1. apb only uses one thread and since the main benefit of i7 over i5 is mostly more cores (and used to be hyperthreading) so there shouldn't be a significant issue here. apb can only use a maximum of 3gb of ram (since it is a 32bit application) and a 1050ti should be fine - even the 3gb version has enough memory (cmon, apb couldn't need much either way) and the game was made for systems from 6 years ago - it ran perfectly fine on my gtx 660 (2gb) (60fps min on max, more on lower) and runs perfectly fine on my 1080ti. honestly, your rig is fine and should run apb perfectly fine - well - as perfectly fine as apb gets. there are/have always been stutters caused by garbage collection, some issues because of memory leaks... and then there are issues because of particles. you can tune these in the advanced launcher too.
2. imagine silvers being a huge part of the game (they should even be the bigger one) i come from dota and balancing everything around tournament mechanics etc. seems quite bad and creates "crutches" at lower levels. while it forces players to get better, it still kills possible fun. ideally things should be balanced for all skilllevels - but you should see where they are coming from. and even then, it's never as easy as people say. just blow the car up? yeah, spam two concs at a pioneer remote det that blocks the objective or equip satchel charges (that are limited supply) - while being wide open - "just kill em first lol" i'm not having a problem with remote det, rarely use it myself, it's just your attitude that upset me. (although i wasnt only addressing you + your point)
3. i think the old rule against overformatting was quite good shotguns were really inconsistent - otherwise fine - before LO, very OP (way too forgiving, way to viable in longer than intended ranges) after the first change... aaand I haven't played anymore after that. the change w/ the pellets to make shotguns more consistent was a quite good idea imo though and should not be reverted. shotguns should not be too "high" range to not make smgs etc obsolete. i guess it just needs tweaking - not reverting.
4. oh, the one that was developed like 5-6 years ago and probably uses outdated, non-functional code? (assumption) that has exactly the same flaws but uses different symbols? that only has the advantage of being able to show off once you enter the district? the one that was exploited by going into an empty district with your friends? the issue is the matchmaking, not the symbols. and they are working on that. and either way, you probably couldn't just add it back without putting in extra work - and even then, it really can't change much. why would a sane company waste time on that... do you know how many left just cause they didm't like the new symbols? i certainly don't but i'd assume it's not enough to think that it'd save the game. what kind of advertisement would they make? "hey, we added 6 year old stuff back to our game" still completely offtopic. sorry for joining in on the derailing.
5. ye why didn't they? how couldn't they just push out the engine upgrade that g1 took 4 years of developing already gee i wonder
6. yeah, just release it. press the button to compile and voila, it's there. the old threat system will solve all issues - everyone wants it back. there is noone who thinks it was antiquated garbage that is actually the same as the current one apart from putting the threats into groups and hiding the sublevels. getting 4000 players (a number that just came to my head) now - that won't stay because they realize "same old stuff, only some new flaws(that are bound to be there if you release halfdeveloped stuff) and no new content" and can't be retained - over people that stay and actively play - for a longer time - after developing the game and reiterating and adding features... that's a very good deal. who could say no. of course i am a marketing genius and have developed and promoted couple of games before. sorry for being so cynical - but cmon, do you really believe they don't put any thoughts into this? also, total offtopic. just because matt posted here, you don't need to hijack this thread. (sorry, i contribute to that though)
7. okay, i just logged into apb (should've done that earlier) - and yeah, you do immediately get them if you own the kttc pack (i suppose - since i got them) tbf, even "event exclusive" would (technically) be included in "all" and you can get them from armas too... oh well.
8. there are already (hidden) stages to all of the ranks, this is why you don't downrank immediately after losing a couple missions however, the whole system is very flawed along - because matchmaking is also nearly impossible with only 100 players available in one district. elo systems also dont always work. e.g. in japan riot/lol is facing the same issue, there are lots of challenger and diamond players etc because the server is basically empty. and even then, matchmaking doesn't even work as expected in big games with good servers like overwatch.
9. be nice to them xd a similar issue since the latest update(s) has been reported already so might get fixed along? who knows
10. i'd think newly added content is a bit of a "gray area" - although the description stating "all" does techincally include "future" and "current". but i guess that's arguable. i for one wouldn't/didn't expect to get new things from this - but i've also never expected new things to be ever added. but i guess it's either just a change of the description to e.g. "all current" or "all original" (+ maybe a list what those are somewhere) - and possibly room to find a solution with support if you feel "cheated" since you bought it assuming you'd get all future ones too or well... getting the new ones sent out whenever there are some. or... just getting blanked by LO xd
11. did you run cmd as admin? xd or did you... well... try a clean apb/windows installation... if that's worth the hassle for you. it might also be on their end though. @killerskull is still active on the forums and had this issue b4, maybe he can help?
12. just a quick question - will the owners of the key to the city pack https://www.gamersfirst.com/marketplace/ingame/product_details.php?storetype=g1c&gameID=20&catID=65&subcatID=204&productId=3090 receive those new decals and primitives too? the description states "DESIGNS. All fonts, symbols, and decals unlocked" so... does it include the new ones and is this also retroactive? (as in owners will also get the new ones)
13. no problem xd nah, i caused it to begin with. for the record/to explain it completely: apb/g1 were bought a few months ago by Little Orbit - after the former company had no visible development for 2 years and practically only shelled out sales and once in a while some fairly recycled events. the price were only cut by 50% in the biggest sales. LO reduced the G1 prices for g1c shortly after taking over, making it a bit more clear (atleast for americans) (although just showing the actual prices and cutting out the currency bit in the middle may be even more clear - although that would probably be bad from a sales perspective, since it'd probably lower the willingness to pay that money) now LO additionally reduced the baseprices - it still is not >cheap< but way much more fair than before - and they are actually - and visibly working on the game - and communicating about it. thus - to me, some of the critics seem rather unfair. don't get me wrong: criticism helps - if it is constructive - but misinformation and just blindly saying "uhh disappointing" does not. this is why i also reacted so "passionately" about it. xd and hey, (especially) if you are a new player - and need some help etc, hit me up if you wanna. i might not be the best player and have the most time but yeah. xd
14. yeah, that happened a few months ago (but Iess than 4-5 months - this is when LO took over) sorry for the confusion.
15. the armas link has been missing since the new forums have been introduced. that's good - why would they try to push you towards sales if you just wanna discuss - although it also annoyed me, as i was used to it. they are down from 3999 g1c to 2999 g1c at max from what i've seen. along with 20% cheaper g1c, it is quite a significant decrease. 0.8*0.75=0.6 thus - every weapons price has been lowered by 40% as minimum from what i've seen. they said the price was actually reduced by 20-50% in this patch so the effective decrease over original gamersfirst is between 36% and 60% to top it off, these prices are also getting decreased by premium, so it'd be between 51,2% and 68% with premium. (sorry for math errors, only did those numbers in my head) the prices are lower than they have ever been on any sale. (50% with premium was the max) (atleast for weapons - packs are more expensive - they said they are working on it) so - you are also plainly wrong at the last point. 2639 was definitely during a sale or while premium was active. i don't have any screenshot of the old prices - but i am very certain. don't you think 2639 is an odd price? yes, it is actually 80% of 3299. which sounds far more reasonable. and that's the very 20% discount premium would give you. and - the current price with premium is 2399 (which is lower). don't spread misinformation.
16. ye the price increased. matt has said that the pack-prices currently are wonky though. my purchase history says Valhalla's Chosen (Account Lifetime) 3,839 G1C 2015-11-27 16:02 G1 Credits
17. to me it should be exactly the other way around - armas exclusives shouldnt be more expensive, since they should be equal choices and not better/more premium/whatever. reskins - that are purely cosmetic and come down to a player just wanting to look different - could cost (a bit) more in the end, having same prices for everything would also be reasonable. but - it is obvious that some weapons are way more niche and less versatile than others - so they should be cheaper because they are less desireable because of that. all of the guns should have their rightful place and have the same tier gameplay-wise, but an smg that is as versatile as an ar would probably also not make sense. since they are supposed to be not worse overall though... hm. makes it seem... off.
18. probably that was cleaned up by now either way, was just saying... ye, i do agree there.
19. as far as i remember these are/were also an entirely different weapon, neiter ntec nor scoped (the prices are still off) sorry, can you link them? just genuinely curious which they are.
20. i did argue the same as you before. but yeah - that's f2p for you. they gotta make money somehow and - guess what, many people just stick to the free options, so others that are willing to gotta pay. the prices are much more reasonable than ever though. you also don't gotta go for the most premium option - as in 3slot acc bound perm. there are alternatives, like 0 slot acc bound perm (25$ for 5 weapons) or 3 slot char bound perm...
21. ye same, unless it is for armas exclusive reskins... i mean it is a fact though that some weapons are way much more versatile...
22. that is the top of the line though. it's not 24 euros either, it's 24 dollars
23. there is an option for non-acc bound/perm then xd nah, i get you. but - the prices are way much more fair in comparison though. it used to be 50$ per gun as maximum, now it's 24 at max. there are also guns a fair bit cheaper. i think the best thing is the bundle of 5 zero-slot weapons for a bit of under 25$ https://www.gamersfirst.com/marketplace/ingame/product_details.php?storetype=g1c&gameID=20&catID=63&subcatID=204&productId=3812 includes basically one weapon accbound perm for most possible situations minus antivehicular... 0 slot tho.
