Todesklinge 143 Posted May 19, 2020 Do the Devs planing to make the Unreal Engine 5 possible in APB? This can make APB to a better game then GTA 6. But it is important to make an upgrade from UE 3,5 (now) to UE4. UE 4 to UE 5 is an easy upgrade. Will hope so for APB!
vsb 6171 Posted May 19, 2020 the transition from ue3.5 to ue4 has already been stated to be exponentially more difficult than the transition from current ue3 to ue3.5, imo its likely we'll never see apb on ue4 unless the game gets a massive population (and therefore financial) boost

Alright, better than GTA VI huh? Don't you think you are a bit exagerated?. But it is important to make an upgrade from UE 3,5 (now) to UE4. (now), you saying things like you know how to make all of this possible. UE 4 to UE 5 is an easy upgrade. APB will never get to UE 5.0x, if not in so many years. Will hope so for APB! TheJellyGoo 343 Posted May 19, 2020 It's over. At this point it is apparent that the EU was to big of a task. LO is doing a great job but sadly its just not viable. Would have wished for their success.

Rockstar makes their games more pay to win than most free to play games, with a $60 pricetag.

Oh, wait a moment... totally past my point. Literally said that LO is doing a great job and a commendable effort but that doesn't change the fact that it will be to big of a task in the end. Especially since they show so much. Anyone who isn't completely blind or a tech inept should be able to draw their own conclusions of where this is going. But hey thanks for putting it right out of context and bringing up unrelated stuff.
MrChan 337 Posted May 19, 2020 It'd probably be easier to build the game completely from scratch on UE5 than try to carry over anything we have now. Good luck waiting for that.

Good luck waiting for that. Thats right. Made APB in UE4 -> UE5 new is much easier to make than transfer the old scripts to old UE 3.0 -> 3.5. Textures can copy 1:1 to UE4, same for the static Buildings (like the City). There is no skill based system behind, APB is just a simple old shooter. Only the character and clothing customisation is not easy ro copy. Weapons, damage system and vehicle system is child play. Todd Sweeny allready sad, UE4 have a 100% easy upgrade function to UE5 (maybe with one click). But UE3 and UE4 are total different, thats why it is so hard to make an engine upgrade. For example: "Blade and Soul" is an very old MMORPG based on UE3, the Dev team made an upgrade to UE4 and after that to UE5... thats mean they can make a perfect rework as a complete new game. So you can keep your playerbase and becomes new = $$$. A win-win situation. And you can use the massive content in the game to make more etc.

Todesklinge 143 Posted May 21, 2020 That means the old APB becomes an upgrade to get old APB again? If the Engine upgrade is finished, the game is again outdated... or not?
