Unbanning all those cheaters surely was not cleaning up the mess. And I don't think it is caring as well. literally giving thousends of cheating accounts free again is far from caring.

For exactly those blatant beyond human action spinners FF would be needed. Once you bypass BE it is virtually giving you free "Do whatever retarted stuff you want" powers. A proper configured FF would never ban innocents but surely get triggered by this blatant behavior. And thus, while not erasing cheating at all, force them to tone down their settings. But people going above rank 100 blatantly cheating is absolutely horrible and destructive for the game. And getting beyond 200 is just beyond. LO's cheater policy is way too soft, and will just hurt the game over a long time. That sadly is exactly what the majority of people I played APB with is doing.

This topic is clearly about players who constantly have a buddy cheating, which constantly is using an alt account which also constantly gets banned because he is pretty blatantly cheating. There are indeed quite a few player who play "legit" but always have another low rank carry character amongst them who ensures that they win. On most servers these people and clans are petty well known. The issue is those guys can always claim "we are not cheating" because their accounts are actually not cheating and just getting carried by their cheater buddy. And this behavior doesn't gets punished.

The problem in APB is the non static situations. Yes there are ranges where some guns outclass the n-tec but for most of these guns the range outperforming the N-tec is pretty small. But even during a mission crossing a bigger street already shifts some weapons out of those "advantage zones". The n-tec is pretty much the only weapon that can keep an extremely high level of efficiency in nearly any situation. So with an N-Tec in your hands you can, by the various approaches APB offers, nearly always shift the situation to your advantage. This is something a pretty tight niche Weapon cannot do. As the weapon now dictates your tactic in many of the existing spots. And then these weapons quickly get outperformed by just altering your tactics during the mission. Sure there are some spots in San Paro where specific niche weapons are king because attackers cannot alter the situation. And then often the only possibility is to switch to the same weapon. But honestly, those situations are pretty rare and in long range scenarios are usually making Snipers the choice over the Obeya (if we stick with the Obeya as an example). And that's the reason N-tec is so meta, since changing weapons on the fly is way too unreliable by the natural variance most objectives have. I wonder if it would hurt balance that much if the Obeya gets the N-tec debloom. Since it is naturally slower than the N-tec with it's ttk will not outclass the N-tec at closer ranges. Yet the damage dropoff and necessarity to hit multiple shots in a row would also not outclass the N-HVR on extreme ranges. it would also help the Obeya with mobility. Sprinting to a location return firing is pretty much "hard" because the debloom from sprint to proper aim accuracy is rather "slow". At least, that's hard and slow compared to other guns you have which is why the N-tec can outperform the Obeya often because you can quickly return accurate fire, while the Obeya cannot do this after movement. And this makes the Obeya sometimes feel more like a defensive weapon instead of an offensive where you have to close into objectives or opponents. I remember when I started APB, the OBIR and Obeya were used a lot more, but back then they had much lower ttk's as well so they were closer to the n-tec and closer to the N-HVR in competition. And After all those changes it received it's niche was getting too tight to be a solid choice for mid-long range encounters and the variety of ranges during the battle for the same spot.

I honestly find that a bit odd. Because there is only a pretty elitistic circle that actually knows those themes have value and even how they sound like. Most people wouldn't even recognize them at all. So people pay a laod of money for a rather elitistic exclusive thing. Symbols work different, they are visually what they are and so everyone understands them, unless some very specific symbols and their not so obvious context. But then, its a kinda free market, should people do with their APB$ whatever they want. I just find it odd.

this makes me wonder, how can themes be stolen that easily, and symbols not? Does the stealer analyze the data or capture the sounds and kinda recreates them?

Oh pretty sad. Would have tried to activate some people, but with APB's current state I can not motivate any of my friends playing it again

Oh, very interesting, so we are (partially) back at own hardware now. That has it's ups and downs, and let's see how Lo handles that. But I still do not know why they make a hardware change without rollback possibilities.

Not yet. with the current situation of APB, the bad reputation will just immediately set up again. So they need to fix major problems APB has first before they can bury the old companies name with the old bad reputation. funnily, if they CAN fix it, the brand would be saved because the reputation would be restored , which then doesn't needs to bury G1 as a brand. but currently, speaking with others, LO as a brand is now already marked badly with "The guys who unbanned all cheaters" Which seems to weight much heavier for a bad reputation than the bad treatment G1 gave the game.

Dunno, But I think FE is quite a good cash cow. It's pop is pretty low, yet the game keeps existing, which makes me think the gap between money income and money spent for maintaining it and it's servers is pretty big and in favor of keeping it.

broken hardware? Aren't hey on cloud servers? AFAIK, softlayer is just a service you buy, or did G1 really buy, well, own hardware again?

mgiht be unspecific, but sounds not like some rollbakc shouldn't be possible. But Guess the gamign industry can't afford such stuff.

in which way? do we have own servers again? If APB is on softlayer they should have concept to revert this if it fails like this. It's just a cloud "server".
