You have some very good points. Let me ask you this: Is there anything you will not do in a mission for the reason of it being lame or unsportsmanlike?

What legendaries should i rent to try and unlock?
Cr0 replied to Turnt420's topic in General Discussion Archive
Primary legendary: The only legendary weapons really worth it is 'Ursus' and 'Sitting duck'. Secondary legendary: None. Go with FBW as secondary when primary covers mid/long range well. The number of times you win a 1v1 cqc vs a .45 AP user due to them having to reload is ridiculous. -

To me, "tryhards" are those who will do anything to not get beaten, no matter how much it ruins the fun for everyone including themselves.

Merged thread - Removal of several reactions
Cr0 replied to SmilyFace's topic in General Discussion Archive
True. I wouldn't say the main issue about RIOT was if it was "broken" or not. I think that the idea of having a BR mode isn't bad at all, but that the way it was executed was overly elaborate, like too many ideas was pushed into it, most of which are cool ideas on paper but doesn't translate well into the final product which didn't bring the results they were probably after. -
It's a modification mostly used by low threat players struggling to survive. If that's all it's meant to be (I don't know the answer to that question) then it's balanced, otherwise it isn't.

The "death" of the game is not because of some toxic individuals etc. It's because of advice and ideas that are not good enough because they don't see it from a wide enough point of view and are not able to get deep enough into the mindset of the wider audience experiencing the game, to estimate close enough what the decisions and actions will lead to. That is the core problem. This in itself is almost impossible to explain well enough. -
Why was the Scoped N-Tec silently nerfed?

No problem. What do you mean by "marksman dampening"? -

No, the scoped N-Tec has always had noticeably less recoil than the normal N-Tec. -

Exactly. I acknowledged this problem and how to solve it in my post. I wonder if people actually read what I write or if I should just stop posting. -

Then I assume you're unaware of the problem with getting new players to stay. -

It takes care of making the forums much nicer and partly neutralizes the negative influence it has had generally speaking. Now... to have a similar effect on the game itself... hide threat (not rank) (gets rid of threat based districts) which gives matchmaking an easier time (utilizing the actual threat levels not visible to players) and makes dethreating sort of pointless. Make all the things you get from doing the tutorial a part of the starter inventory and implement a new tutorial only (T) district (which you can skip at any time) with a new tutorial contact who verbally tells the new player step by step exactly what to do (go here, do this, do that, press this and that button etc) while doing new tutorial specific missions, instead of the spider web of text based tasks/info to jump between to unlock various things that the tutorial has today. Kick player out of T district based on completion. Move the current useful info from the current tutorial window to a help section in the menu which the player can go to if needed at any time. So then we will get new players who are not thrown in dazed and confused against super superior opponents in the same way. They will understand how things work much better, which reduces frustration and confusion so maybe they'll stick around. They will also not get kicked around by dethreaters in bronze districts or the other superior players like they are today when/if they decide to join higher threat districts to play with their friends etc. Just makes a much nicer experience for new players, gives better new player retention (better income), better matchmaking quality, larger player pool per district etc etc. Players should not have control of what threat group they will be up against like they have today. Arranged missions etc could be handled by letting pre-formed groups move to a district where that is a requirement, but still with hidden threat of course. -
It's almost like you didn't read my post.

I mentioned this to a few people before... but the patch notes stating "Nerf" after entries describing a reduction of a weapon stat isn't good because the word nerf isn't the opposite of buff and means "cause to be weak or ineffective" which brings some people to usually incorrectly conclude that the weapon itself has been actually nerfed when all it is is usually a slight decrease in one or more weapon stats which isn't particularly noticeable and which does not cause a weapon nerf at all, while the word "buff" is accurate when describing increases in weapon stats, as it means roughly "to improve" or "to make more powerful". It some times causes misenterpretation which leads to premature complaints (I'm not saying this is the case for the original post in this thread). Since we want people to try the changes before making too much judgement, this should be looked at, also because it's such a small thing to change in the future. It could say for instance: Increase / Decrease instead.

DMR: Shoot from vehicle window: False -> True Hard Damage: 108 -> 65 Sprint Speed: 475 cm/s -> 600 cm/s Run Speed: 350 cm/s -> 413 cm/s Marksman Speed: 90 cm/s -> 139 cm/s Walk speed 90cm/s -> 139 cm/s Reason: Has always been too slow. This way it's faster and more versatile in a way you can actually feel. Hard damage reduces due to the obvious problem which would result from shooting it from car windows with normal hard damage (especially with the ramp-up). Weapon will be much more fun to use and will also be much more usable as the player can easier get into position to take advantage of the damage ramp-up, as well as maintain some usability outside (closer to target) of that range. DMR AV: Equip time: 1.20 sec -> 0.8 sec Sprint Speed: 475 cm/s -> 550 cm/s Run Speed: 350 cm/s -> 413 cm/s Marksman Speed: 90 cm/s -> 139 cm/s Walk speed 90cm/s -> 139 cm/s Reason: No window lean shooting of course. Otherwise same as with normal DMR, except lower sprint speed, as it should be slower than normal DMR. Since the window of opportunity to benefit from the AV capability is fairly often short, the Equip time has been decreased to quicker be able to engage the target, which has always been a downside for this weapon which needed to improve.

So do I (since beta times though). So do I. I'm not proud of it and I'm certainly not boasting now, but I think I should explain: I also used many cheats years ago (and got correctly banned for those eventually). I made some of my own cheats and tools back then (not nowadays). I know what it's like on both sides, which gave me some insight what is being done legitimately as well as illegitimately as well as "grey area" stuff, and what it looks like from the inside and outside. LO asked me if they could use a video I recorded where I describe and showcase how some external cheats are made (which I made) and what it looks like, as a small part of training some of their employees. In private, people some times like to ask for my opinion, advice etc for some of these things, but openly.... it's a different story.

They DO?... wooow. I didn't understand that! Thanks for educating me. Did you know that when people have different views of things, they can discuss their difference of experience to learn stuff? how wild is that???????
-
Why do so many of you SPCT people keep implying that there seems to be hardly any cheaters? Almost every time I play a couple of hours, I report someone. Most of them disappear fairly soon(tm) thereafter and are never seen again (on that character).
-
Looks good! Let's see how it feels to play with. After the hard damage ISSR-B nerf I tried explaining why it was over nerfed slightly and that it should still do some damage against vehicles, just not as much as before. Those who replied from SPCT said Nope... you're wrong, patch is fine. The very next weapon patch buffs hard damage slightly, stating: "the ISSR-B should still be able to pose some threat to vehicles". That sounds familiar.

When G1 manually banned/unbanned people and labeled it as a fairfight decision/error, when it wasn't. -
I don't understand why this was never implemented in the game settings.

Do you mean so that is only has territory control?, because it does have that as one of the modes is cycles through.
