  1. The new Engine got cancelled because porting it to 3.5 was just a flawed concept and LO realized that its not going to work way too late. APB runs off of a ton of custom code which was not part of the 3.5 Engine upgrade which has lead to many issues and horrible performance. Instead they ported the game from 32Bit to 64Bit which essentially achieves the same thing in the back end which is to allow for major improvements and more modern solutions to be used in the game but visually to us the game looks the same so it is less fancy than upgrading to a newer version of the Engine.
  2. No it does not, the title means I test patches for LO or give feedback on things they are planning to do. This is a voluntary role and involves no payment whatsoever. I'm not even gonna go into the other ramblings you decided to post because it turns out, it wasn't EAC as expected and was an issue on Respawn/Apex's end that they have started to patch, on top of that, looks like the two players that had cheats injected into their game were injected by a Trojan or other bits of malware prior, possibly through said issue on Respawn/Apex's end.
  3. There's a few reasons why I believe its not related to EAC, primarily the fact that its isolated to Apex which runs on the source engine and Source/Source2 has had a few similar RCE exploits such as the ones seen in this clip. Also, for now the issue seems to be isolated to Apex, its yet to pop up in other games which it would've by now if the issue was related to EAC. Sorry for not being a cry baby that posts delusional takes and miss information on the forums all day, I know I'm the odd one out. If there's a vulnerability what do you expect LO to say/do about it when EAC themselves says they are confident there isn't one? The forum (as usual) is fishing for answers/clarification for things that LO themselves can't comment on or potentially aren't even in the know about because EAC doesn't have to tell companies that use their AC anything, pointing out said things by using common sense apparently means I'm paid to defend LO.
  4. People are jumping the gun about a RC Cheat injection being related to an anti-cheat but it has happened in other source games before. I'm sure EAC doesn't care about what some people on twitter with zero knowledge about anything anti-cheat let alone RC injection related are talking about. So far, the RC injection seen recently during an Apex tourney has only affected Apex legends, if it was a serious issue it would've affected other titles by now.
  5. Twitter comments are about as high value as 90% of posts on this forum so they are nothing to pay attention to.
  6. Probably trust the official stance of Epic? Seems like whatever happened at the Apex tourney was unrelated to EAC and potentially related to Apex/Respawn/EA services themselves. This would also make sense because of quite frankly absurd cases of exploits / potentially cheats happening in Apex lately such as an entire lobby being flooded with AI Controlled bots that hunt down and only target certain streamers.
  7. Trade locks are caused when you log in from a new IP, after a windows update or when you changed out parts in your PC since the last time you logged in. This usually only lasts for 3 days and aims to protect you from any sort of account theft.

    Obeya CR762 is broken.

That would do absolutely nothing because that'll be a 0,2 second lockout that prevents you from switching which will do nothing but feel clunky rather than serve as a "nerf" to the gun.
  9. Literally posted minutes before the shut down, whilst the countdown for the shutdown was rolling but its okay, I know you like to complain for the sake of it
  10. Crazy, guess I must be hallucinating about the literal announcement made on discord before the servers were being restarted.
  11. No, they found a last minute issue with the Valentine's Day event and pushed its release to today. (Its live now) Edit: They found another small bug and are applying a quick fix.
  12. That's quite literally not a thing anymore buddy
  13. Valentine's news post: https://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/news/2024/2/6/v-day-2024
  14. APB controller support on PC is really just the bare minimum and there's a bunch of areas that do not have any controller support at all. Xbox controllers work and I don't think there's a particular controller that does better than others so I think you may be better off getting used to mouse and keyboard.
  15. We did, though they are missing from the patch notes, will probably be fixed.
  16. VIP missions are simply unbalanced and depending on how many players are in a mission the Attacking Lives vs VIP lives difference always favors one team heavily. VIP on Fight Club is also pretty bad because barely anyone plays around their teams VIP which leaves them alone to be hunted down by a bunch of players whilst also being able to be tracked in real time, its not a fun experience and a lot of players have started to simply leave the district and then rejoin it if they get picked as VIP because it is simply not fun.
  17. There's no more unopposed missions so this is rather normal as you would also wait for extended periods when playing in groups of 4 under the old system. Wanting that to be possible is reasonable and good feedback. Whilst the second example is questionable, the first one isn't unreasonable if the silvers are close to gold and the golds are close to silver in terms of their hidden MMR. Unless there's huge gaps in visible threat its best not to focus on it. The system was moved to work on the world server rather than on the individual district meaning that latency now plays a bigger factor, if your latency to the world server is high, readying up might take a second. This is kinda unrelated to Matchmaking itself but has gotten worse now that unopposed missions are gone so they defo need to take a look at that. Can't say this is my experience, I'm a very high MMR gold player and I still get matches and they also feel much more balanced because the system no longer considers me against 2/3 silvers a valid match.
  18. As many players have noticed, the new matchmaking system is in fact in and word is slowly spreading, I would assume that this is some sort of soft-launch that doesn't commit to anything in case the system breaks due to conditions that simply weren't able to be tested on OTW due to the limited amount of players and the fact that it has its own skill rating server meaning that your live threat/mmr does not carry over. I doubt the intend here is to lie to players but rather not say the new matchmaking is here to then have players return to the game just for the matchmaking patch having to be reverted because of issues.
  19. Quite honestly should get fixed through another med spray nerf (or flat out removing it because consumables should have never been a thing in the first place) I don't think anyone enjoy playing K3/Medspray as well as no one enjoying playing against it, its just a net negative to the game.
  20. Keep in mind the server crashing is why they are testing as this issue specifically seems to be load related and doesn't pop up in isolated testing with less players. There's a chance it may happen again today but that is exactly why the test is happening rather than just blindly pushing this thing to the live servers and hoping for the best.
  21. I'm assuming that statement was made when LO bought the G1 platform which was at a time in which consoles were still pretty alive, however, apparently Xbox was offline for some time and had store issues as well as the PS version being pretty dead by the looks so I really doubt it made much money in recent years.
  22. Pretty sure APB's code is written in the Minecraft enchanting table language so I don't think that code you posted is gonna work
  23. Cheating is certainly an issue and I agree that cheating will only further make people cheat and its going to drive the legitimate players away over time, however, either the majority of these "cheaters" are complete garbage or my experience is simply different from other peoples because whilst I do encounter cheaters, usually one or two over a 4-6 hours session it is still not NEARLY as many people try to make it out to be. I really do think its just a long chain of people hackusating those that are better than them so the opinion of top players generally tends to differ cause they aren't going to hackusate someone cause very few are good enough to completely wipe the floor with them and those that can are generally long term players they know are unlikely to start cheating and are simply having a good game of being in the right spot at the right time due to game sense or other good call-outs, maybe even by complete coincidence. Ask any top player how many hackusations they get every time they play the game, I get like a hand full to a dozen every session and I'm sure there's players that get even more when they themselves know for a fact they aren't cheating. Hackusations are a form of venting/rage and APB is full of moments that would make players want to rage or complain to get things off their chest but saying the majority of players are cheaters is absolute nonsense and I feel like a lot of it comes from the fact that APB is a hard game to learn and get into, let alone improve and a lot of human characteristics make us want to blame other things before blaming ourselves for things, in games like APB, one of those ways to put the blame on someone else is claiming they are cheating when they might just be better or having a good game and I guarantee you it will happen a lot less once your average gold/silver player is no longer matched against some of the best in the game as frequently as they are now.
  24. Good matchmaking will mean that your average player will no longer come to the forums complaining about the amount of cheaters when the actual issue isn't that the players are cheating but rather the fact that they are playing against players that are WAY out of their league. There's a lot of insanely good players that still play the game daily, of course your average gold will think that someone is cheating because it is essentially the equivalent of matching a few Master Guardian CS players against actual CS Pros without telling them which will of course lead to the Master Guardian players thinking their opponents are cheating. That doesn't mean there are no cheaters, just not nearly as many as your average/new player wants you to believe there are. This is already done as its common practice with every anti-cheat on the market, same goes for Hardware ID bans, these however are very easy to get around for just about any cheater as the cheats will provide you with the means to spoof your IP/HWID.
