hotbot Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Don't forget the shitty spawns that don't factor in water or bridges
HK33E Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Well... Looks like both Lynette Casey (The Redhead from Tigers) and Lucas Van Rooyen (Simeone's Lapdog Bodyguard) will be in WF, because that 2 empty spawn points (One for ENFORCERS and other for CRIMINALS [Can someone post 2 pics of the map please, one while ENF and other while CRIM])

We have 2 contacts yet to be Introduced (The Redhead alongside Darryl Kent on the Tigers char selection screen and The Bodygaurd of Michael Simeone) Those and the leaders of faction that is. Never knew what "specialist" mean. So ill just carry with tier 6 xD

So ill just carry with tier 6 xD They're called specialist because the old top contacts were faction leaders, and therefore there needed to be a term for them which didn't imply superiority. Additionally, each of the contact specialises roughly in one area or another. Aletta Cadagan and Gumball for example offer vehicle mods, whilst Devil Dog and Tip Toe focus more on weapons. The old developers stated a few times the reason they never released the fourth specialist contact was because they didn't have enough content to release with them. 10 minutes ago, Zealocke said: Didnt knew those. You don't need to see the spawn points to believe it. There are four specialist contacts per faction, and we have only got three of them, with two of them being in Financial. Therefore it makes sense that the final one belongs in Waterfront. You can actually see what the contacts look like in the starting screens. Lynette Casey appears on the beach with the other Prentiss Tigers, and Lucas Van Rooyen appears as the looming figure over the player in the Criminal night club. Did you also know that the rank symbols go all the way up to rank 300? The absolutely final contacts for APB could in fact be Mayor Jane Derren for Enforcers, and Luke Waskawi for Criminals, although we only have a character model for the former. Zealocke Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 (edited) didnt knew about rank, but i did knew about derren and waskawi. I certainly didnt knew the redhead and the bodyguard had an official name though #TheMoreYouKnow Edited June 21, 2018 by Zealocke

Zealocke Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 we need a thread about lore, there are so much things im missing

I think APB's lore is actually fairly solid, despite of how little of it features in game.

Zealocke Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 lets not derail the thread.. we REALLY need a Lore threat to fantalk a little xP
StaN- Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Only problem I have with Waterfront is when it becomes Laggyfront. Otherwise, I don't mind playing there at all. The map is meant to change up your play style, and allowing more play for ranged weapons. Also since when does WF get empty now that a large chunk of pop came back? O_o
sundere Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 xDD you don't know what empty district looks like, imagine being in han and need to level waterfront contacts, like i have to do time ago (2 or 3 months ago)
SelttikS Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Part of it is also left right bias of humans. Financial is on the left so all the noobs go there first.
Lato Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Because these places of the map are dumb. https://imgur.com/a/Z6tIPV1 2

Zascha Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 4 hours ago, Knite said: Because the maps were designed around the original TTK/no weapon dropoff, so big open spaces and the HVR weren't the problem they are today. This. The weapon drop off mechanic does not work with the level design in this game. Financial doesn't suffer quite as much since it's more dense in general. The streets are not as wide and there are a lot of places you can run through and loop back around and so forth. There's "stuff" in the way. It gives a wider range of play for both attackers and defenders. It's not perfect, but it's better in comparison to Waterfront. Waterfront is very spacious, and there isn't much range variance. There aren't a lot of ways to get to an objective, but there are a lot of ways to defend an objective. And most of the defense points allow for multiple long range weapons such as the HVR and/or OBIR. And these weapons simply dominate on that map. In Finanial, HVR isn't always the best option for defense because the proximity of the point and line of sight aren't working in your favor. Personally, I've never enjoyed the range drop off mechanic. It's not so much that I didn't like the idea. It's that I think it could have been handled a little better, and I knew as soon as it happened it would exploit the Level Design. It's why we are stuck in this HVR/OCA war.
Too_many_snowflakes Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Some of my most heated battles were in Waterfront.... 1

Some of the best battles can revolve around those areas. Just because Waterfront is a different style of combat doesn't mean its bad, it means adapt or die. Also you should be ashamed of your graphics settings, cause that is just ugly! Edited June 21, 2018 by SelttikS 1
