"...let's not flame this thread with criticism. This is a big milestone for the game. Let's enjoy it!" -Matt Scott but muh strimur!!!1!!1 I could also cry about why they didn't invite my boy Leefekyn, because he's my favorite APB streamer. bad luck I guess, but who cares? it's going into open beta shorty after anyway...

here's the full pic: obviously, this is ancient.. pre-alpha ancient. so no, this ain't one of the new haircuts. ...god this is horrible to look at

hey, I already opened a ticket (#114445) and I felt like trying my luck by bumping it on the forum... support response times are ~8 days currently and I think this is pretty urgent because it directly affects gameplay. wouldn't want to wait a whole week for a solution... also, anyone else experiencing packet loss (fluctuating between 1 and 12), combined with the occasional latency spike? I've asked others ingame and their connections are fine... just wondering if only some players are affected by this. (I already checked my end, my connection is clear and every other game, discord and teamspeak work perfectly fine.)

umm yea kinda out of the blue but, what about that world consolidation... I know, engine update is priority #1. but I still wonder where world consolidation is at, or if it's planned to be finished before or after the engine update hits live. (I guess after, because you reeeally want that engine update out of the way) last update I heard was that it's going to happen "october 2019": "In October after releasing names, we will be finally consolidating Jericho and Citadel giving our players the ability to play any character in any region." I guess the decision to blast through engine update development happened shortly after that... anyway, now that the engine update is ACTUALLY around the corner, I'd like to know if it's time to talk about what's on the priority list after the engine update?

Engine Upgrade - Beta Stream Announcement
Snubnose replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
will the streams (and / or later open beta build) have the EMP nade? -
damn.. I remember enjoying robocraft for a few weeks on and off... few years later checked it out again and it was all about "flying shotgun drone" meta... RIP, nice game with great potential... also, these guys are pretty much exactly where APB is right now... I think most players leave in the first few minutes / hours of playing APB... what it mostly needs to keep new players is a proper tutorial to explain the games basics (no, not text to read, but an actual tutorial mission with a contact TALKING to you, telling you what to do). and also improved matchmaking, which is the hardest part considering the games playercount and being restricted to 1 district - and this is where phasing comes in... a proper tutorial, district phasing and more strict matchmaking should be release WITH, NOT AFTER the engine update. because lots of players will return, and some new players will too (especially old players returning, telling their friends to join). if the engine update releases without a proper "first time experience", which it probably will, its bound to fail. you might have the chance to update the game with district phasing, matchmaking and a proper tutorial afterwards, but you already had a great loss not doing it with the EU. (real question is: what loss is bigger, the people that left APB in the time these things were developed, or the people that never gave APB the chance it deserved because of no proper tutorial and matchmaking?) we already have new contacts with "filler content" coming with the EU to make some long time fans happy, but there's gotta be something in it for the new players too. I pray that LO is doing the smart thing here, even if it means the EU is being delayed for a few more weeks / month. it's not like we can get any more disappointed by waiting than now. while writing this, I opened a topic about it.

I feel like APB needs to improve its first time experience with the engine update, because many new players don't give APB the chance it deserves since they're completely lost in "who do I shoot, what do I do" limbo for too long and lose interest / get frustrated and leave. not only does it need a proper tutorial, matchmaking also needs to improve - and this is where district phasing comes in, which allows more strict matchmaking to take place across a broader spectrum.

no, they did not copy this game... after a quick search on the interwebz the release date of the DBD "cursed legacy" update was 3. Dez 2019. the oni symbol has been teased long before that, with the RIOT ARG which was about a year ago. also, this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oni

Matt, Y'all need an Ambient Occlusion Pass
Snubnose replied to Eyepop's topic in General Discussion Archive
ontop of that, the sky is too bright and cyan (needs a little nudge to blue) and wtf happened to the ground textures? the bigger rocks make it a lot more noticable that it's a flat texture, whereas the finer gravel kinda hides it better. also, why are there dark blobs all over the ground suddenly? also, the foliage (mainly grass) still looks like it's out of a cartoon, with that black outline... -
remember halloween 2019 when LO said they'd like to have a beta for us christmas 2019, or "shortly after"?.. yea, clearly it's always "starting soon"... 30 days seems a bit agressive, right? :^) anyway, good to know it's actually close now. although I'm more interested in what's coming for APB after the EU released.

APB 2 graphic - please dont do this
Snubnose replied to AxeTurboAgresor's topic in General Discussion Archive
what about saturation and gamma sliders in the options? pretty sure you've once answered this question and said it would be a nice feature to add... is that still a thing you'd like to have? is there a chance we could have it with the release of the engine update, or rather after its launch? ontop of overall lighting, people can adjust the colours to their own taste to a certain degree. that would be awesome, and almost everyone would be happy with it that way. -
Message from Matt - Blog Post (March 2020)
Snubnose replied to Ritual's topic in General Discussion Archive
yea that blogpost wasn't needed... should've been a forum post. also: -
perhaps they noticed the bad feedback and are reconsidering adding yet another gambling box
-
aight so untill then, keep milkin'! :^) I know, I know... LO needs to make money.. and there's nothing wrong with releasing armas content (as long as it's not p2w). but come on, they could really try harder and maybe release this weapon as a standalone (or with some new clothes / bodykit) and a joker store variant with less slots, and later on when they got their new legendary weapon system implemented make a legendary variant of the base weapon, with some special mod and it's skin... I mean you know how bad it looks to the "outside community" of APB (the people that once played, but haven't in a looong time, waiting for the engine update) when LO releases payed content... it's especially bad if payed content is a gambling box. @MattScott maybe release some more joker store items while you're at it... (more bodykits and clothes mainly), so free to play players (or people who really don't feel like buying gambling boxes) have something to look forward to aswell... I mean you wanted to keep updating the joker store for some while, but we haven't seen much of that since the one big update with the weapons dropped...
-
yea umm, didn't they at some point say they'd implement some kind of new system for legendary weapons?
-
can we revert APB again and go back to 2006?

this is awesome! might as well use the opportunity to ask if this section will be update with more wallpapers / art? https://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/media -
while they're at it they can balance it out by telling players that they've been spotted...
-
I really appreciate the transparency (and open-mindedness) with issues like this and in general, so back in the day we would've gotten a "have you run a tracert yet?" at best - or no response at all, with the issue left hanging there for month, even years.
-
I'm all for it. just All Points Bulletin is fine. anyway, I'm not sure if they're still able to actually rename it back to it's original title since they've sold the whole franchise except APB: Reloaded. probably the rights to the name "All Points Bulletin" are now in the hands of UNIT GAME... @MattScott an official word on this topic, please?
-
pretty sure they already mentioned that they'd like to give us some crosshair options in the future... in the meantime - use ReShade. it's whitelisted by EAC and LO also gave green light to use it!
-
obviously the eyes are floating behind the character... otherwise the snowman or pumpkin head masks would make us blind!
