty daunting considering that textures are by far the largest part in memory usage in games.
  17. I went and walked around all districts for hours to find all sorts of lighting and collision glitches and found a lot more than I would have liked, but I have to say that I personally like the palette changes quite a bit more than I anticipated from what I saw in screenshots. Though the post processing needs some serious rework, contrast is insanely high right now. Very much looking forward to have an opportunity to share more in the future!
  18. In my experience with many other games as well as APB and even some things that LO has already brought to us, it is always much better to wait it out than to bring stuff out half-baked. Problem is a lot of people want to have their cake and eat it too. On the one hand people want the Engine Upgrade now, on the other, people want it to be perfect. On the one hand, people want weapon rebalance now, on the other hand they demand perfection. Doing things right takes time, and I would MUCH rather have them take more time than to get shotgun-meta style issues with the entire UE3.5 upgrade, but that's just my 2 cents on the matter.
  19. That's basically dethreating (right down to the TK at the end) so yeah, it's bannable.
  20. In my experience it's some time during West coast US daytime every Friday
  21. Only 10 spaces left for Citadel! If you are max rank and still want to get in from Citadel, you will need to be fast!
  22. I can't count the amount of times I have ninja'd objectives because the defenders started to creep forward so far that they can't kill me in time. On that note: If you are close to completing the objective and start getting shot at just take the death and complete it. You never know if you and your team will suddenly bog down and be unable to take the objective again.
  23. You're asking for a simple, quick solution to a problem that is extremely complex and one that several multi-million games have issues with. Matchmaking is a huge problem in gaming that doesn't already have some of the huge issues naturally inborn into APB. At the moment, as far as I can tell, the biggest issue that APB's MM and threat system has is player pools. In any district, the ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM number of people you can be matched with is 40, and that's assuming no one is in a mission already, and that everyone has k'd up. Realistically, you have an average MM pool of maybe 10-15 people per district and even that I am worried might be a high estimate. If none of those people are a good match for you and your group (which adds yet another dimension to this already big problem), the game has 2 options: Either it leaves you unopposed, or it matches poorly. We know the former happens relatively frequently if you are playing with a wildly mixed group, and the latter only really happens after you've waited quite a long time in an unopposed mission. This is why district phasing is so important. It would dramatically increase the potential for viable matches and it would eliminate the need for having segregated servers, which again would help the MM along. combine that with people actually reporting dethreating (use /report, select griefing, then select dethreating) and it could make the game a lot more playable, even in slower hours. For now we just kinda have to bite the bullet and take it until we get that district phasing.
  24. PvE, while it would be neat to have, absolutely does not work with how APB plays. APB is so hugely dependent on positioning and dynamic strategy, you can't go and write a simple CS style bot. Even if we ignore positioning and paths of approach, alone weapon handling will be difficult to manage. In my experience with bots in PvP focused games, they usually have so much fudge in their aim values that they do not work at all, or so little that they keep min TTKing everyone. The only bots I can see happening at all would be some sort of horde bot for an event mode, but nothing that emulates mission play.
  25. One thing that is important to note, G1's constant big sales were acts of absolute desperation. We're almost certainly not going to go back to that. I agree that the armas pricing still needs a drastic reduction overall before I can consider anything good value. Flash sales I'd welcome personally, or maybe have weapon go on sale for like a weekend every week. We'll have to see what stage 2 of the armas revamp will bring.
