Look for a decent hard drive, that really fixed all my lag spikes across all titles. You don't even need to spend a lot of money on those either. Your CPU might as well be the problem, but anything over a core 2 quad can run this game, trust me. (thats the cpu i used around 2014 before upgrading to a new i5 2500k system)

APB does not have more cheaters than other games, but since we have a smaller playerbase the few cheaters we have seem like a lot. Think about (nº of cheaters/total players).
