  1. Funny enough, when I first saw this thread, I thought it was about the event that just happened in open conflict, which approximately 79 people were able to take part in some form this time around too. I spammed "join district" for something like 20 minutes and then got frustrated.
  2. Unless you spend the time and effort to get better, you'll always be stomped by. Ignore the missions you return the favour to even less skilled all you like. It's a circle where no-one gets away feeling good all the time except for those who have sacrificed everything to be the top kek players in a game that doesn't reward being the best in any way or form. Golds complain about getting stomped by better golds. Silvers complain about getting stomped by golds and better silvers. Bronzes complain about getting stomped by everyone and greens are just "wtf mate?" with all this stuff happening around them.
  3. I had no problems. I clicked "password reset" and *poof* the email with link to reset my password arrived. Not sure if LO has changed anything since first week(s) but that's how it worked for me. It didn't require any back-and-forth communique with support to get done.
  4. I'm leaning towards this, damage from guns shouldn't need complicated explanations. But then again, I just rather wish that HVR wouldn't exist at the moment. It's so hard to balance weapons when there's 100m limit to squeeze in shotguns, pistols, revolvers, assault rifles, smgs, designated marksman rifles, light machine guns and sniper/anti-material rifles (+ all the explosive crap on top). It's pretty much "asking for trouble" by design... Trying to fit everything in that 0-100m gap when there is no "loadout weight" feature or some other limitations on what you can equip with what etc... it's just a nightmare unless you get it just right by accident.
  5. Too much math applied. I just buy shit if I feel like it. (I'm starting to lose track on what I already own and what not, this is something that ARMAS isn't very good displaying)
  6. Download advanced launcher and use it to lower your graphics quality to get better FPS
  7. Why not make a bug report about what appears to be a bug? Just wondering... It's almost pointless to even have other sections on these forums, as almost everyone posts pretty much everything in social district anyway.
  8. Not brilliantly. You see many people using DMR apart from a random DMR AV when you least expect it? I didn't think so. So it kinda half-explains why you almost never see anyone use anubis either. It's not a good gun and the silly crosshair didn't really help... The ramp up burst size is sadly a mechanic which took a lot of usability away from the gun and made it very situational at least for me... If you have time to hit with just 2 initial bursts, you'd been better off with Obir. If you have time to fire three and you can land the fourth shot on third burst you've done as well as you would have done with Obir. If you for some reason have already fired it enough to get into 2 bursts to kill scenario, you're either have amazing aim/luck or you were a bit close for comfort for that weapon and propably could have gotten the same end result with ntec anyway. I actually used my bullshark before the change as replacement for obir. Who has time to fire warning shots in APB, unless you're camping a corner or guarding an objective from perfect cover?
  9. It's very mildly annoying. List of things that are more annoying in APB: load times, inability to arrange your weapon locker freely, loading time for login screen, client performance, not being able to spawn 2 cars side by side on some spawn locations, people who spam hackusations or some other autism on /d, missing the critical shot... Things that are more annoying in life: not having that "one more beer" in a fridge, popup windows, windows 10 reminding you about updates in the middle of a gaming session, self-playing advertisements with audio on websites, advertisements that have audio when your mouse hovers over them on websites, analogical spam in my irl physical malibox, spam emails, having to fill up your car's gas tank, the size of average EU parking space which my car fills snugly, people who park their car right next to mine when there's loads of empty spaces on both sides, tools not in their correct place in my toolbox...
  10. I think it's more due to people constantly begging for a sale than them actually needing to rake in some quick cash. If they had wanted to do a quick cash-in, they would have started with massive sale(s) instead of taking their sweet time to acutally start fixing our problems one by one...
  11. All /report has ever done so far is "telling fairfight to hurry up for the next inspection of player in question". Hopefully they'll rework it some day (as they've let us believe they will) so that it could be used for more than just hiding part of pointless hackusations from the /d. Having things like /report chat {playername} or /report exploit {playername} or /report griefing {playername} might help cleaning up the /d from the useless name-and-shame attempts (given that the now-in-training-gamemods can be used to help clean up the toxic waste on /d chat a bit amongst their other duties).
  12. I really don't understand the appeal of Beacon. I can agree that it's fun when you can only access it occasionally during events, but the broken spawn system (you literally can't often spawn anywhere because the spawn system seems to work on a 2D-map basis) and the brokenness of high damage long range weapons fired while camping at the edges of the map make it not enjoyable in the long run. The gungame ruleset however works awesomely there, as it prevents people from sticking to their favourite crutch and choosing the distance they want to engage enemies. It's a great equalizer when you force people to use various weapons that have different effective ranges and becomes more about general skill and awareness than just mastering a single weapon and keeping distance. The Baylan map is however really boring and has become stale, since it's been the same for so long and it's not a perfectly balanced map in the terms of team spawns. The least it would require is rotating enf/crim spawns so that the winning team couldn't just set up to camp and spawnkill the losing team during the early stages of next round several rounds in a row. And it could do with a little touchups here and there, mainly just adding and removing some of the containers every now and then to keep the map "alive".
  13. There is really no way to tell if someone is "cheating cleverly" or just damn good. Not unless you go to sit next to them and see it from their client. No amount of using spectator modes or free cams can confirm anything due to how APB functions. There are "nerds" ( using the term in a loving way ) with way over 10k hours spent in APB, and even if you might think that you know everything after 2,5k or 5k hours, they still have 4:1 to 2:1 advantage to you when it comes to experience and it results in knowing where the missions happen, where the next stage most likely happens, where people will spawn if they are killed at that side of objective, how guns work when pushed at their absolute limit of performance, etc... Isn't weapon max firerate limited by server? I mean that's why lots of people complain about "ghost shots". (If the connection/server is even slightly unstable, you can't do consistently 100% max firerate on semi-auto weapons - the server will at some point freak out due to latency issues and discard a shot even though you clearly see it happen on your game client). And if you're at the receiving end and the shots seem to land on you as a big lump all at once, it's again just lag/server issue which makes it seem like that.
  14. Title. I've got 3 disconnects now within last 25 minutes, preceeded by huge packet loss. Others in the district chat complain about similar issues.
  15. I think console is already using different UI than what PC version currently has. Also the current UIs (Kismet and Scaleform) need to be replaced anyway if they are to continue into UE4 after UE3.5, since neither seem to be no longer really a thing in UE4 which is the long-term goal engine-wise. (I might be talking from my butt, so please feel free to correct me - Kismet/Scaleform/Blueprint discussion is something that flies way above my head)
  16. It achieves nothing. It just makes people to bleed out their hearts and use every insult they can figure out just to try insult someone who's no longer around, at least not under that name anyway. There is also large portion amongst cheaters who specificly go looking for notoriety and FeelsBadMan-posts they get mentioned in - that's their fap material. They shouldn't be given fap material. When someone is banned, he/she is banned. End of story. Any public discussion about it is unnecessary and pointless if the bans are done right and with adequate proof.
  17. Best car is the one you grab from a random citizen to get to the next point before your opposition.
  18. I'm also curious about this, but given what Matt said in the Q&A, they weren't planning any "bash it with hammer" approaches but some sublte surgical changes to few weapons. Time will tell how it turns out.
  19. What is this? 2015? (I'd prefer gangnam style emote if we're talking about stuff from the past)
  20. 1: Observe. See what they are doing. Look at their placement, the weapons they've chosen and how they use elements on the map as cover. 2: Understand. Try to understand the whys. Why you failed? Why they were there? Why you were there? Why they did what they did? Why did it work? 3: Adapt. Adjust your gameplay with what you've seen and learned. See how it affects things. Keep evolving untill you find things that'll work for you. Repeat 1-3 untill you get results. Beyond that, just it's practice practice practice to get the feel how you can push the weapons to their absolute limit.
  21. (Sorry for the double post, I just can't figure out how to properly add a quote on a previous post through edit function since I can't go full BBCode mode and cut and paste whatever I want.)
  22. While some of that drivel is still relevant, I don't see the point of posting it. It's yet another thread about cheating, which is not going to achieve anything positive.
