Am I the only one using decent graphic settings?
Nite replied to Seedy's topic in General Discussion Archive
Remember this chart from the latest engine upgrade progress thread? Those 0.1% lows for the LIVE run are presumably what the potato graphics players with monster rigs are trying to avoid. I don't know if it actually works, but that's the theory I last heard. -
Found it, it was this suggestion:

The best HMS change I could think of would be pinning it to the heavy sniper weapons, but that's not really a HMS issue. Wasn't there a suggestion about ways to make heavy barrel viable on shotguns some time ago? We could try that....

What do you think about Car Surfer?
Nite replied to xPanzerShrekx's topic in General Discussion Archive
Would be nice if it was more anchored, so you don't slip off if the car gets more than a certain degree off-balance relative to ground level. Otherwise its whatever... -
To get "jiggle physics" on characters they need a rig setup to support it. Given how character customization works now I don't think they could just add that in without ground-up changes.
-
Yeah no way is LO gonna redesign all the character assets to support that kind of gimmick

Little Orbit, please avoid predatory videogame monetization

Maybe the reasoning they've chosen is some variant of "if we redirect attention to our regular upfront micro-transactions more and more then our existing scummy gambling mechanics won't look too scummy!" -
I've held the opinion that most of the "p2w" being bandied about re: APB is a communication issue - the game miscommunicates (is that even a word idk) the value of some weapons vs. others with the weird scoreboard/elsewhere icon coloring for many weapons, it doesn't clearly communicate what weapons a fresh player can and cannot access at rank 1 vs rank <insert max value here> and it doesn't really point out that the joker store is important and that you, the newcomer, stay on top of it. We'll need to deal with that at some point while we fix everything else with the game (preferably via tutorial changes). also thanks @Ketog for helping to keep my dream suggestion alive!

Removed teammate was allowed back in after Backup request?
Nite replied to Shimmer's topic in General Discussion Archive
If someone in your mission team is also in a group, and some of the group members are not in the same mission team and they're out of mission, they'll be first to get called in as backup if your mission team requests it. Though, if the troll was trolling everyone in the mission team I dunno why the groupmate would keep him around.... -
@MattScott Are you able to hint at what in particular could be causing this (and what kind of hardware is seeing the performance regression) or is that a cards-close-to-chest thing for now?
-
Is it any at all possible that the supposed advantage is an illusion being bought into?
-
Only to the ones who seriously expect it to actually double their framerate, in which case, oh well.
-
We don't? EDIT: I mean, there's always this: https://www.gamersfirst.com/marketplace/ingame/product_details.php?storetype=g1c&gameID=20&catID=65&subcatID=204&productId=2118 The rest of the look is just symbols and color choice so...

Why is the Talon so garbage and Fang so brokenly OP?
Nite replied to a topic in General Discussion Archive
That single-letter thing is more about new users being more likely to not know where we are with weapon balance and/or what's going on with the RFPs in general. Not that I think they can fix the issue once and for all or whatever. -
Why is the Talon so garbage and Fang so brokenly OP?
Nite replied to a topic in General Discussion Archive
Imma be honest, I'm more so peeved how its Pair of Socks (who reads this forum religiously I'm sure) bringing up this topic instead of some random months old tag with a single-letter profile pic. Every forum vet here (is that even a term) knows we're going in circles about weapon balance till the engine upgrade happens. -

You think LO doesn't know it is given the myriad past discussions about it? -
Why is the Talon so garbage and Fang so brokenly OP?
Nite replied to a topic in General Discussion Archive
Why did this topic need to come up again for the umpteenth time? That's the real question here. -
Would be nice if we got a 5 second sprint feature when carrying medium/heavy items, would make item transport way less of a crawlfest...

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the reply!

(Slightly technical) Curious question - is that the Multithreaded Rendering that DX11 does (immediate context/deferred context) Or is it some other method? There's the mention of consolidating between console and PC but from what I've read, PS4/XB1 use a whole different style of multithreaded rendering (which DX11 doesn't support afaik) Gonna be interesting to see that play out since DX11 multithreaded rendering doesn't get mentioned much as being the popular solution...

Halting all weapon balance changes was a major mistake
Nite replied to Nitronik's topic in General Discussion Archive
COBR-A, ISSR-A, AR-97, S-247 already got buffed though, I don't think you can really buff those any further without making them the new top performers. Same for the S1-FA unless you want them to just make it another NTEC reskin and be done with it.... -
The forum labels do lend more weight to the credibility of any info the members are given freedom to share, which, could be useful down the line if the secrecy level ever loosens up for things like future content. At the very least it saves the actual QA personnel from having to open themselves up to the forum-goers directly to share tidbits of upcoming content...

If your parents are giving you an allowance, have them get you a VISA debit card. Works for online payments just as well but doesn't involve the whole "spending money now that doesn't fully belong to you until you pay it back later" thing that credit cards do.

Carspawner only exists in 2 minute intervals and with how many mid-stages are 3 to 4 minutes max, your use of them gets really strangled until you reach a final stage. And that was a change the G1 team made.
