  1. I don't know how Win 10 is seemingly what makes or breaks your system, if it can handle Win 7 it should handle Win 10 just fine fine, especially if you debloat it. I understand not being able to use Win11 due to it requiring TPM 2.0 as well as Secure Boot but there's no excuse for not being able to install Win 10 unless you don't want to for whatever reason or your PC is more than a decade old running hardware that was already considered mediocre back then, in either case, no reason to drop an Anti-cheat that is working better than other solutions APB has had in the past. Windows 7 is being phased out just how 32Bit systems were eventually phased out for gaming, its a bottleneck and possibly even a risk to continue supporting it so more and more companies are ending support much like Microsoft did. Edit: Windows 7 is also only being used by around 1%~ of systems that use Steam, there is absolutely no reason to continue supporting it because it will cause issues sooner or later (if it isn't already)
  2. I'm on a 4080 and I am not experiencing any of those issues.
  3. Mainly just if it works and if you encountered any bugs, maybe also the time it took to get opposition (although the latter isn't as important for OTW tests) In this thread or the LO discord would be my guess
  4. Testing the stability of the new system and making sure its absolutely ready for live, you'd be whining non stop if last weeks iteration released to live and would've went "Did anyone even test this?!"
  5. >Comes to the forums >Doesn't read anything >Complains non stop >Gets called out >
  6. If you would read the OP you wouldn't have to ask this question. Classic Hexerin post
  7. Certainly, the new system with its new matchmaking rules will certainly allow for more accurate matches at the cost of potentially higher wait times (assuming its low pop hours and the system has to go through its passes in which it loses accuracy for the sake of getting you a match) I think that especially cross-district MM will help a ton ONCE the game gets an influx of players such as when the contacts release which is likely the reason why MM is being tackled now rather than after the new contacts or whatever else they're planning. Current match quality is crippled by the fact that its limited to 50 other people on the district, some may not be ready, some are in missions, some are ramraiding, some are much higher / lower mmr than you and the list goes on, putting cross-district MM in the game prior to the contact release should massively improve match quality (on top of the already improved matchmaking) as it now has a lot more players to match you against and better matches means returning players (or even current players) are less likely to stop playing the game due to unfair matches or just a generally unenjoyable experience. Obviously there's more than just Matchmaking that is making players quit but this should be a large stepping stone to make the game more enjoyable for everyone.
  8. The point of this test is to test the overall stability of the new matchmaker as it now runs on a world level rather than a district level. They know very well that most people that will playtest this do not have a properly calibrated mmr (due to OTW not using your Live MMR) so it won't be a good example of how well the matchmaking itself works in terms of accuracy and likelyhood of fair matches, that's something they will adjust if needed after getting Live data, however, the new Matchmaker itself will be more strict due to not having lopsided matches meaning that you'll no longer run into missions of 3 golds vs 5 silvers. Match quality should only degrade if there's little people online to play against as the new matchmaker will slowly degrade accuracy if you've been ready for a while just so you can get a match (within reasonable MMR differences)
  9. Sometimes people on the forums have more knowledge about whats gonna happen than SPCT, let alone LO themselves!
  10. Yea lets just ignore the 64Bit update which fixed multiple major issues such as the rtx crash and now serves as a foundation for them to actually do something with the game entirely, thanks for proving my point.
  11. Opened the forums for the first time in a while and immediately regretted it, the amount of delusions and flat out awful takes with not a single thought to them is staggering, I don't blame LO for only posting on their discord cause the forums are a literal cesspool of people believing what they want regardless of what LO will tell them and once LO releases something they will flock to every conspiracy theory possible outlining how LO is lying and nothing changed before admitting that they did actually do something to the game. Weird how you are posting this in the thread that outlines the literal roadmap they are working on H M M This would literally kill the game as it requires a ton of content and further splits the small playerbase, it would be nice in the future but its not feasible let alone smart with their current team size as well as playerbase. Yea, except no one would buy this game to keep it running but only to copy the designer for a different game they are working on Yea cause a CEO leaving the company is such a common thing to happen, especially without an apparent replacement.
  12. I don't believe its an ingame reward although I'm not 100% sure, I do know that its available on Armas as part of a bundle for 599/879 G1c tho, really wish they would debundle the items but oh well
  13. This is mainly due to the fact that LO's balance efforts have been more of a reactive thing, community complains x or y is OP and LO nerfs it, there's never been a real direction for balance and it shows. I am personally against nerfing the OBIR atleast until other things have been brought up a notch, things such as your suggestion to just get rid of the 0.1 increase in equip time for the scout, revisiting the CR762 nerf as well as buffing all sorts of guns that could really do with it as they've always been rather underwhelming.
  14. They nerfed the equip time a bit which has nothing to do with the bolt timer (refire timer) which is basically just a flag that does not allow for weapon swaps whilst you are within the refire-timer meaning that once the gun can shoot again you can now swap weapons, its not an individual value on its own that you can tweak, if you wanted to make it longer/shorter you would have to adjust the rate of fire itself which hasn't happened for the Scout. The reason the OBIR lets you swap to your pistol way sooner is because its rate of fire is much faster which in return makes the bolt timer a lot shorter. By now, its equip time is a mere 0.1 seconds longer than it used to be with 25 extra damage to compensate. (Initially it was 0.2 seconds longer with 50 extra damage as shown in the screenshot)
  15. Camera anchor swapping outside of cover Gunplay better suited for PvP Movement (APB probably has the best movement out of all TPS games even now)
  16. Almost as if its not the server that's having an issue but rather the player you're shooting at having packetloss.
  17. My guy finds a meme from 2014 and decides to make a forum post out of it
  18. Simon Tran (The enforcer one) was also removed since that contact never had missions assigned to the contact meaning that if all enforcers in a group were pledged to it they would guarantee themselves ONLY Defense missions.
  19. thats not hairstyle #2 in your profile picture..
  20. EAC doesn't care either way cause all the advanced launcher does is modify .ini files, its not a program that's running as you play the game, it serves the same functionality as changing your ingame settings through the regular options, you simply have more control. Not to mention that EAC has the ability to block config edits, they've already shown this by blocking shaders as well as upk edits (upk edits have been used to remove particles entirely) this is manually set up and basically tells you that if they wanted to block .ini edits they can absolutely do so rather than just making it so it flat out bans you for something they themselves said is an approved way of editing your graphic settings. EAC checks for injections into the game client, things such as overlays and patterns such as simulated inputs (Macros/Triggerbots), it doesn't give a crap about whether or not a line in an .ini file says 16 instead of 128. In other words, you are clueless if you think the cause of these bans is due to configs considering if they didn't want configs to be a thing anymore they have all the tools in the world to stop players from using them rather than flat out banning the accounts.
  21. The latter has nothing to do with LO, the former likely has a reason if support isn't lifting the lock.
  22. That'd be just as bad honestly, I agree this sale is a mess but making something that invalidates all other CSG's as part of a limited time sale (or even as a permanent addition to armas) would be a spit in the face to all those that bought the existing CSG's which are now much worse and basically completely invalidated compared to the 3 Slot which can do everything they can and even more.
  23. This thread has taken a proper tinfoil hat turn, never change APB forums.
