  1. EAC will only keep cheaters out for a few days at best which is very normal for any Anti-cheat, although I HIGHLY doubt that players have bypassed EAC's measures yet so the chances of running into cheaters right now *should* be extremely low, however, in the coming weeks as cheats get updated they will slowly creep back into the game at which point the cat and mouse game that is cheating / anti-cheat measures continues, this is where BE was lacking, it simply took too long to catch players cheating after they found a way around the measures put in place by the Anti-cheat to prevent injections. How effective EAC will be is going to show in the next few months, not right now as players are very unlikely to be cheating and most ppl are not going to risk their account cheating until they know the cheat is going undetected so the only cheaters you may encounter right now are those testing the cheat and probing the anti-cheat.
  2. If you're referring to players using edits to remove all smoke particles etc then I'm happy to inform you that EAC kicks you for using those type of edits.
  3. FF was a purely server side anti-cheat that used stats to determine who's cheating and who isn't, it had no access to check what sort of programs you're running on your PC so your concerns are unwarranted.
  4. Correct and doing so will turn those effects off.
  5. All Helpers are members from SPCT, myself included, if you think someone is cheating the /report functionality should be a lot more effective in combination with EAC so I'll advise you to use it for any player you think may be cheating.
  6. If they're blatantly cheating then EAC has a much better chance of banning them than BE ever had, not to mention that they also talked about possibly returning FairFight in the future on top of EAC. Overall happy to see EAC return and actually having meaningful patch notes along with it, hopefully this milestone patch is the first of many.
  7. There's plans for potential settings for users with 16GB or more RAM, for now players can use custom garbage collection timers, I went as far as 10 mins without a crash in which case my game used 8GB of ram although the stutter following that was quite severe. It should change slightly depending on pop but it basically just tracks how long it took to clean up all the garbage, this process makes your game stutter, if you're averaging 160ms then that means your garbage collection stutters/freezes are around 160ms long.
  8. Make absolutely sure that your BIOS is up to date, the 7 series of AMD CPU's have been burning up lately due to possible SOC failures. Garbage collection stutters are still around as those are an integral part of Unreal Engine 3, however, 64Bit raised the memory ceiling so APB is no longer limited to 4gb of ram anymore which means that they can very likely add an option that moves these stutters to happen in non combat scenarios for users with 16GB of RAM or more.
  9. The plan is to add an ingame option for it eventually.
  10. This still works fine aslong as you're editing the BaseEngine.ini file and are starting the game with the APB.exe located in the Binaries folder. Also make sure Vsync and Smooth Framerate are both turned off ingame.
  11. The main focus is still EAC and may be sooner than you may think, the developer was given 5 hours a week during downtime (such as when compiling a build) to do small balance changes such as these, it did not really take anything away from the EAC progress.
  12. First time I hear of this, do you have an evidence to back this up?
  13. No gaslighting, just better understanding of what these changes actually do, the STAR is running into its jump accuracy cap in both clips due to moving and jumping as in this scenario its not using a negative multiplier such as that of the marksman modifier. The real difference in jump modifier values has always been when aiming down sights as the negative multiplier of most guns will make it so it no longer runs into its jump accuracy cap. I know you're always on the look out for something to complain about to feed your narrative that LO is doing nothing to improve the game but if you're gonna spew miss information because you're uninformed I'm more than happy to fact check you because I actually do know just about everything there is to know about the games mechanics and value interactions under the hood. Also, Speed's DB runs the updated values straight from the SDD that was sent to him as part of this patch, this actually caught that the .45 has received a stronger nerf than initially intended which made it to the Live servers and once more confirms that all changes have made it to the Live game as intended. Also on the topic of the .45, surely you've noticed that it turns into a 6 stk at 37m when it used to have a 40m effective range.
  14. That's not how modifiers work, it's one value that plays into a bunch of other values, for example Base Accuracy x Marksman Modifier x Jump Accuracy. Here's a comparison image I managed to grab from before the patch went live, as well as a video made by Secrets to show off the difference. These are all done with a stock STAR and the change would be even more apparent if the STAR was equipped with Hunting Sight 3 as that makes the Marksman modifier much better.
  15. If you didn't spend that much time on the forums talking nonsense you'd probably be better at telling if the changes made it into the game or not. They all made it into the game and its extremely apparent on the STAR for example.
  16. Inviting you to the super secret, totally not public LO discord server! https://discord.gg/littleorbit (Please no one except Hexerin click this link!!!)
  17. * Dropoff Range 40m -> 35m * Effective Range 65m -> 50m (Effective Range may be 45m, waiting for clarification)
  18. Either you're playing on extremely high ping or are mistaking poor aim/tracking for bad hitreg. While I won't deny its not flawless its definitely far from what you're describing.
  19. Likely not the end but it appears to be much less common, although its hard to actually know until the patch goes live so fingers crossed.
  20. Go to a contact and check if you have the unlocks of the role? Very hard to tell indeed.
  21. As of 64Bit release the bug is no longer affecting actual role progression, its simply a visual bug now so before you bash them for doing nothing you should probably actually look to understand the bug you seem to be so passionate about
  22. First of all, this is an entirely visual bug the Sniper and Munitions Specialist roles will very likely not be bugged anymore after the Easter event is over, however, there will still be some roles that remain bugged as they were already bugged prior to the Easter Patch, this is on their Radar but right now the focus is on getting EAC going.
  23. It'd help if you posted your PC specs and when this issue started happening. Outside of that have you tried to close background applications? I have heard of a case recently where razer synapse would make a users fps dip down to 10-20 from 80+ by just moving their mouse.
