It shutdown on the 16th of September 2016. Allow me to clarify. They ALLREADY had a server status Widget but it's currently broken. And yes an app or a little Thing on the APB launcher would be ideal. A simple Ping to the server would work i guess. They were updating the server status thing i just wish it was on the launcher. (if i recall it was updating correctly a simple switch flip when the game is under maintenance)

HAN Is getting Migrated to Jericho, there are no server swaps. We are being COMBINED into Jericho. Merge and Migrate are 2 different words. When you move a cup to another table. You are not Combining the cup and the table (your not batman)
