  1. I avoid getting myself into any kind of discussions on the forum or in the game, knowing it's rather futile, but it seems I went too far this time to just let it go. You have quoted the first part of my sentence and completely ignored the relevant, crucial part, the question was would you risk losing even more players by disallowing config files and issuing bans for the same. I am not discussing the weapon balance nor I intend to. I have already stated, the standard configuration files are a matter of convenience, people want to run without using the shift key, they want to be pro teabaggers and teabag rapidly, they do not want to have unnecessary notifications or sounds, want to wait less for a district to load, to have colorful smoke trails, all of those game-breaking *advantages* you are speaking of. Speaking of the graphic changes, following your logic, people who spent $3.000-4.000 on their computers have a significant advantage over players who have some weaker configurations, thus should be disallowed to play on those computers. Advanced Launcher and custom configuration files, how many frames per second someone has, have absolutely nothing to do with the game mechanics, learning curves, or the game knowledge. Eventually, sooner or later every new player asks how to solve their technical issues and improve their gaming experience. We used to have entire guides how to improve the game performance on the old forums. Does that imply people who optimized their computers for a smoother gaming experience are cheating in a way, gaining an unfair advantage? Pretty please... Advance Launcher itself has been around for how long, 7-8 years if I am not wrong, at least I am using it that long, it had zero negative impact, in fact, quite on contrary - the population numbers were increasing allowing more players to play despite their system not reaching the demanding APB's requirements. Still not a single valid argument provided by you or like-minded individuals who are strongly arguing against the use of Advanced Launcher or custom settings. At this point I am fairly certain we won't get one.
  2. I do not see any valid arguments, to be frank with you. It sounds like you are saying something along these lines "The recent changes made to APB weapons had an impact on the playerbase, resulting in declining numbers, hence it doesn't matter if the actions of issuing unjustified bans for using legitimate configs will push those numbers down, even further". If the use of configs does not provide any advantage, why do you think the gameplay is unfair even before a match starts. What do Advanced Launcher and custom configurations have to do with the game learning curve and newbies. I simply cannot make much sense out of your post.
  3. For the most part the use of configs is a matter of convenience, I believe. Not all of those settings directly affect the game graphics and people use them whether they play on Alienware Aurora or on their pocket calculator. The majority of those settings should actually be present within the game options and contrary to popular belief, the standard config pack does not grant an unfair advantage over other players who are not using them. Putting configs which optimize or alter graphics, textual files, key bindings and sounds to allowed extent in the same bracket with aimbots, triggerbots and radars, calling the config cheats makes absolutely no sense.
  4. ...and make the current player base of 300 active players go down to 50 from which 30 are AFK in Social.
  5. It's a lovely event, despite being an old one, but why 10 hours again.
  6. This whole thread, along with the role-play aspect, theme based creations, video montages, car chases and pursuits is absolutely amazing! And it's something this silly game should have more of. Keep up with the great work.
  7. I am not quite sure what kind of advantages those configs give, I play crappy with or without them.
  8. You can secretly report your friend and then you'll both need 10k JT for the car. A good friendship is an equal friendship.
  9. My IT knowledge starts and ends with switching the computer on and off, I have no clue how this works, however I assume this is a misdeed of someone who is actually an active player, most likely frustrated with the fact there's always someone better in the game. Just recently I witnessed a district chat where people were talking about IP addresses when one of them said something in the following manner: "Okay I am taking this district down" and a couple of minutes later everyone got disconnected. I doubt anyone else (like a competitive company) would do something like this.
  10. We all were, at some point, in the same boat at some point. It just takes some time to get familiar with the map and weapons. People say APB has a steep learning curve, but I would disagree. Anyway, it pays off in the end, as APB is a fun game, despite of all its flaws. Make sure you pick a bronze district to play in.
  11. I am actually glad APB has never been, nor ever will be a popular game. Smaller communities are always better.

    Med spray.

    Mad spray, makes people mad.
  13. It certainly might attract some old players to come back, but I wouldn't expect a bigger influx of new players. Once that (in)famous engine upgrade happens, I suppose APB's population could go back to what it was back in 2015 - 2016, but briefly only, before it starts dropping down again.
  14. It has been down since the last patch. Why, I do not know.

  16. I wouldn't ask anyone, I'd rather see it for myself. Whenever I come back to APB, I have fun as ever before.
  17. You started to play 2012, which makes you an 8+ years old vet. So now you just have to learn the names of missions and try harder.
  18. The community was nothing less toxic when the players base had the thriving and constant growth, nor it had less de-threaters, re-rolls (what's wrong with making a new character, anyway?) or cheaters (sincerely, are there any blatant cheaters left?). I do no think the community is the main issue here.
  19. Make the crosshair in the colors of the rainbow!
  20. Yes, I had on my mind the 4-slotted version, I should have said that, but thank you both, anyway!
  21. Is there a way to obtain a slotted Dolton Fresno within the game, using either Jocker Tickets or in-game currency, and why not?
