Finally a post in the APB manner, just like in the good old times when this forum was worth of paying a visit.

Given I always have all the game sounds off when I play the game and strictly rely on visuals, I could swear both OPGL and OSMAW projectiles have smoke trails, pinpointing the approximate or exact location where those come from. Anyway, unless they are really good with their secondary weapons (or they resort to the car gameplay style), they usually tend to be easy targets.

I understand the concept but not the reasoning behind it. If someone is having a good time and fun by playing a video-game, that alone should be incentive enough. If a game fails to deliver it, and can't live up to our expectations, well, there are always other games or activities to keep us entertained.

Small titles with smaller but dedicated playerbases are always better, anyway.

I hate to say it, but that unfortunately does make sense.

Looks like some kind of a rhetorical poll, to be frank. In a practical manner, it doesn't make any sense.

If you are starting the game via Steam, try running Steam as administrator, that could be one of possible solutions. Other than that, you should check if your firewall or/and Anti-Virus aren't blocking your connection to the server. I had the same issue, I wasn't able to connect for a year or so, in my case the issue was with the anti-cheat APB had at time, but I am not sure what was the actual problem. In the worst case scenario, you can contact support and put in a ticket. Hopefully some computer savvy people here will have a suggestion what else you could look into.

Most of the issues the creator addressed in their video can't really be attributed to LO. To summarize the video - they do not fancy the weapon changes, but they will continue playing this game we love to hate and play at the same time.

One is not edgy enough for APB if they are not playing on minimal settings on their high-end computers, anyway. So you should be fine, after all.

My craptop begs to differ. Not just a few of people I know in the game play on their high-end computers, constantly crashing and complaining about their computer performance, whilst I have none of those issues, ever.

I played this with an integrated Intel HD Graphics graphics card, it was somewhat playable (30-40 fps) and then I bought a new computer and got... another integrated Intel HD graphics card and it is working just fine (60-80 fps). With the right settings and computer optimizations, the game is playable even on a pocket calculator. The quality of graphics is, however, entirely another story.

The threat segregation is not useless. I am fairly certain all those bronze players who go 1-10 against you or similar high silvers/low golds, would agree on this. Nothing is broken either. The real issue lies in the low population which affects the matchmaking system. Speaking of getting the gold threat in a bronze district, well, that's somethin inevitable for the majority, a person can go from Trainee to Gold without firing a single bullet in like 10-15 missions. Edit: I apologize for the derailing, we should stay on the subject.

Everyone has their own play style, but mine is close to something you described. I compensate for my bad aim with being a sneaky backstabber. Outsmarting my, often more skilled opponents, is probably the most amusing aspect of the game to me, at least when we are discussing playstyles. Being aware of the fact I would probably lose one on one, face to face encounters due my aim and use of unconventional weapons, I resort to making diversions, using my teammates or world elements as distraction, just to be able to flank or come from behind. Retreat is always an option, whether it is for gathering again with teammates or for luring an opponent into a trap, I giggle every time when my opponents meet a brick around a corner instead of me whom they are chasing. Oh those whispers.

Oh, thank you for the clarification. Shame, they should really make it a standard practice.

The name purge, if I am not wrong, already happened once, as you can see it here. However I believe this should happen at least once per year, perhaps even biannually. I spend about an hour creating my new character and way more than that looking for a free name I like.

There are some great suggestions in this thread, I am not very optimistic on seeing those being actualized any time soon, but we can still hope some of these suggestions will be realized at some point.

The community: We are bored (by playing the video game?), give us some events! The company: We'd gladly do that but we're being busy working on the engine upgrade. The community: EVENTS!!! The company: Okay, here's an Event, enjoy. The community: No one wants any events, we want the engine upgrade. The company: It's fine, we are still working on the upgrade, you can still have the event in the meanwhile, while waiting. The community: Nobody cares, mate.

I know, I know! But once G1 officially stated using the Advanced Launcher is perfectly safe and fine, the majority of people who were against the use of the launcher finally stopped with their faux claims regarding it, I sincerely hope that will be the case with the custom configs, too. I am well aware of the fact, no matter what, there will always be those people looking for various excuses to somehow justify their own in-game incompetence. Despite having a very powerful desktop computer, I find playing on my relatively old laptop more comfortable and I have been using the Advanced Launcher and some configs since ever for extra convenience, hence I am eagerly looking forward to having some of those configs officially approved.

What is a battle pass? Never mind, I have DuckDuckGo'ed it. Reminds me of those brilliant daily events we used to have, which unfortunately, got vastly abused. Sounds like a good idea, but I believe LO is being way too busy to introduce any new systems.

APB is like an encyclopedia of oddities, strange and fiddly things, one could often find unsettling. It is highly advised to avoid discussing such things. What happens in San Paro, stays in San Paro, they say.
