  1. That makes absolutely zero sense. The Autumn Assault Event wasn't like any other Event the game had, it was only run during certain times which meant that players that do work at these times could only attempt to get the skin on the weekends which is why it flopped the way it did. They learned their lesson and I hope they're sticking to the old Event format that G1 has used for years, meaning that they enable the Event and have it run for 2 weeks until it is eventually disabled with a patch. This time no one gets to complain about not being able to play at certain times as the Event runs 24/7 for 2 or so weeks. Anyone saying they can't complete it to receive the rewards probably doesn't have enough time to play games which is not LO's fault.
  2. Not gonna lie, I actually forgot about HBU there for a second. Obviously another mod on the list of Car Modifications that should be looked into. (Reducing the max health of the car would be a valid tradeoff.)
  3. Pretty much this. However, some car mods are still absurd when they're compared with each other. (Steel Plating 3, Armored Engine 3 and Radar Tower / Car spawner) Although a general health nerf to the current Meta cars could go a long way.
  4. Whoops, I actually forgot about those. I added them, thank you.
  5. To note is that this is for the completionist title that requires you to complete 20 Dailies while the main role for the Event only requires you to do 10.
  6. Here are a few of the major things they've changed since they introduced BattlEye. Weapon balance pass that made a lot of the lesser used guns more effective although the Meta hasn't really changed. 3 New Seasonal Events. (One of which is currently running) Revamped /report system. 2 Factor Authentication. Trading System. Armas rework with price changes. Reformed the San Paro City Testers (SPCT). They also fixed a bunch of bugs that have been in the game for years. Also yes, you're still allowed to use the Advanced Launcher.

    Snowball bug?

The HOHOPGL and Snowballs aren't available in the main districts this year.
  8. The reduction in cooldowns for active Character / Vehicle Mods that Premium provides is generally seen as the only "OP" thing that comes with Premium. I'm saying that they should remove this part of Premium and change the cooldowns of all mods to the current Premium values.
  9. It's a disgustingly effective way to cheese kills so I am all for increasing the Cooldown to something like 2 minutes with Premium. Also as a friendly reminder, the cooldown reduction that comes with premium should still be made baseline and available to all players.
  10. The main rewards for the Event come from accepting and completing Daily activities. You have to go down to the very bottom of The Beacon, towards the Center you will find a small room with Ammo machines, a Mailbox and a Contact. Interact with the Contact and accept the Daily activity there. As for Slay Bells, you have to open your map and double-click a Contact and accept your daily that way.
  11. I believe this isn't intended and is caused by leaving the Slay Bells district while you're located within a Frostbite zone.
  12. Oh hey! That's me! Jokes aside, don't worry about the name and shaming, I don't really care all that much. As for why I am using the Advanced launcher, I don't particularly enjoy losing firefights due to stutters which are very prominent at a particle space area set over 2500. I just don't think that the amount of micro stutters makes the game enjoyable to play, on top of that I struggle to maintain framerates close to my Monitors refresh rate which makes the game feel sluggish. (If you've ever used a 144Hz monitor and played at 60~80 fps you'll know.) Now as for the text edits, this is really just so I don't have to open the steam overlay and have to look up certain missions whenever I get them and check whether or not they are ending in a horrible last stage. (Such as Bomb stages.) I don't really see this as an Advantage as I know just about every mission by heart nowadays and because the info for each last stage has been available for years on apbdb / apbvault. Players have looked up last stages mid missions for years by using these sites so the localization edits really are just a quality of life improvement so you don't have to tab in and out of the game constantly. On top of that, missions showing their last stage in the title should be something that is in the game by default as there are many resources to see these nowadays so there's no point in keeping them hidden anymore. I honestly don't think that any sort of config edit is a big deal right now. Most config edits give you no advantage and the very few ones that do only do so barely. You will never see a top tier player complain and blame a config edit as the reason they died, simply because the advantage is little to none. If Little Orbit decides to stop players from editing the games files then they should do so after 3.5 releases as the majority of players edit config files to increase frame rates and reduce the amount of stutters. I am all for encrypting the files that allow for graphical changes in 3.5 if the Engine upgrade drastically improves the performance on both older and newer hardware.
  13. Because it is quite literally impossible to provide what the Advanced Launcher does to a console game. Not to mention that again, right now the PC and Console versions can be seen as two entirely different games as they run on separate engines.
  14. No, they can't because first of all, it is a CONSOLE game meaning that they can't really edit game files and second of all it is running on Unreal Engine 3.5 while the current PC version runs on a heavily modified version of Unreal 2.5 / 3.0. G1's idea was to implement the majority of Advanced Launcher quality options into the main game as part of the Engine upgrade. This can be seen in the leaked build of the Engine upgrade for many years ago as there is an insane amount of quality options to chose from ranging from mostly Low, Medium, High. This includes shadows, character models/design, vehicle models/design and so on. However, this is to be taken with a grain of salt as LO said that the leaked 3.5 build differs from their current build so we have to wait and see if these things make it into the game but judging by how much LO cares about polishing 3.5 I'd say that it is very likely.
  15. You have to keep in mind that it was the second ever Joker Box weapon. It is likely that even G1 didn't know where they were going with the whole "Legendary" system at that point. It could've been that they decided to make every Legendary unique in some way after they released the Hazardous. I also mentioned in my post above how it was technically the only way to obtain an M-1922 ingame unless you've played an Event that was only ran once so in a way it was very unique at the time of release.
  16. That's because it doesn't. Using Minimal ingame, turning off bloom and playing close to max brightness will give you the same visibility as every low-quality config out there. In fact, it tends to be even better because I believe you can still see through fences with the Minimal setting ingame while you can't with the majority of on the fly low-quality configs made by players. The players that put effort into their configs usually pay attention to the stuff that is created by the environment meaning that for example, pedestrian cars and models would use the absolute lowest resolution they can possibly have no matter how close you are to them. All in all, I think people do not understand that there's a difference between the Advanced Launcher and edits such as shaders or the removal of particles entirely. These are two different thing, the latter usually requiring you the edit .upk files which is against the ToS but is not done by the Advanced Launcher.
  17. The gun used to be very rare and the only way to receive it before the Joker Box was released was from an old Event (I believe so atleast) which rewarded you with the " M-1922 'Uncle Sam' ". They then released the Joker Box version of the gun which made it kind of special as it was the only way to obtain the gun outside of the old Event which I believe they only ran once. They eventually went and released the Loyalty reward version of it along with the unlock for the 2 slot version from Devil Dog / Tiptoe. So the only thing that makes it somewhat unique is the different color variants you can use for the Hazardous skin that are unlocked via a redeem code on armas. As for the gun itself, it's really not enjoyable to use anymore ever since they changed the recoil to start low and then ramp up as you continue firing, applying an unnecessary mechanic that made the gun feel horrible to use.
  18. Open a Customer Support Ticket here. The G1 support used to help players out with this so I am guessing that the Little Orbit support will do so as well.
  19. I stated that activity on the forums doesn't have to be related to your post count and that other things can be considered as activity such as the quality of your posts and how much they actually contribute to the threads topic. Taken from the OP: You're essentially forgetting what he said in the opening post and are taking something that he said after as the only factor that went into choosing who's going to be in SPCT. You do not define who is among the best players by Forum activity. If you do not have an opinion on who's in SPCT and who isn't then why are you bringing up all these things about Matt "lying" about the ways the members have been selected? It makes no sense to me and to an extent you honestly sound upset about the selection of players that got in, even tho the list isn't final and more members will be added over time. All in all, I really don't see a point in having this discussion so I'll leave it at that.
  20. This depends on how you define active. You do not need to have thousands of posts to be an active member. An active member of the forum could also be a person that doesn't post in every thread, but rather in those that he wants to participate in by giving valuable feedback or sharing his insight on the thread's topic. You're also taking Matt's post out of context as the OP says that they were looking for the best players that have the most availability and those that have been their harshest critics. Only one of these has to do with posting on the forums which would be the "harshest critics" part. Not everyone's going to like the list of players that are in SPCT simply because they don't like them, don't think they're a good pick or simply feel like they're not going to do a good enough job. Of course, there are many other reasons but I can assure you that from a gameplay perspective, this new SPCT team has many of Citadels best and most knowledged players.
  21. We test unreleased content during private playtests together with the LO Devs and QA Team and then give our feedback on it so they can improve things. LO is still learning what the community likes and what they don't like so we're there to help them understand what is good and what is bad so they can improve upon it.
  22. You can not completely disable Blood or Smoke effects with the advanced launcher as you do not get rid of those by editing the "APBCompat.ini" file. In fact, you get rid of those by editing .upk files which are far harder to edit than a simple text-based config file. I do not think that anything in the Advanced launcher gives you as a player an advantage other than it actually increasing your Frame rates and getting rid of the horrible micro-stutters that have been plaguing this game for many years. The Advanced Launcher is free to use by anyone for a reason, and it works as a band-aid to add more quality options to the game as the ones in the game itself are anything but enough to make the game run stable on pretty much all PC ranges.
  23. This is one of those systems that could be added to the game for free with ways of expanding it as a way of monetization. For example, they could give every single player one Customizable Weapon Skin for free meaning that you could design it in the way you want (Premium Limitations apply). And as a way to monetize it, they could release more Customizable Weapon Skin slots on Armas for a fair price meaning that you wouldn't have to delete your old design to start a new one. Something else to note is that a customizable skin slot should be restricted to one weapon as having the ability to use a single slot to design different looking skins on each different gun would be way too much. As for the system itself, I wouldn't mind seeing something like this added to the game and the only real problem I could see is that it would impact performance further so I feel like it really comes down to how much 3.5 increases the overall performance of the game.
  24. While it hasn't been seven years, this is definitely an issue that needs to be solved. However, it's not as easy as forcing all Golds on Gold server as that will make people dethreat by teamkilling / afking in missions to be able to go back to a Silver district which will also impact the enjoyment of the game. I feel like the only proper solution to this issue is the cross-district matchmaking that has been mentioned quite a few times as that'll give the game a far larger pool of players to choose from meaning that Silvers should hopefully be matched against Silvers and Golds against Golds.
