  1. Racism, biggotry, narrow-mindedness, xenophobia, fear of the unknown, diversity intolerance, whatever you want to call it... It's however not about the term you use, it's about the idea behind it.
  2. I haven't heard of too many pre-FF-era unbans happening without contacting support. I'm guessing they filtered the unbans based on what they were banned for. There's old old bans that haven't been reverted and also some later manual bans that havent been reverted yet from what I've been able to gather. Contacting support and being patient is pretty much all you can do. And if you know you behaved toxicly back then, be apologetic and admit to your mistakes and beg for mercy. It might be one or two N-words in a wrong place that has got you banned, or some other slurs/badly timed negative comments/black humor about any protected class. Tiggs took no bullshoot on that front and may have occasionally overreacted in some cases.
  3. That's good way to get on the good side of the staff... Hacked or cracked non-standard windows os. Repair or re-install.
  4. It's a racistic request to begin with. It's unfortunately going to be something you just need to learn to live with. In the US servers there's not too much non-english discussion anyway, and if is, it's mostly either in spanish/portugese or russian. On EU we got russian, french, german, polish, turkish, spanish, portugese, italian, swedish, norweigan, danish, estonian, lithuanian, finnish, latvian, hungarian... and many other! (It's a really long list. A smörgåsbord of languages.) And while I'm sometimes little bit annoyed that I don't understand what people say in /d, that's how it's really going to be in any game, unless you start requiring language tests before allowing people to join and enforce non-english policy strictly (which would hurt the population quite a lot).
  5. Unless you keep doing things in the game or saying things on the chat that annoy people, you can pretty much dedicate your ignore list to block themes. I mean, you can fit several instances worth of opposition on ignore simultaineously. I just rinse my ignore list after each session, because I can't keep track on why I ignored who anyway and it's really easy to ignore those people again who are making an effort to be a constant bother to you. Actually I think I should ignore people I'm against always, because it's not going to be anything plesant if they whisper something anyway. Ideal solution would be to have more volume sliders for various things... Maybe in the future after engine upgrade...
  6. How long does it take for someone who gets unbanned to get caught? Expect "false ban" topics to begin within 5 minutes from that.
  7. In little under 4,5 hours from this moment. Naturally it is an estimate even from their side, it takes as long as it takes.

    Ram raid audio bug

Summary: Ram raiding shop windows doesn't make sound Description: When you ram raid shop display windows, they used to make sound of breaking glass and alarm going off. This sound can no longer be heard, only the car makes a crashing sound when you drive it into the shop display windows. Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to financial district with criminal faction character 2. Grab a vehicle and drive it into ram raid-able shop window 3. You only hear the sound of car crashing, not the window breaking and alarm going off How many times you have recreated this bug: Several times by 2 different players. Results: Window breaks without sound (you only hear car hitting a wall). Expected results: Window breaks with sound of broken glass and alarm going off.
  9. I saw few people without premium there, so I assume premium isn't required. OTW is kind of an ongoing open beta for the next patch candidate(s) after passing internal testing. At the moment it has battleye patch in pretty much releasable shape. Note that it might not be always online between patches, as it exists for testing purposes only.
  10. Unless those people are being toxic while themselves actively grouping with cheaters, I don't see any reason to start wasting manhours finding evidence of their grouping behaviour. I reserve right to change my opinion if the cheating situation doesn't get noticeably better after battleye.
  11. Taking away some monopoly money shouldn't really be something to start crying over, if you're given a new chance with your account that has potentially hundreds of dollars worth of real money purchases. Yes it may suck for someone who has potentially been banned for no reason, but then again, quite a few bans have happened and I'd like to think that they have mostly been for actual reasons, yet almost nobody has come to forums and say "sorry, I've done bad things"...
  12. Even if someone like me had recorded everything, it wouldn't be much to see... Few glimpses of their characters when our paths met for a second or two in the baylan fight club and some lines of text on district chat... And later when they moved to open conflict it would have been only some lines of text in district chat. For proper recording of any of their actual gameplay, it would have required either some of them to record/stream it or someone with gm account to spectate while recording/streaming.
  13. The way to look at any noticeable changes to APB is like having few guys with some hand tools and a haynes manual doing service on a 747.
  14. I know a really good quote on the already closed discussion, but can't find a good video of it. (And it needs the video to be delivered properly.) Maybe I'll add it here if I ever find it, unless of course this gets locked way before that because after all this is something you could easily interprent as "reposting closed thread". I don't think there is anything more to discuss about the previous thread, it kinda has it all covered...
  15. The marketplace tax is currently the only noticable money sink to most people. I think the whole approach on how to ensure economics don't get mudflated should be re-thinked, the ammo costs for example only hurt those who are just learning the game and don't have a lot of time to play it in the first place - all their mission rewards get sucked in renting guns, buying ammo and respawning cars, while some people sit with hundreds of millions on several of their characters with nothing to blow that on and no danger of ever losing any of it at the moment. I think some form of wealth tax could be a thing to think about. (If we had infinite dev power, I'd turn breakwater gallery into a casino. That would surely suck some of the loose dough from rotation.)
  16. In light of answers I've read so far this brings up the question: how secure are the servers at the moment against someone who knows what he/she's doing with his "input"? Is the next bunch of cheaters going to have access to (some of) GM powers?
  17. Every program people keep askin if it's ok or not is going to need testing to be approved. So the more crap you want to be approved, the more time they'll have to spend with trying out them and possibly tuning things. Also each time something that interferes with the game is whitelisted there is an opportunity for cheat makers to find loopholes in the exceptions made to allow it. Any hole that is punched through the wall is a potential leak source. From developement point of view it would be much easier just to say that "all file edits and 3rd party tools are out of the question" but it would lead to a lot of disappointment and anger from the community because people for whatever reason can't use controls in the way they are designed in the game while they simultaineously want to be able to get 120fps on a potato. They are likely to want to please the majority of reasonable requests even if each one those costs several days in developement time.
  18. In RTW there was too much light everywhere during the night. But the light sources looked nicer because they were more "bright". Now for example windows with light emitting from them just look like someone has painted them yellow. The light sources in general look way too dark. What we currently have improved upon that, is that the darker areas are now better. The dark alleys and shady backstreets are now much more like what they should have always been. Unfortunately this happened with the cost of everything looking so dark and badly lit, even in the middle of the day open areas are like there's serious smog issue in san paro and heavy clouds. It looks almost like it's about to start raining any second... I want bright days, dark back alleys during night and general improvement on how bright/dark the light sources look at any given time.
  19. As far as memes go, you can't out-timetravel Jotunblut
  20. The good ol' dev launcher. I genuinely miss some of the shenanigans devs played on us in the past. The "Elf-inflicted Wounds" xmas event was propably my all-time favorite so far. ( for different kind of experience, play the elf-inflicted wounds video without sond with this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTk1D-BN-WQ as soundtrack, clicking them to play simultaineously )
  21. I wish matchmaking would have thrown me on a mission against you... Would have loved that no matter the end result. You should think about doing something like this more often, maybe even on a regular basis... A couple of hours once or twice a month shouldn't hurt you too much? Right?
  22. Any thread about weapon balance on the forum:
  23. @Aphadon is also one name I remember. I'm guessing there's even more, hiding in the shadows...
  24. Despite multiple attempts to create proper GTA-esque 3rd person shooter with open world elements and some kind of matchmaking, not even AAA companies have gotten it right so far. APB is still something many game developers could use as point of refrence when they are working on such thing. GTA V for example was a massive blunder when it comes to certain things that are critical in PvP scenarios. It's more like just PvE game with PvP based griefing opportunities than proper PvP thingy.
