  1. I don't think it'd be right to bring back those relics. Aren't missing out on much anyhow. They were a test for the weapon skin system. Some of them look downright ugly as sin as a result. Anywhow. I think a +25% RoF that took most of the mag to fully ramp up would be a better option. So long as it was coupled with something like say 50% recoil ontop of the nasty curve it's already got? Or maybe nasty horizontal recoil + the normal curve? I don't know. Increasing RoF could easily bring it into problematic territory I think. That or they could do something dumber. Maybe give it a regular magazine instead of the drum mag. Then something like -12% RoF, -40% magazine size, +25% damage for it's stats? Effectively very similar, but it'd handle drastically differently. Which may mean it'd need higher recoil per shot to compensate. I don't know. Just spitballing random garbage in hopes of something interesting coming from it. Anyways. Yeah. Gun needs something to set it apart.
  2. The response to this makes me think I should say a bit more. Last time around the SPCT suffered tremendous problems from inviting popular figures into the program. Their opinions carried more weight simply because of who they were. Not because of what they were saying. Meaning less than ideal solutions could be implemented over more rational ones. That to me was a massive issue that helped lead to the old programs downfall. Then again these are my views on it. Most certainly not what all other people from the old program felt. I do not believe a tester program should be a popularity contest. It should be those of whom are willing to put forth the effort without feeling it necessary to try and garner extra attention. Me a whole lot of others worked our butts off under the previous incarnation without any kind of thanks. In-fact we were mostly yelled and screamed at - despite being the reasons why a lot of good even happened with many of the updates. We pushed hard for things the community wanted without ever giving a damn about wanting anything in return. Sometimes there had to be compromise but we did are absolute best to suggest hat middle-ground. All while testing every little thing anytime there was even the slightest of changes. That's what I feel like this new program should aim for, and what I do not believe Matt's intentions have conveyed properly. Now I know what I just said may come across as inflammatory. Not my intentions. I merely chose to use the most extreme possible outcome (odds are not the one that is even happening) I could think of to get my point across. Why? Because I'm afraid of seeing yet another volunteer program go belly up. I don't want that. That just hurts a game I want to see something done with some day. There's an absurd amount of potential from both the community and this game. I want it to get there. Which is why I've chose to express my views here in the manner I have. Apologies if I came across as an a-hole.
  3. Wait times are currently through the roof. Matt Scott himself explains it a bit here: Anyways like Kevkof said, if you think you might know the e-mail you can recover it yourself quite easily. Find your way over to gamersfirst.com/reset-password and toss in whichever e-mail you believe you used. From there simply follow the reset instructions sent to it. If you don't.. I'm sorry to say but you'll likely have to wait a good long while. They've got a mountain of tickets to sift through unfortunately. So it'll probably take them a bit to get around to yours.
  4. Try repairing the game from the APB launcher. Could be an issue with a corrupt or missing file. Past that all I can think of is some type of connection trouble. I'd run through everything and make sure nothing seems out of line. Power cycle your router and what have you. All the usual culprits. Something could be causing an improper connection to their servers possibly. Unless it's some weird crazy issue on their end. Though I doubt that. I've also heard of certain antivirus programs causing supposed trouble in the past. Can't really verify that one myself. So not sure on that one, but might be the case?
  5. Never even occurred to me that an in-game report system would help with tickets. Now that you've said it the whole thing seems painfully obvious. Well then.
  6. Really wondering where those downvotes are coming from. Doesn't really seem like there's been all that much pushback against this from anyone besides that one guy. Wonder what the reasoning behind it is. Huh. Though I don't quite agree with how things are being approached this time around myself (hardly downvote worthy yeesh people). Then again that isn't really my problem or place to say. It what it is. So I'll leave that there and end with something more positive. Having a direct line for feedback should help iron things out for future updates I bet. Plus I'm just plain happy to see more volunteer programs making their way back into APB. I hope it works out! Best of luck and all that!
  7. That was a random concept image done up by someone ages ago. Don't even remember the source of it at this point. It was never like that. I do believe the one we have now was to work within the games memory constraints. Given the old nature of the engine and all that. Which does make me wonder if it'd be feasible for them to expand it once the engine upgrade goes live. That or they still won't want to get too carried away with adding onto memory usage. Not to mention that it would take valuable time away from them working on other potentially more crucial things I'd bet. Eh. That's my opinion at least.
  8. APB community abusing things? No. Never. That said I'm kinda happy about this. Might at least let them investigate problematic players significantly faster with any luck. Have to see how it plays out.
  9. Oh yeah. Definitely a low tier gun to say the least. It's got a nasty TTK(.79s), average acc, etc. Plus those gimmicky mods take up a valuable slot and color.
  10. I might be confusing it with another JMB release. That said it still isn't an "event exclusive" like the other guy was claiming. If a GM or dev gave a few away prior to the official release it was just that. Not that they were intended to be some kind of event thing is what I'm getting at. Edit: it was available from the regular ol' JMB9 initially! Found mention of it on the old forums: https://forums-old.gamersfirst.com/topic/348908-where-do-you-get-3-slot-ffa/?hl=ffa+r%26amp%3Bamp%3Bd#entry3617508 ...why in hell did I just spend a good 10 minutes doing that?
  11. I could've have sworn it was just outright in JMB9 originally. As a special secret limited time only prize. It was later on that it returned through other boxes and eventually those boxes were included in events. At no point was it an event exclusive item. I do know that much.
  12. She also gave it away randomly at various points in the games history. She didn't like the idea of things being rare or super tough to get. So she kinda worked towards tossing that out the window. 'Tis the reason why 3D glasses and the likes made a comeback if I recall right.
  13. Sounds fun. Curious to see how it'll play out! At the very least I'm happy to have Beacon back for a bit. With a fun mode to boot. Plus it shouldn't have the same problems the autumn event did given the map size, woo! Even if I'll probably wind up learning to hate it again over the course of the event. Fun place.. in small doses. Moving on. Edit: not a big fan of the dailies. They feel very forced. Seemingly only there to serve as a mechanic to try and coerce people into playing constantly. Rather than when they choose to. In my case it only makes me not want to bother because of how tedious it feels. Strongly prefer simply having a role and calling it a day.
  14. A skin that shouldn't have been in there isn't valid reason to request it again. They corrected the issue prior to releasing the event. Meaning you never even had a chance of obtaining it. You are hammering this idea home because you seem to want it badly. The entire crux of your argument requires the idea that the butcher skin was going to remain a reward. It was not. There was no error resulting in it being unavailable when it should have been. There was one where they made a mistake in nearly re-releasing it. Which, was as we both know, fixed. Look man.. I really do get it. I do. You want something more from this. You have your reasons for feeling you deserve something more. We've all been there. Hell have I on this game multiple times over. I just don't think this is the right way to be going about it. I've been in a similar spot with APB in the past too. Sometimes you have to just have to pick your battles. Remember the whole SPCT program? Contributed to that borderline non-stop. Spent days testing out builds by myself to make sure there weren't issues. Spent insane amounts of time combing through bug reports. Then even more time making suggestions. A good deal of which were even used ('Below-Zero', 'True Ogre' - which was a joint effort between 2 others, Varzuga Rally XS + associated contest, etc). Know what I got? Nothing people who did a fraction of what I did got. Hell some people probably did a few times over what I did. Guess what they got? Nothing extra. Sometimes things just plain suck. Enjoy the ride for what it is an have fun. This time around you've got a chance to request a rather generous consolation prize. Ontop of the one they already provided in the form of a mountain of joker tickets. Though it is worth noting that nothing extra was expected with SPCT. We were all there to contribute however we could to a game we all deeply enjoyed. Don't think I'd change a damn thing about it even if I could. Even despite the problems it seemed to have from the outside looking in. Just one of those things where I'd have been downright ecstatic to have gotten even the dumbest of extra things for it. So I felt it was relevant enough to be mentioned here. Damn do I miss that sort of thing. Holy hell. Anyways. I hope this makes some sort of sense. I'm going off next to no sleep and felt like I should really try to explain my side of things. Sorta feeling like I did a rather terrible job of it!
  15. I think it's in a pretty good state now. Not the strongest gun ever but it's a neat versatile gimmicky thing. Which is exactly what you want from a JMB gun.
  16. I kinda get why some people feel wronged. Yet you seem to be trying to use this as a chance to get an exclusive skin doesn't really come across in the right way. In addition to the event skin. The butcher skin doesn't belong in the conversation. That's just trying to get something exclusive because you see an opportunity. The new skin may not either, again, I don't feel like I should have any real say on that part. I don't know, but to me that doesn't seem like the right way to be going about it at all. Your intentions might not be bad, but your method doesn't hit it's mark. Wanting bonus rewards ontop of an event where they beefed up the rewards as compensation to begin with is a tad odd.. but I do get it. Things were rough to say the absolute least. I just don't think you are barking up the right tree with what you are asking for them to give everyone for the trouble. Again, I don't know. I just think your suggestion is a bit too extreme.
  17. It effects them more than it effects those of us that didn't win. They are the ones that got lucky and obtained something rare. I fail to see how they are a non-factor. We received joker tickets at a comically fast rate from simply participating. That's our consolation prize if you ask me. Can grab pretty much anything off there now, or lease a gun for a comical amount of time.
  18. Don't have it. Don't think I should be able to say one way or the other. I do believe those that won it should have the most sway here. Not the people clamoring for something rare simply because they don't have it. The players that put the work in should be making the call.
  19. If anything this shows how problematic of a weapon it is, in my opinion. Even things like the STAR 556 are losing when it comes to frequency of use. The gun people literally spawn into the game with, play 5 minutes, and quit. Only serving to skew the results of who uses what. People in games typically do not use something because it looks good. The most common cause for something being popular is because it is the best. Even people like me that have every gun under the sun are running into the curious situation of.. why bother using the other options? There's a clear-cut winner by a good bit. Unless I'm just screwing around there's no purpose*. I believe the aesthetics are unrelated to the root cause of the guns steady popularity. The familiarity however may be indicative of longstanding balance issues. People have become entrenched in the meta for so long that they aren't willing to budge an inch on something so comfortable to them at this point. That said I'm not sure what the best approach is. Weapon balance is in such a peculiar state that I'm not sure I'd advocate for a nerf. Not sure I would recommend trying to get other guns on par with it either. Hell I think I'd prefer they take a chance on throwing it all out the window instead some day. Starting over from a point that's more workable then the mess we have now. * worth noting that I do believe this to be good to an extent. In the past they'd intentionally make ARMAS weapons slightly behind that of standard free unlocks. Effectively ensuring that free players were never left in the dust. Yes that hasn't always worked, but the idea is solid! I'm just worried the margins are all kinds of out of whack.. again.
  20. See that's certainly a fair way of looking at it. However I'd like to counter that with something of my own: would this item or items be obtainable in large enough quantities for it to make sense that anyone working for that contact would have it? Should there be a more restrictive means of providing access to it? Personally I'd like to see something really unique made available every once in a blue moon. Cross-faction items would certainly be an interesting one (where they haven't been made available yet). Thing is my opinion on how differs greatly from what most people would probably say here. I'd kill for absurdly rare mission rewards to provide something like that. Not saying it's the best means, but I like the idea of that kinda thing acting as a rare trophy. Anyway. I'm done with my idiotic rambling for now.
  21. Still a difference between an authorized private military force and gangsters. Though me calling the Praetorians that, let alone the other parts of the Enforcer faction is still a stretch. Point is there could definitely be a very clear visual distinction between the two in the majority of cases. Regardless of how similar they are in some aspects there's still a stark contrast in how they operate. Advocating for them both to look identical simply because in some rare instances equipment could be stolen is a bit silly to me. If anything the game really needs better ways to tell the different sides apart. Not more to make them even similar.
  22. I'm willing to bet there is a far less sinister explanation. I get that you are upset man, everyone's had moments where it feels like someone it just out to ruin your day. Thing is that generally isn't the case. My bet is LO is up to something behind the scenes they don't wish to disclose. Which is a pretty understandable behavior when it comes to cheaters. Showing your hand to those people can be devastating. Another example is your first amendment right doesn't pertain to what you think it does. Private organizations to not have to permit you to act as you please when in their domain. That amendment in it's entirety states the following "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances". I intend absolutely no offense what-so-ever. I just feel this is getting blown out of proportion due to some unfortunate circumstances. Take a step back and look at this again later with a clear head.
  23. Nothing looks out of place there save for maybe the first shot in the second video. First video you were fighting an uphill battle with bloom. Lost as a result of it. Which I do admit is a real pain in the patootie, but yeah. Second video you might've hit an object that hadn't loaded in correctly? Your crosshair not changing color is what leads me to believe that. After that it looks like you may have shot the railing twice.
  24. One part of me likes that there is something to still differentiate the two sides. The other is me considering the fact they've all but thrown faction identity out the window with everything else. So where's the harm in taking that final step at this point?
  25. Hey now. No being reasonable allowed on the APB forums. Really wish they would've listened back when they first introduced consumables. People have been asking ever since to just make them permanent and be done with it. Just too much of a hassle with them being limited. Wholly pointless concept that just doesn't really work out too terribly well. I'd rather they make limited ones for the holidays or something. Then leave the regular ones as permanent. Actually.. hm. Alternative designs to them for holiday themes would be quite interesting. Could provide more incentive to partake in holiday content. Then they could offer a permanent one for X on armas. We'd be getting more in-game content for free and they'd make a bit of extra cash off it all. Win-win, no?
