Well, you're right, and I think you should have written on one of the other posts already active on this subject as several posts like these have been created last week.

I know the frustration. You tell people what's going on and you always get things along the lines of: - "You're just frustrated..." - "Hackusating as a form of harassment" - "You're being toxic" - "Just report and be silent!" - "Send in a video then..." (almost pointless) - "Don't post their names on the forums!" - "You think everyone is cheating!" - "You're not even a good player!" etc etc Meanwhile we watch the cheaters playing 99% of the time, taking 1% of their time to make new accounts after they get banned, having the time of their lives, while the frustrated legit player only gets to suffer, plus have the community turn against him/her for deciding they've had enough and want to desperately say something. That's not so hard to understand! Of course some people will feel like the cheaters are being "protected" then.

It's a really nice idea! Perhaps you'd receive more feedback in the end if it was open for feedback on for example one weapon category at a time instead of all weapons at once because many who don't spend as much time and energy on APB as the die hard APB'ers who hang around the game all the time, may pass on this I think.

Well... about the configs. After they fix color blind mode, custom configs must be locked and I'll tell you why. Some of the current cheats most don't seem aware about historically and which are very hard to detect are external object detection aimbots which rely on some of the current popular configs to keep the "objects" (a.k.a player models, detected by AI) clear/uncovered by the exact things which some configs remove, namely: grenade and vehicle explosions, vehicle fire and smoke, muzzle flash, blood etc. Also some shader edits help out with that through removing details, fog, changing light etc to the point where player models become even easier to detect by AI. There are groups of people using these exact cheats, very happily. Removal of rag dolls stops those bots from targeting dead players. All of those changes are being done in APB right now. Now, I did not mention anything about how to go about any of the edits, configs, cheats, or how to find anything about this, so I believe this is not breaking any forum rules. Feel free to report my post if you disagree.

For a whole year roadmap, that may be doable, but it would be tough on the staff to pull off. I realize an engine upgrade would require almost as much, but maybe they could set aside someone in staff to fix that.

But it's not just "a DDOS". They are many big DDoS attacks. Big difference. If a game that got attacked was small or not doesn't change how big the attack itself was, its scale and complexity. As OP showed, these are big attacks with some complexity to them. Big attacks like these are not easy or cheap and can in no way be said to not require very much.

One guy doing this all alone and you "easily" figuring out who it was. That's how it works in movies from the mid 90's. Not in real life.

I don't think some people understand. It's not just some dude who "hates APB". The economy and resources required behind something like this indicates that it is something entirely different and for entirely different purposes.

It's pretty obvious that it would bring back players who stopped playing, but that's not the important part. The marketing will decide how many new players APB gets. That's the second most important part. The most important part after the upgrade has to do with APB's historical problem with keeping those new players. If that "new player experience" isn't fixed, marketing will be a loss and it's hard to imagine they could afford that, but APB devs have seemed to be able to make money appear out of thin air for years now considering the low population shouldn't be able to carry a game like that for so long.

I don't understand people who are always telling others that the game is dead, that nobody should download it, that you should uninstall etc, yet they hang around it on forums, in discord etc 24/7 and even log in to the game to say the same things there. There is probably medication for what they have. It's F2P. Download it and try it. Some interesting and great weapon balance changes has been and are being made. Check it out!

It's not bad. A 50% conversion of a non-required action with no offered reward is a really high conversion!

Speaking from professional experience, there are some very easy things LO could do to increase conversions and sales in the shop a lot. There are other easy (and fun) things they could do too. Minimum effort, maximum results. But that's not my job.

The old "people are stupid" approach. Solves nothing. You can never blame these things on "the community". It's such an indecisive broad statement which you can't change anyway. You can't change "the community". Imagine the dev going "we've concluded that you guys, the community is the problem, so you're just gonna have to behave now mkay?". It's like saying the problem with the world is the people. What else would it be? People are behind everything. You have to always use systems to manage what the game community can do in the game. So in that regard the problem is always those systems, procedures etc in which "the community" are acting. Like anti-cheat, mission balance, weapon balance, matchmaking system, re-rolling ability, de-threat ability (matchmaking-related) etc. Those are problems the dev can actually solve. Most/many game communities are pretty toxic. The APB community is nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary.

I can tell there's some new people involved in the weapon balancing, or something else about it has changed, because finally and suddenly the right sort of changes started happening a while ago, and they're changes that actually makes a difference. Not saying I agree with 100% of everything (who does?) but it's really great what is happening now
