It's nice to have good, ol' posts back from being dead. Some actual purpose of clans is needed.
But then again, I would love to see all that right after performance update.

i always imagined the clan contact would also let you "sell" clothing/car "patterns" to them and then they would sell copies of them to your clan for the item price, gives a money sink but also helps out clans who use uniforms or have designers.

i'm a backer of clan contact, though got to be careful about creating an unfair advantage (although, being in a clan and being semi organised is an "unfair advantage" as it is, so perhaps it would just encourage people to work as a team, thus giving everyone a better gaming experience?)

@Seadee this would make a huge impact on the actual purpose of clans in apb imho. I would just exlcude this whole thing from APB$. When i think about clan contacts i'm thinking about some currency equivalent to Joker Tickets. Having certain tasks to accomplish within the Clan or between Clans (As in Clan Wars) in order to gain "Clan coins" is gonna work alot better towards Clan Progression in the long term.

The possibility to sell copies of clan clothins/cars/symbols et cetera. through the clan contact would make everything for clans easier and more interesting to even create those clan designs. Regarding the unfair advantage as you've stated already @Seadee , being in an organzied clan/group is a slightly advantage already but it's pretty much like this in every game. I still think a Clan Contact would be a huge and nice improvement in terms of progression.

Would love to have more use out of clans, now its just another friendlist.

 

Maybe an idea for clan wars:

the two clans start at cap point C. They need to capture it or hold it for a set amount of time, and when they do they will unlock the next point towards the enemy's base, like A<b<c>d>E    A and E are the main base of the clans.

Its like they need to controll more of the city to win the war.

like in Shadowgun ? (if you ever played it) sort of "Tug of War" game mode or something like that, its fun, would work well for APB on a timed match basis (otherwise it could go forever!) i think in shadowgun you have attrition points, the more points you own the faster the enemies points goes down.

though this sort of thing would work quite well on the fightclub maps or even a big district style (i think you could make a clan war/crim v enfo mode on any of the main maps by setting spray points as the capture locations.

it becomes "clan wars" because your actively advertise whatever you spray on the point, you could easily do it as your clan, the people who do the work get their advertisement up, but it involves the whole faction so everyone gets rewarded not just the clan players, win win?

I agree, thank you! Your suggested game mode sounds like a really nice game mode or event for APB. However, I'm not even sure if there was an APB event similar to your suggested one with capturing points already? I really forgot so much form the past since I basically didn't play APB for around 2 years. 🤔

Looking forward to see this in the game one day , This has been on the forums for such a long time and i hope LO could make this possible with the upcoming Engine..
Would serve the purpose of having clans in the game other then using it as a friends list..

the parts with red and blue team, multiple flag locations. (tbh its not all that clear from any of the videos i can find, but i suppose its not all that different from Unreal Tournament's Assault and Domination game modes)

I agree with this, it would bring a sense of unity to existing clan members. Besides, it would promote the clan mechanic. APB should be a purely F2P game with regards to social functions. What use are clan titles in names if only those with premium can use them?

Man, it's been a while...

With RIOT on its way and Other games out there embracing the "Clan Cultre" (Hello Division 2) maybe LO should make sure they have a decent plan of action in place for bolstering the social aspects of a game (which a lot of AAA titles really miss out on and which was pretty much the only thing APB (RTW) nailed and didn't get surpassed on) 

this thread has a shed load of really neat things, even seeing a few of them appear in game would be fantastic.

Getting close to one year anniversary and yet no word about the necessary and important future for clan stuff. Communites are very important to MMO's but mostly they're all losing the sight and meaning of it, nowadays. Clans and communities are important for the palyerbase health and enjoyment and shouldn't be left out for years.

While I really like some of the symbols on Crim side towards the later progression here, the later enforcer ones from this list could be a bit better. Perhaps more accurate to military/law ranks perhaps?

 

Also: I think it would be really cool if they incorporated a World of Warcraft like idea.  What about unlocking a permanent , customisable vehicle (like a mount) for having progressed so far in the clan? For Enforcers, it could be a heavily armored/slow moving SWAT style truck or APC that has similar mechanics to the trash truck, slow to move, plows like a bulldozer but has room for 7x players (Maybe 5x w/ 1x being driver) w/ one of these slots including the driver, maybe not quite as slow. Crims could have some kind of equivelant or maybe a slightly different mechanic/style. A fast terrorist technical like truck or same thing, heavy/slow, lot of room. That way when you're thrown in as backup on a regular mission with more players than 4x, you can help the entire team out.

 

Now what would make it really cool as if you could use that vehicle with regular people in the server if you're solo and just playing in a group that you get thrown into. Then it would cause regulars who aren't in a clan or newer to the game to ask, "What is this? It's really cool how'd you get this?" And getting them engaged & interested in more aspects of the game.

This is easily the greatest thread on the forum 

More importantly it's seems that you've a great opportunity to increase player joining rate to APB:R that being clans 

If there is anything I'd like to see in this game the more friendly atmosphere by the community and it's hard for it to happen with all the grieving, haccusations, and the push newbies away atmosphere 

Clans are a great deal in MMO in the world and I really want this game to be much better 

So great job to @Esther and everyone who helped you on this thread, can't wait to see it get implemented

Since the engine update seems like it's on track, I think it is an good opportunity to bring this thread to the attention of @MattScott. I feel that Esther's suggestion will really benefit APB as a whole and help it retain players once the engine update is out. Would also be a good idea for @MattScott to do a road map of what his plans are after the engine update since the engine update on it's own is not going to help retain players.

The Clan Progression thread moved from a single suggestion and idea regarding clan functionality, improvement and progression thread of mine, to a community driven thread with a lot of great suggestions coming from forum members across the whole world. Together, we achieved a huge list with important suggestions to revive and bring back the importance and necessity of clans for All Points Bulletin: Reloaded.

The Clan Progression thread raised up to the most liked, voted and replied (without counting one pinned post) content in the Suggestions & Ideas – Section. Also, the thread achieved to be the third most liked content on the GamersFirst Forum overall.

3.  What’s the plan regarding clans with Little Orbit?
The most important step is to show Little Orbit that the clan progression has been left out for a decade after they removed the leaderboards for clans and players which kept the clans relevant during RTW. GamersFirst pretty much ignored this thread even though I tried several times to get in touch with a red name. However – we didn’t give up and kept being active.

4.  Gratitude Statement:
I’m going to take the possibility and try to explain my emotions and gratitude here. I want to thank everyone who supported me, the team behind the thread, the clan progression thread, and the efforts to keep the thread alive, fresh with ideas and relevant.
