Why the hell would you nerf the OBIR's mobility?
Snubnose replied to Hexerin's topic in General Discussion Archive
exactly. I can't believe so many people are crying about this change... it won't affect anything else the obir does so well, it only prevents people from abusing that one thing. -
isn't it pretty obvious that both are needed to properly test things?... yes, you have to field-test things and not just look at the stats, but field testing with knowing what exactly you got in your hands is so much better. otherwise sometimes you just don't know what's going on in certain situations if you lack information... both is critical to proper testing. theory and practice.

good changes for the obir. I haven't played in a long time so I can't say how it is right now, but back when I still played only few used the obir switch, even though it's way too powerful. for a time I've mained obir + jersey devil and cornered a lot... it's so easy finishing people up close with the JD when you already stole 490hp with a burst around the corner... lowyield nade changes are interesting... they obviously need some change... test A sounds real good... lowyields have always been easier to pinpoint on targets (atleast for me, by a lot) so pushing them more into the "precise nade" category with reduced radius and damage is a good move I think. but will test A LYG's still kill in 2 hits? what about test B? I think test B is also a nice approach to change them, even though I'm not a fan of the timer reduction... please give us some numbers on damage

about that stream... I guess it's going to be like the first Q&A where you have most questions prepared beforehand... will you also answer questions from the stream chat after you've gone through your list? or is anything going to be different about this Q&A compared to the last one? I'm really looking forward to this Q&A, hoping that we'll get even more 'transparency'

well... there' still the option to create a new account for that... don't know if that's allowed or like a grey area.. or ask a trusted friend with an open slot to try out names... anyway, I wish they'd bring back gifting... would solve your problem and be benefitial for the community overall... -

here's hoping I'm getting some love... anyway, good idea making people earn some JT's to test new balance changes. is this event going to be something like "kill x players with *testweapon*"? would make sense to make people actually use the test weapons to earn JT's... -
but you can't say that taking away like 500 of it's damage when not fully accurate was not a nerf... it's not as forgiving in close quarters anymore... no more jumping around or quick crouching and shooting... you actually have to wait to get to 100% accuracy to do the full damage. although I would've preferred a damage nerf to like 750 more...

well, since LO took over there have been quite some changes... sure, no real gamechanger, but I wouldn't call it minor. trading system yukon fix HVR nerf some more underpowered guns buffed finished the RIOT mode RP has left over (I enjoyed it for a few days, but it's nothing APB can have as a main gamemode) showstopper legendary + regular version new glory legendary a nice set of new decals tons of guns permanently available for JT's a few new weapon skins nice price reductions on armas overall (even though it could be cheaper.. maybe if the game ever grows bigger...) better customer support (not as useless as the old RP one, but with higher wait times) got rid of the falsebanning trash anticheat called fairfight - replaced. rebalanced some deployables slightly - could use more work though. I've probably missed something... but these are (mostly) some positive changes. these didn't bring me back into the game (although I played for a few days to test RIOT). my main problem with APB is there's nothing for me to do / unlock / grind that's worth it, and what's left of this community is mostly tryharding and / or cheesing with easy "tactics" like detonator, percs, radar tower and all that running with objective bullshoot and I can't be bothered to deal with that shit anymore - because almost everyone is trying to show off they're the best and trying to rub it into everyones face... there's no "chill" gameplay anymore - it's all about the meta and trying to be competetive AF. I will be coming back to APB when the engine update hits (since it'll bring new contacts with some content), but I doubt it can hold me for long if nothing major happens about all the things mentioned above - mainly getting rid of explosive radius car mod (to nerf detonator) and changing the way percs and spotter works... there's still just too much ways of gameplay that are just straight up bullshoot.

APB Brand and IP expanding in Asia
Snubnose replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
something as unique as APB with high potential to be a lot more than it is, but failed to thrive is probably easy to resell... everyone's like "I'm gonna do it! I'm gonna make this game great!", but it seems like everyone is equally blinded by the "potential" and "uniqueness" part that they miss the whole lot of bullshoot that's underneath the surface... that's why it needs a whole new, modernised "APB 2" - built from ground up. -
APB Brand and IP expanding in Asia
Snubnose replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
for anyone interested, here's some UI work posted a year ago for the APB mobile game (walk the line): https://www.artstation.com/artwork/9YYOR the third picture has a placeholder screenshot with the UI work for the mobile game ontop TBH, I didn't have much hope for APB before this, and now it's even less... APB:R may live a little longer and gets better support for a few more years thanks to the financial boost, but now I really doubt that something like a second APB game (no, mobile doesn't count) made from ground up will ever see the light of day... I really had some hope that the UE4 update turns into a bigger project and brings us a modernised "APB 2". so what exactly does this mean for the UE4 update / APB 2? -
Weapon Prototype District Feedback 1.20.0 (1159)

off topic, but I'm interested in what kind of stuff you're doing at gamescom... can you go a little more into details? -
bugs bugs bugs ... and a future concern.
Snubnose replied to Tigrix's topic in General Discussion Archive
that also happens to regular grenades sometimes... it's mostly noticed when spamming nades on a carspawn closeby and they just lie there for a few seconds... sometimes they get swallowed too. and yea, this is kind of a gamebreaking bug that has been in APB for ages.. -
to be fair, it's not just a placebo... I'd recommend watching this: when I turned on raytracing in battlefield 5, my FPS tanked from the average of 110 fps to just slightly above 60, barely reaching 75. and I've felt it in gameplay... it didn't feel as smooth anymore... mostly because worse input lag though.
-
turn off v-sync and any kind of frame smoothing stuff... with a 60hz monitor you'll get to a cap of 101 I think... only if you have a 144hz monitor you'll be able to reach the 145 cap.

Weapon Prototype Districts 1.20.0 (1158)
Snubnose replied to Lixil's topic in General Discussion Archive
should've just made the RFP less accurate... why give RFP a huge rework but not do something about the fact that the SNR and harbinger are trash? feels like priority is off... maybe don't rework things completely but just tweak slightly... (you've seen what happened with shotgun changes that changed too much at once and what kind of a shitstorm it sparked) -
worst case scenario: APB dies withing 1-2 years because UE3.5 was underwhelming and further updates to the game can't spark more interest for new and old players to play. best case scenario: APB UE4 update actually turns into a bigger project - "APB 2"

matt already said we're getting 2 new haircuts with the engine update... probably more after that at some point...

New JMB legendary drop rate and disclosure
Snubnose replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
a little bit off-topic, but hearing more and more about new plans for the future of APB makes me believe we'll never get account merging (since it's a lower priority than fixing the game itself)... I was one of the victims falsely banned under fairfight, and now I'm sitting on 2 accounts with great value. I'd definitely pay for a merge (provided that I'd make a "comeback" to APB). so yea, any news on account merging matt? probably something you'd still like to do, but not in the near future, right? -
I guess if you really can't wait ~2 weeks for an answer from support you can update this post with your ticket # and hope for an admin to notice.

Does Leaning change the hit box size?
Snubnose replied to Seedy's topic in General Discussion Archive
yea I mean models, but it's literally just a flat 1 pixel wide thing so it does seem like "just a texture", if you know what I mean.
