If I remember correctly they currently are very limited to what they can do with the Inventory in itself. I'm fairly certain they're currently at the absolute limit when it comes to Inventory space and I'd imagine that them being so limited in what they can do is also the reason why a sort functionality has never been implemented. Fingers crossed for 3.5 adding those features down the line.

I've been getting a lot of random disconnects when selecting characters, connecting to the world server or are in the very first district select of the startup.

I think that any ban over config/file edits right now would be nothing but silly. Leave things be and accept that G1 tried to stop this but couldn't do it since people found new ways to achieve the same thing. Encrypt the files in the 3.5 update and be done with it, don't ban a big part of your player base over nothing.

In relation to the event, where are the GMs / tGMs ?
Frosi replied to CookiePuss's topic in General Discussion Archive
They're in Disney Land together with Tiggs, gotta have a vacation every second week after all. -
My idea for something they could do with shotguns is to revert them to their old state before G1 nerfed them all the way back in the day, which means giving them their damage and set pallet pattern back. Now if they mess with the damage values (or just apply the current live ones) and then apply their current system that increases the damage of the earlier pallets but change it in a way that makes the CENTER pallets deal more damage then I think that shotguns could be pushed a little further in terms of consistency. When they first changed shotguns they were too forgiving and had far too much range, to fix that they changed the guns rate of fire and harshly lowered the added damage the early pallets deal which meant that right now shotguns could be considered worse than what they were before LO first messed with them. All in all, I don't think shotguns needed much of a buff/change to begin with but ended up in a very wonky state due to the changes they applied which they then had to balance. Although I would really prefer if they reverted the shotguns to their old state before LO touched them and then maybe tinker with them in a few months from now when they're feeling more confident in changing things regarding gunplay (Hopefully with the help of dedicated community members).

What Kevkof said, you need to progress through both contacts that award the first character modification which is Clotting Agent 1 from Shift on Financial at contact level 3 and Kevlar 1 from Byron Bloodrose on Waterfront at contact level 3.

Massive bug with the new game mode (Hotfix needed)
Frosi replied to Frosi's topic in General Discussion Archive
To be honest I couldn't give two shits whether or not my stream grows, in fact, today was the first time I was streaming APB in the past 30 days. I was simply giving an introduction on how the bug was discovered although I feel like even the twitch clips would've been enough to make you jump to that conclusion. -
Massive bug with the new game mode (Hotfix needed)
Frosi replied to Frosi's topic in General Discussion Archive
While true both of you need to realize that this was done during a live stream that was broadcasting to 100+ viewers. This will become public knowledge just because of that, people see it, look into it, and tell their friends while I'd be sitting here waiting 3 months for a reply from their support just so "people don't know". -
Massive bug with the new game mode (Hotfix needed)
Frosi replied to Frosi's topic in General Discussion Archive
Because it is very unclear whether or not my support ticket will be looked into anytime soon. I'm posting it publically so this can be hotfixed as it is a limited time game mode which will now be unplayable since the bug was broadcasted to 100+ viewers. -
So while I was streaming today I wanted to mess with a friend of mine that was streaming the new event at the time. I had the intention to simply arrest him in the new mode and mess with him that way, however, while doing so we stumbled over this game breaking bug that will ALWAYS crash the district server. This bug is incredibly easy to recreate because all you have to do is arrest a criminal in the new mode, as soon as the arrest is about to go through the district server will crash and boot everyone inside the district to the login screen. Below I will provide video evidence of said bug but I want to note that I did not intend to crash the district on purpose during attempt 1, I didn't know about this issue and was simply messing with a friend of mine. We went onto crashing the district 2 more times, once to confirm that it really was the arrest crashing the server and the other time showing a GM called Motegi how to reproduce it. This isn't an easy bug to squish, you can't simply disable LTL due to other non LTL guns having the ability to stun such as the OCA Nano and DMR AV / SD. I will put the clips in a spoiler to avoid clutter. @MattScott

ARMAS Store refresh and pricing changes
Frosi replied to MattScott's topic in General Discussion Archive
I'm glad to see another reduction in price although I've noticed two quirks with the new layout. First off all I can't seem to see how many days of Premium I have left, all it says is "Active". Allowing Players to see their exact time they have left of their Premium status will likely be a common request. The second quirk would be that the way to view your Loyalty rewards is a little confusing. The yellow arrow underneath the name makes it look like the whole line or the arrow are supposed to work as a drop down menu for you to look at your Loyalty rewards but instead you have to click "View All" which is greyed out, I suggest giving the "View all" button the same yellow color so it's less confusing and can be seen easier. All in all things are looking great tho. -

Can't have nice things or expect common settings in games to be put into APB. -
Is Mission script allowed???????????
Frosi replied to TrashCan's topic in General Discussion Archive
It's fine, one day you'll realize that a bit of text that you can access without editing game files won't make you an amazing player. This whole thread and your responses to people disagreeing with you make you look nothing but delusional. It's like you're getting beaten by better players but then blame it on text edits or them "picking" their mission to have an advantage, completely ignoring that the majority of top players that are also known for being experienced with the game agree on the fact that the majority of end stages are broken and simply do not play out well. Two examples would be any 2 vs 2 VIP (5 lives to 12) or 5 Minute Scavenger missions such as "Pineapple cocktail" which also requires you to move a single heavy item as part of its 5-minute Scavenger stage which basically means that whoever gets it to their point first automatically wins. (The exact thing the "Your drop / Their drop" stage rework tried to fix). -

Frosi replied to TrashCan's topic in General Discussion Archive
I can see where you're coming from but player behavior such as this should probably be looked into by LO at some point. A lot of missions and last stages need to be rebalanced or even revamped. The way I look at it is like not wanting to play a select few maps in CS:GO, you just toggle them off but instead of toggling them off you just abandon them. -

Pretty much what I said, no? -
Is Mission script allowed???????????
Frosi replied to TrashCan's topic in General Discussion Archive
It's something that should be in the game by default and is more or less a bandaid to quickly be able to check and abandon a mission if it's one of the bad end stages such as VIP, Bomb or our all-time favorite the Bank truck hold. In either case, most of the long time players know the end stages to each mission by heart anyway so it's technically just a quick way of learning them, and even without configs people can just use things such as the Steam overlay and sit on apbvault searching for the mission and end-stage while they're respawning. -
Did we trade lazy anti-cheat into lazy anti-cheat ?
Frosi replied to MartisLTU's topic in General Discussion Archive
The current engine due to it being so dated is a reason why BE isn't doing a great job as of right now. Fingers crossed for improvements to BE after 3.5 even if it's just a small jump. I really want them to reintroduce FairFight with its original settings and have it run silently in the background for a while so it can flag players and help them fine tune it. BE can only do so much and I have yet to see a shaw copter since it's implementation, however, the amount of returning closets is scary as BE doesn't seem to be able to detect their cheat or flag them for whatever else it's looking. FF was pretty efficient at detecting closets over time even if they ran on less "aggressive" settings. -
Pretty much this. Reverting the downside but keeping the current upside is a horrible idea and will make the range meta even stronger, I really hope they consider reverting it entire mod so we're back to IR3's usual +7 meters effective range aswell rather than 15% + 3 meters.
-
Funnily enough, I mentioned both the RFP and N-tec before I mentioned the OBIR in my initial post. I only went into detail about the OBIR due to someone quoting me with a seemingly aggressive post. And on top of that, the OBIR would be the easiest of the 3 to fix as all it would need is a system that is already in the game. Also to note is that both the N-tec and OBIR, if they get nerfed, should get nerfed in the same patch, if you nerf the N-tec but the OBIR stays the same it'll shift more into a reverse quick switching CQC meta with the OBIR. In the end, I was mentioning current player habits and noted ways on how to fix those if LO wants to.
-
Fair enough, I've been playing for ages and have never heard about Shotgun quick switching being the "Original" quick switching. I knew that Shotgun to Snub is a thing and it also still works but I never heard that it was the initial quick switching since I've rarely ever seen it being used compared to the HVR's quick switching.
-
How am I it calling original quick switching? I specifically say reverse quick switching whenever I mention the OBIR because in theory that is what you do and that is what players call it. Original Quick switching is secondary to primary, reverse quick switching is primary to secondary. And you've clearly not understood what I was referring to when I said "Perfect". I meant "Perfect" as in LOWEST TTK possible which is what quick switching is all about. And I'm taking the OLD VALUES when damage was not based off accuracy because this was to fix quick switching. Also yes, if you miss a bullet with the OBIR it increases it to 1.05 but you're not applying the same logic to the HVR, if you miss your shot with the HVR it increases the TTK from 0,83 / 1,1 to 2,45 / 2,72. Going back to the point that the OBIR is far more forgiving. All in all, you've either not read my post properly or just don't understand the scenario. Quick switching used to be an issue, now it is fixed for the HVR atleast. I was applying the logic of why the HVR was considered overpowered while quick switching to the OBIR and it comes down to the same thing.
-
If quick switching was considered broken then why shouldn't reverse quick switching considered broken? I did the math and it comes down to very similar values. Here are the standard values for the guns, using CJ3 and 3PS3 for the HVR. The HVR's time to kill is 1.63 seconds and it's equip time is 0,67 seconds. So in a scenario where you shoot once with the FBW, then switch to the HVR and fire right away it will end up being a 0,83 second time to kill. Now let's do the same thing with the OBIR. The OBIR's time to kill is 1,20 seconds at a fire interval of 0.050 seconds and the FBW has a 1 second time to kill with a 0,35 second equip time which means that in a scenario in which you burst someone with the OBIR and switch to your FBW right after the TTK is roughly 0,85 seconds. (The final value may also be 0,95 seconds depending on how the fire interval value actually works) In comparison, the OBIR's TTK doesn't half like the HVR did, however, I'd argue that the OBIR reverse quick switching is far more forgiving overall since it has a solid backup plan in case you miss your initial burst and also allows you to miss a shot here and there with your FBW as you try to finish the other player off. I am not telling them to change the OBIR, I was simply mentioning it as an example and went into why it is considered versatile and how to fix it if they wanted to. The reality is that OBIR reverse quick switching is incredibly common in top play on Citadel and basically serves as a replacement for the HVR in case the arranged rules don't allow the HVR to be used. My values I came up with are perfect scenarios and in the HVR one requires a decent amount of luck aswell as it measures it's TTK if fired AS SOON as it's equipped without waiting for accuracy. In case you waited for accuracy the value may be a little closer to 1,1 seconds give or take a little. Also if you think about it, all the guns that already have the delay all deal a very high amount of damage in one shot so it is kind of weird that the OBIR doesn't already have this.
