  1. Thanks for such a detailed update! Though I'm primarily a PC player it's good to hear the console versions may be getting the features the PC version already has, as well as some optimizations that'll hopefully boost it over 15 fps. Just out of curiosity, is the console version going to be getting the Day/Night cycle at any point?
  2. It would be nice if the cars had more traction though. TBH I liked the old driving physics better. Sure you would roll over a lot more but it felt more weighty than it does now and you did have more traction back then. Plus the switch to the current driving physics is why some vehicles have pretty much zero suspension like the Vegas, Pioneer, and Kolva. It might just be rose tinted glasses at this point because it's been so long but I prefer vehicles not being actually broken.
  3. I was digging around in the 0.6 beta's files and the car horns were in the instruments folder for whatever reason. Maybe that was originally intended to be an instrument?
  4. Yeah the clientside driving physics are a really bad idea. Have you ever played Need For Speed: World? If you have then you know what I'm talking about. Cars teleporting, flying, teleporting into you causing you to spin out, etc. The driving being serverside is what makes it so consistent in APB.
  5. I don't see how it's becoming a BR, and I haven't tried the event yet, but I will say that the fact you have to log in during a certain hour to even participate in the event is absolutely ridiculous.
  6. Tbh I think the whole tutorial system should be revamped. A really long time ago I posted a suggestion for fresh accounts (the first character of a new account) to spawn into an offline district and have a contact (depending on the faction) walk them through the basics of the game, maybe have them shoot some targets, then drive somewhere to do an objective (with the rest of the city blocked off to avoid exploring and getting lost during the tutorial) all with prompts and images popping up on screen telling you how to do everything.
  7. I agree that it should be in the tutorial window too, but are you implying that people actually read the tutorial more than the loading screens? You have no idea how many newbies I've seen that see the tutorial window, close it then complain about why they can't figure out how the game works.
  8. Lol calm down, it was just a joke. I wasn't really trying to prove a point with that statement. My real point is that fight club is already just an unfair red vs blue game due to how one team usually ends up with twice as many players as the opposition leaving fight club as a one sided mess, and LTL and sirens don't seem like enough to justify a completely one sided match in a mode that is just team deathmatch, sometimes with a keep-away objective if you're in Asylum. An autobalance at the beginning of each round would solve this issue. Going to Social doesn't always work. Some people go there to hang out, some go to customize. Sure you might grab a few sometimes, but usually everyone is kinda doing their own thing, not waiting to be invited to fight club.
  9. Uh, it's fight club dude. Completely separate from the main game. And APB has immersion? Oh yeah I totally forgot about that time when cops dressed up as hookers and clowns and started killing anyone who might be a criminal while taking sidewalk shortcuts in SUVs through crowds of pedestrians with one standing on the roof firing a rainbow colored whistling rocket launcher at a couple of dump trucks full of Joker and Harley Quinn clones. It's hard not to get immersed with that level of realism.
  10. Tbh I didn't even know Isuzu made civilian vehicles until you posted your Rodeo lol. I thought they mostly just dealt with heavy equipment, construction, industrial, and delivery vehicles. But yeah I'll be sure to let you know how the headlight conversion goes, whenever it happens... I got the car back in 2014 and ever since I've been trying to find a replacement for the base car.
  11. 8/10 I like it, sounds like something you would hear at a bar.
  12. @Lixil @MattScott I won't say that G1 was particularly amazing at running events, but I'll say that their way of running them at least made sense. It would be best to dedicate a district to this event, not to run it 3 times a day. For people who have a normal life, this schedule is going to be very difficult to work with. Please reconsider how you're going to run these events in the future. There's obviously a lot of people here who are not satisfied with the time restriction on this. Events should be fun, not frustrating, and the schedule of this event in itself is frustrating. So no more leveling up through dailies or time restricted events please? If you could find a way to implement it like Butcher was back when drug mule was a thing, but only run this event, trading off to the different rule sets instead of Drug Mule and Butcher, but in its own district replacing open conflict, then that would be awesome. I know it's probably a bit too late for that now, but please consider it for the future. Nobody likes being forced to join at a specific time.
  13. I think it's a good idea to keep us busy, It'll keep us from getting bored with the same thing we've had for the past 7 years, and will this event really be a grind? It doesn't seem like it. Seems more like an event that you never have to do again after winning once. I actually kinda wish they would do it more than 3 times per day. Maybe it's a sign of the opposite :3 It's most likely a totally different set of devs that's running these events from the ones that are working on the upgrade.
  14. Good to hear. A few close calls, but never really been in much of a wreck myself. As for my plans for the Nova, I wasn't really planning on doing a full restoration. That would be a lot of time and money that I don't really have. My main concern is making it drivable and able to pass inspection. I've always loved rat rods, so I wouldn't even mind keeping it looking how it is now for the most part. The grill and bumpers are completely destroyed though, so I'm gonna need new ones of those. I was thinking of making my own grill for it that resembled the 71 'Cuda since I don't really think the stock Nova grill looks too great. I haven't decided if I want to make the bumpers or order factory ones yet, but making them will probably be cheaper. Side pipes for the exhaust were also something I'd like to do if it ends up not causing any issues. It's also gonna need a new interior. The current interior has bench seats which I'm not really a fan of for the front, fine for the rear, and the leather is all ripped up, probably from all the sheet metal being piled on top of it, and I don't know if there's anything living in them or not. So I'm probably going to swap the front seats out for some cheap racing seats we have sitting at the shop. It won't be comfortable at all, not that it would have been with the bench anyway. I'd rather sit in a hard plastic bucket than end up in the passenger seat whenever I make a left turn Also planning on converting it to dual headlights, just because I think they look a lot cooler than the singles. TBH I'll take any car that has a similar body style, a Nova would just be the most convenient because of all the spare parts I already have for it.
  15. Glad you're okay after that accident! I have a two in one picture for you since you said project cars. The black 2003 Cadillac Escalade in the background is what I drive everyday, and that rusty shell of a 1972-1974 Chevy Nova (It has a lot of mixed parts, so we don't know what year the car really is) is my project car that unfortunately has a unibody frame that's a little too far gone. So I'm keeping my eye out for another Nova for sale. I got that one for $500 and it came with a ton of replacement parts, body panels, and a dead bird inside. The Escalade was given to me by my grandmother a few years ago when she decided to buy a new car. For some reason one of the previous owners decided it was a good idea to just paint over the chrome emblems instead of removing them first, so I'm gonna have to either make or order new ones. The original color of the car was a weird metallic olive green. The bumpers are also barely held together by anything so I'll also have to make or order new ones. I work in a fab shop so that makes getting parts a lot easier and cheaper. It didn't come with an engine but my brother has a 350 that we were going to put in it. The last registration sticker on it says that it was from Florida, so it somehow found its way up to Ohio where I bought it.
  16. Looks cool. This is gonna sound stupid but I was concerned for the quality of upcoming splash screen art since the one with the Showstopper on it just used a background from the loading screen, but this one actually looks pretty nice and has an original background. Either way I'm just happy I don't have to stare at the freakin Coywolf every time I go to start the game anymore. We had that one for waaaaaay too long.
  17. Permanent, that goes for all clothing on Armas too.
  18. I've never had it happen with APB, but VR software is really annoying. Anytime I launch something that runs on Unreal 4 it tries to run Steam VR. Same goes for most Unity games. The worst part is when I try to close Steam VR, it closes the game with it.
  19. I've tried this myself before and I can say that if you even have half decent timing with the LMB, then using the mouse wheel is more of a hindrance than an advantage. This has been brought up many, many times over the years and usually the end result is that it doesn't need changed because it isn't a real advantage. If your fire rate is twice as fast when scrolling then I don't think you have the timing down properly for those guns when clicking. You can easily get max fire rate with clicking.
  20. Now I'm just imagining a Balkan Kolva with Muffler, Ramming Plate III, Nitro III, and Explosives III.
  21. I've played the Xbox and PS4 versions of APB, and though PS4 is slightly better, the frame rate is poopy doo doo on both versions compared to PC. Averaging 15 fps is not a good thing when I can average 80+ on PC. (About the visuals) The console version looks more appealing. More colorful and defined, more contrast vs the blue and grey we have on PC. But unfortunately the console versions still suffer from the exposure being WAY too high to the point where my yellow car becomes the fucking sun, and on top of that it still uses the ugly vaseline bloom. Ya' know, the bloom that makes it look like you smeared a nice even layer of vaseline on your monitor/tv. But hey, LO is doing what they gotta do in getting them unified first, so that console and PC will be at the same level. I personally can't wait for the PC upgrade.
  22. Frame drops in the inventory have been happening since 2010. The old UI is just really laggy. Sucks to hear that carried over to consoles too. You'd think that G1 would at least try to convert the whole UI to scaleform like they did with the character select window and options menu when they were porting it. Normally on PC you can double click a mod or weapon icon to change it, but because of the frame drops it can sometimes turn into 5-7 clicks to get it to register. Really annoying. Hopefully LO can complete what G1 didn't bother to finish.
  23. The reason the driving inputs are delayed is because vehicles are handled serverside, not clientside, so there's no real way to fix that other than switching it to clientside, which would cause more problems than it would solve. The rest of these suggestions are extremely vague or are being worked on already like the new engine and modes.
