  1. That just plain sucks. I hope they get it sorted fast.
  2. Ditching the name would be a brilliant idea. Was one of the first things that came up after hearing about them getting bought out. That if they want to ever get anywhere they need to shed that horrifically tarnished name.
  3. Indeed. Something to just say "Hey, you've been around for a while and spent money when things were crazily priced. A lot of it. We appreciate that.". It's not necessary nor their problem of course. I just think it would be a really kind gesture on their part. They could use some junk items they've been sitting on forever and I'd be ecstatic about it. Wouldn't matter what it was. Just some kind of cheesey item based on X spent or something.
  4. The more I look at it the more I prefer the newer style. It has a lot more character than what RTW had made. Of course either is miles better then what we have now.. so at least it can't get much worse? But, yeah. I think I'd rather see them stay the course. The 3.5 upgrade previews look a hell of a lot better. Even if they got carried away with the bloom again. Here's a random comparison someone did ages ago of two old versions:
  5. ...I never noticed how it looks. It's silhouette is a bit strange. Great. Thanks for pointing out something I'll never be unable to unsee now.
  6. Don't really think there's too much else to do besides this at the moment. If I recall correctly there was an event to get free joker boxes. So what people would do is make alternate accounts to claim them on and mail the legendary prizes back to their main account. I think. Been a while and by that point I had already all but checked out from anything APB.
  7. Credit to you on listening to what the majority wanted. I do not rightly care one way or the other personally. Just happy to see the players getting listened to.
  8. Kinda. Some of the changes were performance related while others were simply developer preference. Aaaand now I'm going to stop posting for a bit. Feel like I'm spamming up this thread.
  9. Been an ongoing thing for a good while now. Royal pain in the arse to get into social.
  10. SPCT - hell yes. They assisted with everything under the freaking sun in a lot of cases. Ranging from the bland BVT's, to replicating and verifying bugs, etc. Having that again doesn't sound bad to me. SPCM - Oh god please no. Never again! I was once a part of this program and while there were people that wanted to help.. it was mostly just abused beyond belief. I'd see SPCM's in the bronze district flooring newbies just for funsies. That's not what it was supposed to be about. Yet that's what it became and quite frankly I think it would again. Unless there was SIGNIFICANT oversight from G1. Which would be a total waste of resources.
  11. Yes and no. There's no longer the same type of bloom. The 'high quality' star shaped bloom, that is, versus the standard circular blob we have now. Ontop of this they removed a form of emissive light from the majority of in-game objects leading to them looking more dull. Especially at night when object brightness really comes into play.
  12. A third comparison to where APB ended up might be in order. Along with a re-re-re-breakdown of what changed for the worse (at least to some of us).
  13. Looks like the same old stuff? What exactly seemed different?
  14. Yes, and no. Generally the highest rewards are the only ones that hold value to players like me. I have the other guns permanently. I get something that is worthless to me - it serves to clutter my inventory. To me it has a negative value because of that reason. Save for those one or two super-ultra-mega-rare rewards I mentioned. Those are the only ones that have any meaning in my case. Otherwise I'm receiving something I already have and need to jump through hoops to delete. I can't even give it to someone who could actually use the darn thing. I've heard a good number of rants about this too. You get a lease that is of little value to the player typically - if any at all. Woo. It really annoys the folks I talk to.

    Twitch prime loot

I've tried out games I wouldn't have ever bothered with because I got them for free/free stuff in them. Twitch Prime definitely draws in a lot of attention from a crowd that kinda gets missed otherwise. Would be pretty awesome of them to do this if they can get the game fixed up. Would be one hell of a chance to show off what they achieved.
  16. A few select places have passed laws for it. Though I think perception is a bigger problem. Lootboxes are viewed as the lowest of the low right now. GW2 tried to defend cosmetic loot boxes recently and got shredded in gaming news outlets. Only game getting a pass in the public eye is Overwatch. If this games monetization stays predatory it'll be near impossible to shake the bad rep. Of which the game already has enough of clinging to it with a deathgrip.
  17. If they are doing this to avoid certain conflicts with laws.. I'm not sure it'd even work. A few places put policies into place because of games like Overwatch and Battlefront 2. Neither of which allow trading to begin with.
  18. If anything I think the game needs more money sinks. Ones that have a greater impact on people that buy armas stuff n' things. Right now the main costs come from leasing weapons, buying vehicles, mods, etc. Many of which are one offs. Ontop of which they are pretty much wholly bypassed if you spend real money on armas. Leaving massive sums of APB$ to flow into the game with no means of getting it back out. Sooo.. I can't really agree with killing one of the only effective long-term means of removing currency.

    OCA, why is?

So. The OCA has a crazily short TTK with the accuracy to make it happen. I could go on a whole tirade about every last detail, but why? It's in a better spot then every other SMG is. The buffs it received a ways back were simply not needed. It was already an incredibly popular weapon capable of doing exactly what it needed to VERY well.
  20. Fancy. This was a desperately needed update. The old forums were slow and full of problems. Can't exactly argue with them doing this. Also hello again. Feels weird saying that again after lurking on the old forums for years.

  22. Technically they buffed it. Technically. Although I'd argue in favor of the old version being better. It had it's own niche and specialty. The new one is a sad automatic carbine at the end of the day.
