I remember my husband managed somehow to recover most of the data, including SMS messages, from my broken phone by using some recovery software. Perhaps you can see if there is a way to do it yourself, too. Other than that, waiting for the Support to assist in this matter is the only thing you can do, unfortunately.

This should still be relevant, I assume.

Is there going to be a fix for the HUD bug.
Bambola replied to mattskoii's topic in Bugs and Tech Issues
Almost two years later, it's still there... and doesn't get anything less annoying over the years. Au contraire. -
This game is finally dead in a way.

Perhaps this is slightly off topic, but it's certainly an interesting anecdote and something people making these kinds of threads should consider. There is this rather cute, young couple which started to play this game recently, yes they are bronze, totally clueless but really sociable and expressive, fun people to have around with a refreshing attitude. They plan to invest some money but they aired their concerns in the chat, saying they were on the APB forum and even on the main page they have seen a couple of threads saying the game is dead. Of course, they have got a full spectrum of opposite opinions in the chat, but I believe the district chat consensus settled that as long as you can have someone to play with, opposition to play against, and some laughs in between, the game is not really dead. -

No one argues the present continuous tense, but the simple past tense. I believe the game, in the current state, isn't for anyone. Personally speaking, I couldn't care less going occasionally 1:20 in a match against cheaters or highly efficient premades, as long as I have some kick and giggles here and there, it's fine to me. I perfectly understand people being unable to cope with it and I respect their decision to leave, but I expect them to treat in the same way those who are willing to stay. -

Which is, on the other hand, certainly better than being active just on the forum and stating the same. -

I can't argue that, more of an active and immediate moderation would be welcomed and most appreciated. -

I wouldn't say the people who still play APB are necessarily believers (whatever "copium" might stand for), they just log in and play a bit without giving much thought to it, especially if we speak of those casual bronze districts. I doubt anyone comes online expecting anything else from what APB has been for years now. As long as you can join districts, ready up and get some opposition, the game isn't completely dead and I guess that's what the majority cares about. No expectations, no disappointments, they take APB as it is, with all its flaws. -
Aside from having noticeably less players online, APB hasn't changed a bit for quite some time. One can still have some kicks and giggles, at least on Citadel, and yes, APB can still be entertaining enough if dosed properly. Edit: Almost forgot, a nice video

Any form of disrupting (griefing) another player's game experience for any reason is absolutely unacceptable and should be dealt with accordingly, and by that I mean with a permanent ban. I do not know why and how, despite their direct stance, the Support or GMs aren't taking action to tackle this issue with great haste, especially in evident cases, but perhaps a temporary expedient could be not to stream your gameplay. Yes, I am aware of how it sounds, but it will definitely hinder griefers' actions if you are being targeted via streams, and will practically indicate an immediate action has to be taken by the company, once they realize the game is not being streamed at all. You can hear certain individuals openly saying "I am going to stream snipe you now" and then they grief you knowing there will be no repercussions for their misdoings. I am also well aware of the Naming and Shaming policy, but let's be real, everyone would be pleased to see a post by LO saying "We have taken action against X number of offenders for griefing and they have been permanently banned on their main and all associated accounts" without even bringing up their names. I am clearly not a savvy but how difficult could it be to finally deal with those nuisances and make an example of them by punitive sentencing? *insert "It's time to stop" meme*

Half of Jericho is on Citadel anyway, playing their already mid-high ranks. I know, that's not a solution, but works well as a temporary solution.

I occasionally get the 3-day trade lock, I am not quite certain why, I suppose because I am not always playing from the same location, nor the same computer. However, I don't really mind it in my case, I rarely buy or sell anything. On the other hand, I find it quite annoying when we speak of the new players. When I started out playing this game, a decent car, theme, symbol and some mods were gifted to me by a random player and I promised to keep that "tradition". Quite often it happens I meet a well-mannered and eloquent new player, yet unfortunately cannot gift them anything due the trade lock they have for three long days.

If we have been waiting for 7 years, I do not see why waiting for a couple of years more would be a problem. Besides, once and whenever that (in)famous upgrade goes live, it will be so awkward when we realize there's nothing more we have to wait for.
-
Dethreating has never been a problem, the real problem has always been the players' mindset. Whether they play in silver or bronze districts, one can have a higher threat, be noticeably more skilled than their opponents and still behave sportingly without having a need to openly humiliate and torment less skilled players.

No one actually whished happy anniversary back to LO, everyone has just popped out with their wish lists instead. As a fellow mason, I share the same concerns.

Threat Segregation and NA bein' dead

An evergoing Cornelian dilemma. -
Seeing 11 years have passed, it's chucklesome when you think to yourself some people you play this with and against, were 6-7 years old when you started to play the game.

Oh my, but why? Accepting the chaos is better than trying to fight it. Nothing wrong with being a little bit mischievous from time to time and creating some loud mess in FC.

I agree with everything said, and I am glad my sarcasm haven't slipped through unnoticed, people tend to miss it. -

Besides, what one would do otherwise whilst waiting for a mission to start than practicing some shooting on their teammates. -
I do not know, it kind of adds another layer to the APB roleplay, an angry Russian villain on the loose, lawlessly and violently roaming the streets of a Southern Californian metropolis. Whilst his power continues to be felt over San Paro and its citizens, no one in this new world understands the dangers of stopping him better than Hexerin, a vigilante of justice. He also knows he's the only one who stands a chance. Will Hex succeed, it is an uncertain future... *Intense action background music*

Can Jericho Merge with Citadel already?
Bambola replied to Shimmer's topic in General Discussion Archive
That's perfectly understandable and I take your point. Even though I wouldn't personally like APB to grow its playerbase by some large amounts and get like dozens of thousands players, for the game's sake, I hope it will. I do not know what people expect the (in)famous engine upgrade to drastically change, but I am afraid the majority is harboring unrealistic expectations. APB has a small, but more importantly devoted and loyal fan base, yet it is a very old game, with its playerbase being around for nostalgic reasons and as such I do not see it attracting many new players. Call me a cheerful pessimist, but I hold doubts the game will surpass its population numbers from 2013-2015 ever again, at least not in the long run. -
Can Jericho Merge with Citadel already?
Bambola replied to Shimmer's topic in General Discussion Archive
Speaking of the Jericho community, I am of the same mind. I felt like home over there more than I ever did on Citadel, I guess that's one of the advantages of small communities (and basically the reason why I'd never like to see APB becoming a widely popular title, despite all downsides of staying a small one as it is). The community is noticeably less virulent and most conflicts are on the level of some local bantering. At one point, for that reason, I even gave up playing on Citadel and ended up with a couple of max ranks over there. Now the performance is entirely another story, right, playing with like 150ms+ is not quite forgiving, but after some time one adapts perfectly, l could rarely rightfully blame the delay for any of my misdoings. I could use it as an excuse sometimes, though ^^; Apparently we somehow subconsciously calculate that delay in, after we get used to it. I know not just a handful of more or less dear people from Jericho having their alts on Citadel, and would be happy to see them on Citadel on their already familiar to me main characters. Personally, if I'd have to chose between having a greater latency or an empty server, I'd certainly pick the former.
