fix the matchmaking or bring back the threat districts
Sniperturtle replied to Arianna's topic in General Discussion Archive
By chasing the remaining people away and making sure nobody else wants to play your game. -
Then base threat on kills and not mission score. Literally it's in the word: "Threat". Threat doesn't mean i can open doors and windows, or i can steal cars, "threat" means i can give you a shit time. Also: The problem with dethreating is not that it happens, but that it leads to bronze players being forced to play against high(er) threat golds in bronze/silver costumes. Your solution: Just let them play against them regularily so nobody can complain any more.

Honest opinions - When the engine update dropping?
Sniperturtle replied to karmafull's topic in General Discussion Archive
New engine will come around the same time when Musk Industries opens a new colony on Proxima Centauri. -
the pop is going low because ..
Sniperturtle replied to Arianna's topic in General Discussion Archive
They had 10 years to fix this problem TEN YEARS! How many JMBs and "weapon/equipment rebalances" have occured over that time BUT LITERALLY NOBODY HAS THOUGHT ABOUT FIXING THREAT? To be honest i am not even suprised with this gutter-community advising them. Of course it's not something that's suitable to keep new players but satisfy the requests of the paying dipshits in their deep gold. -
At this very moment Steam lists 7136 active players, not sure APB ever had so many people online at once, maybe back in 2013-ish. I do agree they are not all piled up on 10 servers or such so the likelyhood of coming across a cheater (also due to the less competitive nature) is a lot smaller. Additionally ArmA cheats are based on internal scripts and are not primarily concerned with aim (which would be very hard to code anyhow since it would have to calculate distances and bullet dropoff) there is a good chance you will not even notice that there even IS a cheater. That said i know enough people who got themselves banned from ArmA permanently for using fishy exe files - of course they claim they are legit, but with 3 VAC bans on record they could just as good claim they are they emperor of China. So you can cheat on ArmA, but you are running on borrowed time because as soon as that cheat gets figured out you are done for. BattlEye is nowhere near as aggressive and strict as it could be in APB, and i am not sure why they set it like that.

They DO publish information if you care to learn and understand it, and what you will learn from there will probably tell you that BattlEye is running on the lowest possible setting in APB. If you look on the starting page ironically they open up with PUBG which is one of the most cheated games in recent history followed by Rainbow Six Siege and ARK which are also in the list. But then there's also ArmA which has probably the lowest cheater population because it's just on a much sharper setting with BattlEye than the previous games (it's also less competitive and therefore not as tempting presumably). Either way BattlEye CAN do a whole lot more and be a lot more efficient than it currently is in APB.

I swear Derek Smart had 500 kids and they are all in this forum 24/7. -
is there a way to see LO's financial status
Sniperturtle replied to failsure's topic in General Discussion Archive
The information you were actually looking for: No, LO won't be publishing the Engine Upgrade. And without the EU APB is dead. APB is dead. Playing with corpses is called necrophilia. You are a necrophile. Happy? Just play the game. Or do something better. Bruh, for sure you also believe that McDonald's is healthy because they said so in their commercials. -
That would be the most inappropriate use for BattlEye ever. It is supposed to monitor and compare even heuristically running processes on your machine for possible cheats.
-
Yes, of course. No need to worry. Grab a bag of popcorn and enjoy this: Oh, and while you're at it, contemplate the meaning of why those districts were so empty to begin with...
-
I wonder then, what would an AI want to achieve by creating a thread like this?
-
So what will happen when the game's overall population hits 20 somewhere within the next 3 months? Because that's all that's left now without threat seggragation.

Experienced problems with clicks
Sniperturtle replied to nndrei's topic in General Discussion Archive
The idea that in a shooting game movement controls should be prioritized higher than firing controls is just stupid and out of touch. So, call it intentional, but it's still dumb and therefore should be fixed. -
The problem here is not really the matchmaking, even though it should serve those yellows hell, but the fact that it's pre-made groups. Why they can't play on silver district with a group like this i will never understand, but that's APB for ya. Oh, and the other problem is that there are so many bronzes in bronze district... yeah sounds weird, but it's true.

Never underestimate the ingenuity of modders. They fix broken games, develop workarounds for hardcoded bugs, no telling what they can do with source code. That said, it would take so much work in rewriting the code for address information, retrieval of data, protection of back-ends, etc. etc. etc. that it seems like an impossible job. But then again, never underestimate the ingenuity of modders.

Realtime Worlds: an inside story
Sniperturtle replied to PLAYLUXE's topic in General Discussion Archive
Yeah, but it's mostly deathmatching. GTA:O is one of the biggest missfires ever released by a game dev. Basically nobody plays this game the way its intended on public lobbies, and those that do ( like myself ) find sneaky tricks to keep the unpleasants out. -
The closer one gets to their grave the less they tend to care for their birthdays.
-
"Man they already changed the weapons and did...stuff and ... I mean... c'mon man..." -Uncle Joe Merged. PROTECT THE BLOODY BRONZES BECAUSE THEY ARE THE FUTURE IF THIS GAME IS TO HAVE A FUTURE. Which it probably wont because they neglected this problem dutyfully since 2012.
-
If it's only "as optimized as the live version" then... oh my god.

If playing Stabba was easy it would ruin the game. Now already there salty tears about how quickly you can get stunned and how slowly stamina regenerates (and i can fully understand them but that doesn't mean i think it should be weaker either). Stabba is pretty much in the right place as it is now, consider making arrests a challenge - because that's the whole idea.

Can Jericho Merge with Citadel already?
Sniperturtle replied to Shimmer's topic in General Discussion Archive
I have copies of my Citadel characters on Jericho. In general i consider Jericho to be less toxic and more fun to play on by the player base resident there. Yet my characters on Jericho are all still below R60. Because playing with 140ms Ping is just no fun. And that's why merging Citadel and Jericho is probably not a good idea.
