  1. Oooo this is pretty cool! Although I gotta ask out of curiosity - given we have BattlEye now I thought getting into districts to do rips was impossible?
  2. +1 for this, I love the heck out of it and its become my go to semi-auto rifle choice for non run&gun duty. Especially post-buffs.
  3. Clearly its time for Matt to pull out the IP Hammer on him.....
  4. Do they really? The only thing different between the screenies RP released and the current running game is the overall lighting and tone-mapping. Something that has already been change at least once before in APB:Rs lifetime without the game rendering being really "improved". And has been pointed out also, we don't know how legit those screenshots are (the videos that were released are more believable, but only asylum really looks like a drastic change).
  5. The console ports Reloaded did do one heck of a job defying that notion however.....
  6. That change has been reverted, Improved Rifling is back to working the way it always has under G1/RP
  7. I've used it a lot actually, and post-buff Misery can be really good as a 2 or 3 round burst rifle with the right mods. But when it comes to 50m showdowns there's still always the horizontal drift fighting I have to do and the long wait between bursts, things I just don't have to deal with when I use the ntec.
  8. It also has more pronounced horizontal recoil, slower bloom recovery and a notable bloom spike after the third shot, greatly restricting tap-fire consistency at the further ranges. Hence its not popular even among the people who bought the Rev Pack.
  9. huh, ok this sounds like a fun-ish excercise. here's one: Misery. EDIT: and come up with something other than it being a 5shot kill gun please.
  10. Didn't you make the claim that "other assault rifles have better characteristics than the ntec"? Why do I have to come up with the examples?
  11. I don't disagree, but given how the shotgun rework was a pretty big pill to swallow already (by a playerbase that is very touchy about meta landscape changes) I'm assuming Matt and team might be getting hesitant about adding further pills there for now. which other assault rifles?
  12. Given the polarised response to some of the other re-balance changes (mostly Improved Rifling), LO seems to have backed off of any further re-balancing for the time being. I guess they're waiting to get other stuff out of the way first (maybe to build up some positive impression) before coming back to it.
  13. I doubt they have much actual work anyway, they're basically like mall cops with only a D battery flashlight and their voice to enforce order with.
  14. Someone else asked in suggestions and Matt said they were investigating or so, but that was months ago:
  15. You all have some really big graphical dreams for this game don't ya....
  16. I guarantee once the new engine rolls around and people go back to relying on tracer effects as part of their gameplay decision making, silenced guns like the reaper will see more prominence.
  17. Who would even care to start rumors like these anyway?
  18. I've been guilty of this on occasion (without the passing blame part) and I've always wondered about it - is it better to wait it out and hope your CQC guy survives or just chance a shot to make his fight easier?
  19. Weapon balance is complicated, even they have admitted to being overly hasty about some of the changes. Also, yeah lets totally go and forget about all the other weapons that got improvements during their first weapon balance. Do you honestly care? With how empty those districts always were I don't think you (or anyone else for that matter) really do. a) Halloween is a culture thing that's bigger than one game so I dunno how LO could "ruin" it, and b) Rough as it was I still prefer the new mode to doing headless horseman season #356781 (or something like that I lost count) again. I haven't played all the affected missions but from what I have seen the stage just times out and it progresses to the next stage. It isn't hard to guess that he travels that much because the company teams are spread across different continents. You want to him to what, stop showing up in person to communicate with his teams? That would make things worse, not better.
  20. I get the feeling I'm not really gonna convince you then, but I'm fine with that. If the guy with Remote Det was gonna HVR or NTEC for that stage you wouldn't even see a hint of his car anyway so I don't see how that situation compares. IME the players who know how to use it are already running CQC loadouts in the first place, so in those kinds of encounters an otherwise contestable fight becomes much less so because of the mod.
  21. Because sometimes getting to mission objectives requires you to cross open spaces? You can't stay in cover 100% of the time on missions.
  22. This is true if you take Remote Detonator by itself, but mods in APB don't exist in a vacuum. None of this can really work if the guy with the trigger can just coast the car toward you and spray you down while you try to get away. Even if you both die at the end, that still means you the victim died, as intended.
  23. Even if you're fast enough to get away from the vehicle (and unless you have static cover you'll still get hurt if not killed) the guy triggering it will be firing at you the whole time more often than not. So you either die to the explosion or die to the driver firing at you. That's the major annoyance of Remote Det IMO, the right vehicle mods let you setup Morton's Fork situations to get easier kills by just throwing the car at the target.
  24. I predict the simplest fix for this will be them disabling arrests while playing the mode....
