Welp, different fixes for different guns. Logic when balancing should not all just be black and white, the Ogre just needed the description changed, Yukon needed its RoF fixed. There was a different severity to each each gun's imbalance. In the Yukon's case, the gun needed to be corrected because of how it played out in game. If I recall correctly though, back before G1's last big rebalance with the test districts, didn't the Ogre have a slower fire rate? I remember the increased fire rate was something I wasn't a huge fan of at the time because it didn't give the sound of each shot any time at all to ring out which made it sound less scary and it made me feel scummy using it because it would just melt anyone in its path. Remembering things as I go here, so I may only be remembering convenient things.

I haven't seen a single speed hacker since BE was implemented and I've been playing pretty consistently since then. I've seen people that I THOUGHT were speed hacking, but it turned out to be a GM every time. Support has been really backed up since they took over. I agree that it shouldn't take this long to respond, but think of how backed up they are right now with that thing that happened a few months ago where they got spammed with ~60k tickets. It's not a lack of effort on their part. They're most likely struggling to keep up. If you're saying BE is useless then you don't know what useless is. Do you have ANY idea what APB was like 7 months ago? A few speed hackers in every district, shaw copters everywhere. Now Most of the people who I see that seem suspicious I never end up seeing again.

If they didn't know it was bugged then that's their own damn fault. The information was out there. And who didn't know the Yukon was bugged from the start? It was pretty obvious with the way it functioned, using the burst fire rate as the main fire rate while the non-legendary variants had a waaaaaaay slower fire rate, and the only advertised change in the legendary version was the ability to burst fire in marksman. Common sense should take over at that point. I'll admit I was one of the ones who were abusing it when it was new. It was broken, now it works as intended, get over it. It is still a good gun if you can actually aim.

I don't play on Citadel but on Jericho I've seen some people that might be trigger botting. Might be. They were using the Huntress and you can fire pretty damn fast really easily with that thing. Other than that I haven't been seeing the speed hackers that used to litter every district at all. Matt recently said that they are trying their best with the cheater issue and has always said that no anticheat is 100% perfect. What more can he really say? What do you want from him? He said this 4 days ago. What else can you really ask for, and how can you say they are ignoring the problem? I also don't see how they are trying to create the illusion of happiness if they admit things are bad right now. You're just all over the place grasping for things to be mad about. Stop it.

This shouldn't cause any problems. I used to use a gaming vpn service called WTFast and it actually helped a lot.

The Fresno needs more love in general, it only has one kit and a bunch of potential.

Ok, this picture made me laugh way harder than it should have. Love the idea though! Personally I would put the tree right in the middle of one of those circular platforms in the center and move the spawn points around a little so nobody spawns in the tree.

That'd be BattleEye not letting the game start. There's a section at the end of the Google Doc about how to bypass it, but you can't enter any districts without BE running. So get your character looking how you want them to, then rip them from the main menu. Unfortunately we haven't had any word from Matt or Lixil about whitelisting NinjaRipper or anything.

Your heart is in the right place and you're 100% right about what you said in this post that I quoted, but the idea that cheaters are as common as you say they are and run the community is crazy. The number of cheaters was true 8 months ago, but ever since BattleEye things have been cleaned up significantly. I no longer see people running around at light speed 24/7, I actually only saw what I thought was one speedhacker since BE was implemented, but it turned out it was just a GM running really fast. Not saying they don't exist, just saying that they're uncommon enough for me to have not seen any with how often I play.

Hell, I have a hard time believing that they'd get a positive response on social media if they saved the game and brought it up to today's standards in a single patch. They'd probably complain about the download being too big.

100% Yes. I've been suggesting this for years, even had a link in my signature on the old forum to a Vegas Audio Kit suggestion thread. I'd want more Exhaust sounds too. The Vegas just sounds so weak after they slowed down the engine audio back in 2013 if I remember correctly, it may have been a little earlier than that. I just hope they don't pull a Growl thing and just make the exhausts use the engine sounds of other vehicles. That was stupid and lazy. I'd really love it if they would record new sounds from real muscle cars to use as exhaust audio, because tbh the Vegas just doesn't sound like one anymore. The audio in the vehicle editor got messed up because of that change too. Try it out, it just doesn't sound right. Sounds like the driver is taking it really easy at first and then floors it every time he shifts. I think until the Coywolf and Growl, it was only faction specific vehicles that had audio kits, so that might have something to do with why the Vegas doesn't have one. In districts the Vegas and Cisco replace each other (NPC drivers will either have a Vegas or a Cisco, but not both in the same district) so I'm wondering if it's because they were able to be driven by NPCs that neither the Vegas or Cisco had audio kits considering they are top tier vehicles.

New fight club map for holidays?
BrandonBranderson replied to moxxichixx's topic in General Discussion Archive
They've had these for the Christmas event for quite a few years now. There's even an event centered around it and an OPGL variant that shoots snowballs. My favorite of the Christmas events tbh. -
how to strafe left/right 4 feet each way
BrandonBranderson replied to gordoIsMyName's topic in General Discussion Archive
They might be using Fragile or Mobility Sling. Fragile increases your speed by 14% and Mobility Sling increases your movement speed when in marksmanship by 50 cm per second. -
VRChat can be played without VR on a mouse and keyboard too, and I can't 100% recommend VR with this map in its current state with the bad performance and flickering shadows. Plus I set the movement speed extremely high so I could get around the district faster while testing and I imagine that could get a little disorienting. Thanks! I started it about two or three months ago and I finally got to a point where I felt like I can share my progress. I first started working on Financial, and I got the corner of the district where the skatepark is partially put together, But then I figured Waterfront would be a lot easier to put together because it's not all just squares and The pieces had more unique shapes and the buildings are more distinguishable so I'd be able to tell where they go easier. And I just like the look of Waterfront more.

Waterfront (Night) in VRChat. Most of the doors and windows are still missing, it'll be a long process to fill them all in. I also have a daytime version. It's not public yet so if you want to try it out lemme know and I'll set up a private instance. There are some performance issues and graphical bugs like every shadow flickering when you move your camera since I'm using all dynamic lighting until I'm done with the map because it takes freakin' forever to bake the lightmaps on a map this big. For some reason some of the visual effects don't look the same in the screenshots as they do in-game. The fog is normally a little more visible in the city area. I know the bloom is a little too intense, gonna dial that back a little and make windows a little bit darker. Daytime version has better water.Yes the clouds do move. M O V V O MDrivable Kolva in the distance. The handling is awful. So far there's also a Bishada, Jericho, Pioneer and a Vegas 4x4. Some handle better than others. None of them have even half decent handling. Bishada is straight up broken, it just bounces all over the road and flips over for no reason. None have decent collision boxes yet. The goal is to eventually add one of every car (except the ones that might as well be considered duplicates as far as visuals go, like the Ravan, Coszena, Cellante) get them as close to APB's handling as possible. The vehicles are just their base models from RTW and don't have any kits and just have a black paint job. All of it was ripped from RTW, so there's certain areas that don't exist, like the bar that Birth hangs out in or that two story interior near Barnham College. Spawn room: The room where Britney Bloodrose used to hang out in the north eastern corner before she moved in with Byron, but it's duplicated and moved far away from the main map. That's a mirror on the left, and there is also a button to locally toggle it on and off for performance reasons. Planning to add Avatar Pedestals to the location where each contact is located. This is going by RTW's map, so Pagan Bloodrose will be in the parking garage near the money laundry instead of Asylum. The numbers on the map are basically a guide on how to put the map together. Each block has a number, and a corresponding folder in APB's package files. Please don't hate me Little Orbit :3

I feel like certain slummy areas should be more torn up but like Zombie said, it's still a functioning city, so I think the areas that tourists would see like main roads and stuff should remain clean. I don't think the game's story has progressed at all over the years, so we're still stuck at the same period in time (despite the growl being a 2014+ Corvette and having a Donald Trump mask). Matt said at one point that he wants to continue the story and kinda bring APB to a "Chapter 2" eventually, which might be a good opportunity to tear up the city a little more. However one of my biggest fears is that that this might turn the game into a generic looking gritty shooter and San Paro won't seem as bright and vibrant anymore, which is one of the things that makes the city interesting in the first place. It's not your typical dull, run down city that was present in SO MANY games from its time like Infamous, Prototype, GTA IV, etc. Despite the insane crime rate they manage to keep it looking beautiful and clean. So sure, destroy the slum areas a little more, but preserve any areas a tourist might see.

New fight club map for holidays?

That snow is really picky with where it lands. Just make sure to make the mannequins in the Joker store indestructible so they don't crash everyone in the district when destroyed, like that one time when people somehow spawned with OSMAWs. -
Kewlin's Big Shotgun Thread
BrandonBranderson replied to Kewlin's topic in General Discussion Archive
The reason I don't like the NFAS is because it sounds like someone dropping the lid of a plastic trash bin. Makes it feel really weak whether it's doing a lot of damage or not. Ogre picks up the slack here with the most terrifying sound in the game though. All in all I really like these ideas. -
Please remove the recoil increase over time on Tommygun
BrandonBranderson replied to Nitronik's topic in Game
5 thumbs up from me. I used to love this gun, then they added this shitty mechanic to it. Its recoil used to be insane, but it was controllable with a little practice. -
*sigh* Yeah because I see so many people running around at light speed firing at the sky and hitting every shot these days... I don't know if you remember what it was like before they took over, but blatant cheaters were an insanely common occurance. Now you just have some people that seem fishy. You've implied before (whether intentional or not, I don't remember the details) that you're at the higher end of the player bases age spectrum. How about acting like it instead of whining about a GM temporarily silencing you for yelling about cheaters in chat?

Improve range of Showstopper
BrandonBranderson replied to Bryan1253's topic in General Discussion Archive
Both the Showstopper and the Ursus are in good spots right now. If anything the Ursus may be a little under powered. -
The Bronze district thing seems like it can be an issue.

i'll turn this god damn car around
