Oh is it "SpCt Is ChEaTiNg" time again? Or is it "LO is protecting cheaters"? can we get a different hate meme going? these ones are really starting to get kinda stale.

Making statements like that, I'm glad that you're not a GM

re: new changes to APB & ARMAS

The real issue here is that the Mounties are busted. Fix the mountie, you fix the Yukon too -
Actually faced a cheater on Jericho...
WhiskeyTangoFoxX replied to CookiePuss's topic in General Discussion Archive
I mean there is a discreet difference between saying that you don't see many cheaters yourself and saying there are none. There definitely are cheaters, but I feel pretty confident that more than half the people that get hackusated aren't hacking. I mean ffs people hackusate me, and I'm silver half the time. Bruised egos and all that. -
My solution for the imminent death of APB.
WhiskeyTangoFoxX replied to PitterPatter's topic in General Discussion Archive
The Engine Upgrade is not the destination, it's a needed element for LO to actually make the changes APB needs. The performance and graphics changes are just side effects of that. I'm sorry but this is the dumbest possible "solution" aside from removing threat restrictions entirely. The only thing anyone needs to do to stomp on newbies using this system is take the 10 mins it takes to make a new email and then a new G1 account. Better yet you try to handwave it away by saying it should "just kick smurfs." How should a game even know someone is a smurf? Using their threat? Congrats, you're back to square one except now you are also locking the silvers who accidentally slip into gold into those districts, making the game unplayable for them. LO has already planned a far better solution via cross-district matchmaking. You wildly overestimate the necessity of mods on most guns. Sure they help, but not as substantially as people like to believe. This I actually agree with. See above. Mods don't mean much at all. Only change with mods I would make is reducing the ranking requirement to use 195 mods to like 120 or so. The Calabria is actually a really good vehicle to give to new players. It's easy to drive, isn't completely made of tissue paper and can carry a heavy item. Giving them faster or stronger vehicles at the start substantially increases the learning curve for vehicles, and would overwhelm new players with choices for stuff they don't know anything about yet. I suggest actually checking what has already been done before making essays. LO did this last month. On the flip side, if you give them more to start with, they have less to work towards. I know for one that I grinded a lot to get specific clothing pieces back when I was still fresh. Was always excited when I got new stuff and hopped onto social to try them out. You'd be taking away that experience, I don't think that's a good idea. A: You don't. STAR is actually a great weapon, as is the FBW. Frags are great too. No reason why you NEED to buy anything to kill people. B: APB absolutely is an MMORPG style shooter. You level up your character, it's massively multiplayer. There are elements that are locked off due to levels. Those are all hallmarks of an MMORPG, and APB has had them since the start. TL;DR, these are all non-solutions, especially compared to the actual solutions already planned by LO. Rome wasn't built overnight. -
Pop in NA.... When is the EU Merge? LOL
WhiskeyTangoFoxX replied to a topic in General Discussion Archive
You know Citadel pop drops just as low in the off-hours, right? Jericho pop is obv hurting, but taking a picture during the lowest pop time of the day is a little disingenuous. -
Volunteer GMs now issuing bans???
WhiskeyTangoFoxX replied to CookiePuss's topic in General Discussion Archive
So instead of asking official sources directly, you instead make a stink about it on the forums where you have maybe a 50/50 chance of getting an answer and a 100% chance of causing a scene. You should know better than this by now, unless you really are just doing it for the attention. -

I'm going to have to stop you right there buddy. You seem to not understand what being a tester means. It is far from a privilege, it's not a fun thing, it's a duty at best and a chore at worst. Have you ever seen what testers/QA do? They run into every single wall they can find repeatedly to make sure you can't run through it. They jump at every conceivable object to see if they can get out of bounds. They hit every button combination on their keyboard to see if it makes the programme crash. When we test, we're not playing the latest and greatest APB content before anyone else. You can barely call any of it playing at all. Half the time we're trying to reproduce crashes and getting detailed steps written down on how to do it so the dev team can fix them. -
Why Yukon got Nerf?LO=G1
WhiskeyTangoFoxX replied to PonuryZniwiarz's topic in General Discussion Archive
Ogre is unbeatable in some very specific and highly annoying circumstances, i.e. the classic shotgun waiting around the corner or any CQC mission area where "just walk backwards lol" doesn't really help. Basically any scenario where you can wait out the 0.59 sec spin up in safety the ogre will wreck shit with it's 0.4 sec TTK. Not given that circumstance, it's a combined 0.99 sec to kill things, which is laughable at best, especially for a close range weapon -
The old pictures Reloaded showed were very obviously doctored to almost unrecognizable degrees. Ultimately this is not a recreating project, but a port. Most things, as Matt said, just get copied right over. Map is still brush based, still uses the same meshes and textures, just somethings have different colours now and we're going to receive the last of the Reloaded map edits, along with some shader changes. The primary goal of 3.5 is to have a unified code base that is less spaghetti and more manageable than whatever hot mess RTW and Reloaded left on the current version.

god damn vsb beating me to the punch about player rights. Aside from that, you breed nothing but toxicity with the whole listing banned accounts. Even if you disable comments on where ever it would get posted, there'd be a discord in seconds with a bot that reads out the entries. Messaging who is getting banned just gives them a platform to get "famous" on. Need I remind you of a certain individual of many hundred versions on Citadel?

Dog Ear does too much hard damage for what the gun is, only weapon with a suppressor that isn't shit against cars, and can be used while driving without having to car surf. The reasons nobody cares to mention all the other Anubis or SBSR is because they are factually useless. Anubis is a shitty DMR without the inverse damage drop and vehicle damage, SBSR is........... something. Technically also not a sniper but a rifle iirc. Anubis you still actually see sometimes, but the SBSR I have only ever seen in RIOT, not even kidding.

Why Yukon got Nerf?LO=G1
WhiskeyTangoFoxX replied to PonuryZniwiarz's topic in General Discussion Archive
Few months? Try years. The Yukon was broken from day one and wasn't fixed until about a year ago. The Shredder was OP for like a month after the very ill-fated shotgun balance. Reloaded Productions had a real and nasty habit of releasing overpowered weapons to then later nerf them after most people caved and bought it to stay competitive. A lot of people left over this design behaviour and so far LO has done nothing like it. The Showstopper is okay, Thunder is fun as fuck but a bit too powerful as a secondary, New Glory is kinda pointless for experienced players but a crutch for people who can't tapfire an ursus properly. Notice how none of these weapons are OP and how none of them got "made useless." No Troublemakers here. TL;DR if you paid money to get a blatantly OP weapon, you got nobody to blame but yourself when it gets nerfed back into line, or in the case of the Yukon, fixed to actually follow the design idea which was a mountie mixed with RFP. Also the Shredder came out years ago, no idea why you think LO has anything to do with it.
