You know, the idea that all pellets do not impact simultaneously probably explains the whole 'shotgun hitreg lol' meme APB has always had - if the pellet raycasts are done across several server ticks instead of all in the same tick then it is actually possible for hitbox location to change significantly between the first pellet ray and the last. Maybe this change should have been done from the very beginning.

#APBPurpleMeta2018

Its clearly time for me to make a suggestion that all weapon icons be colored white. This misconception needs to die.
-
Yeah it's a good start, but it needs some polish as well. I'm personally glad that Death and Taxes/Revelations is in there too. If I hadn't already bought the latter and had my fill of the former during test periods I'd be all over those.

How I think Little Orbit is doing with APB Reloaded.
Nite replied to jimmyneutron69's topic in General Discussion Archive
Last time I saw Matt post an update on Fallen Earth it sounded like a clusterf***. As in, G1 didn't even have complete source code or development assets for them to work with. -
This feature MUST require the recipient to actually accept the gift for it to work without potential for abuse. Being forced to accept gifts from strangers who can then charge-back the purchase and potentially sink your account is not an acceptable state of affairs for this or any multiplayer game with a cash shop. I'm all for ARMAS gifting, but only if LO can implement that as a safeguard.

Coming back to APB after 5 years.
Nite replied to ProPagandaGR's topic in General Discussion Archive
The good news is there's been a few structural improvements in the last few months with more on the way. To wit: BattlEye alongside Fairfight for anti-cheat duty Revised Friends list and a trade system slated as upcoming A raised fps cap of 144Hz for high refresh players who have the horsepower for it A weapon balance pass, some network changes, a new sidearm All that said however, the long awaited Engine Upgrade is still in progress, and any large scale content additions won't really manifest until around the time it drops as well. So for now we have the prospect of improvement, a new development team to execute the improvements, and some small to medium additions. I'd say if you've not been feeling the urge to play since, maybe start of 2016, there's not much to come back to, yet (except the increased playercount maybe). -
This made me realize how easy it has been to forget that even Little Orbit is somewhat new to this kind of game management. They have the software development capability and experience, that much is beyond clear. But multiplayer gameplay balance is rather new territory for them. Fortunately the team is sufficiently self-aware of this that I can remain confident, at least for now.

Just play non-meta in Fight Club. Not like anything can happen to your threat color in there after all.

From what I've seen you'll have to scope in to get the full damage now so even after you crouch down you'll need even more time for the crosshair to shrink before u can put out the 850 hit. I think it might actually restrict the technique to only the most skilled of the skilled now....

Probably the best and most underrated part of the Most recent OTW changes. Goes a long way toward bringing some of the more recent ARMAS content back into accessibility for F2P/semi-F2P players. Thank you LO for this. (although long-term I'd more prefer a solution that looks closer to this suggestion I made here [shameless plug])

Personal thoughts about the ongoing changes.
Nite replied to Tech-San's topic in General Discussion Archive
That's been the popular thought for some time now, but honestly there's no way to prove it without some level of first hand information. No real point stressing about it at this stage. Besides, its not like u can't still kill people with the Yukon, you just can't cheat people out of CQC kills by hiding behind a corner and bullet-blitzing your pursuer when they get close enough. -

I thought not. It's not a story the Old Dev Team would tell you. It's a RTW legend. Darth DMR-SD was a Dark Lord of the Sniper role, so powerful and so wise he could use the weapon stats to influence the damage drop off to invert itself into a damage ramp… He had such a knowledge of the balance landscape that he could even kill his targets in less than the standard number of shots. The dark side of Weapon Balance is a pathway to many weapon mechanics some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was being overshadowed, which eventually, of course, he was. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice (the N-HVR) everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from near irrelevance, but not himself. -

Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth DMR-SD the wise? -
Are you guys ready for tomorrow? (Well...in 6hours?)
Nite replied to Keshi's topic in General Discussion Archive
The IR ranges have been hotfixed into being +3m, +6m, +9m which is much more reasonable. If those make it into Live tomorrow we can all probably call off the alarms. -
Since we are already talking about buffs..

Its the best of the worst in a sense, having the longest fuse timer lets it travel the furthest, and if you do manage to "reach out and touch someone" with it, that's a good 990 dmg right there. On top of which its rounds have the highest travel speed (how's that for contradiction, I thought the Kickback would have that title). Looking at the stats, The Hammer and Kickback could use a rework where the Hammer's rounds are on impact explosive, and the Kickback gets higher travel speed but has its damage radius reduced (from the current 650cm to about 470cm or so). The Hammer wouldn't be total trash anymore (but also wouldn't be as bad as panic percs), the Kickback gets more differentiation, Deep Impact stays effective, everyone wins. -
Locker sorting is badly needed Might want to post in Game Suggestions

Weapon Balance OTW Tweaks - E Testing Values
Nite replied to Beastie's topic in General Discussion Archive
Really glad that we have Weapon Mods to test with. Thanks for that. Holy shit the Oblivion. The base weapon was already much improved with the A stats, combining the latest changes with a decent mod setup (HS3,CJ3 specifically) makes it superbly fast firing while being fully accurate on every shot. Fun to use, but I'm conflicted on whether it needed this much of a buff. -

I would love if the EoL grenades flew faster to counteract the windup time. As it is now, the windup + the short range makes all the EoLs a downgrade to the OPGL, even in group combat where u could catch a target who's already busy dealing with one of your teammates, the OPGL still does that far better. -
Bricks and 8 Balls trade the ease of use of explosion damage for gimmicky damage ramp mechanics and you think they're OP? Are you serious? Actually how about we give them a buff: Let them fly in a straight line when used.

Weapon Balance OTW Tweaks - C/D Testing Values
Nite replied to Beastie's topic in General Discussion Archive
Wouldn't #3 run the risk of having the JG crowd out SMGs within that 10m range? -
Well of course, they'll be making some changes.
-
Not like APB does well at displaying all the color values it does support anyway. Unless its the crappy bloom messing things up.....

You want them to refund you on an ARMAS purchase because the meta changed or is changing? So basically you want LO (and other similar companies) to be bound to a balance landscape because any changes will prompt return requests? Yeah, gonna be a no from me dawg
