  1. It used to just be a twin barrel NFAS, then G1 upped the fire rate in 2015 or so I think it's been a talking point ever since
  2. Current IR3 has this and even if they made the effect more drastic, tap fire ARs would never see it play out in practice anyway
  3. Makes the old management look really bad with this comment tbh Regarding the generalized Improved Rifling rework, I'm a bit nervous about the theory behind it. Sacrificing max fire rate to gain effective range doesn't sound like the right downside for semi-auto rifles such as OBIR/OSCAR/Carbine/ObeyaCR, which have to compete with tap-firing assault rifles at the mid-range in usual showdowns (ObeyaCR vs. tap fire NTEC for example). Would personally prefer added recoil (vertical and horizontal) as a downside, especially so for the Fang (to somewhat cripple it at farther pistol ranges)
  4. I've had pug teammates do somewhat better against tagged/spotted enemies, probably a YMMV thing
  5. Fair enough. Any idea what's been changed for C and D test district?
  6. So how do marksman rifles like the ObeyaCR cope with this reduced fire rate? I can't imagine it does all that well in theory (though I have yet to test it)
  7. Full accuracy quickswitching will still happen, but if the would-be quickswitcher has to wait for the crosshair to shrink completely to fire that gives you more time to kill them.
  8. Proof by counter-example: Shredder SB R&D III
  9. Because people would just use the scout instead. F2P players don't have access to scouts normally anyway
  10. Has anyone gotten kills with Oblivion Test B yet? Those stats give it one hell of a buff vs. the base gun, I wanna know how that plays out in practice
  11. This change is more targeted towards Jumpshot kills and similar hug-distance max bloom kills, and yeah it will more or less neuter those.
  12. Minor things outta the way first: COBRA Adder feels much more pleasant to use and get kills with, loved it personally. Misery isn't a total disaster and the max bloom is capped much lower (enough that I was able to squeeze one or two panic kills at full auto) Oblivion isn't really different, but no mods means I can't call for sure (you can quickswitch with it now though so that's something) A variant Anubis accuracy recovery feels a bit too slow for my liking, needs more data. Crosshair could do with some vertical forks though (pure horizontal is kinda weird) Now for the meat of the matter: The new shotgun system is too powerful. It makes the CSG a 2 shot nightmare at even extreme ranges. Of lesser note, CJ3 doesn't kill the JG anymore (does make it mostly 3 shot though), DOW Thumper is a bit more deadly, Strife is one step closer to being the real CQC HVR.
  13. This exploit is the best worst thing ever. Went in to test Oblivion/OCSP and the opp is running STAR-LCR/Yukon and Volcano/Nano. So I say "scummy, but ok imma try anyway" Start getting our asses kicked by the yukon guy cuz his LCR can't beat my Oblivion + whatever my teammate had so he starts crutching that shit HARD. Finally got tired of the bs and nuked him. Then of course its TDM final stage so volcano guy decides to cut his losses and run (instead of, you know, switch to any other primary). Waited until the last 3secs and nuked him too.
  14. What this guy said, Spee and I were testing it out when I was streaming last night, every time someone attempts to friend request you, it crashes your game. Do the friend requests still show up when you relaunch after a crash?
  15. Agreed wholeheartedly, as it is right now there's no way to get any of the mods I need to test some of the weapon changes (I personally can't verdict the new Oblivion because I can't replicate my standard mod loadout on OTW). Either that or have OTW just auto-set new toons to 195 with max weapon roles so we can buy them the usual way.....
  16. It could always be done post-engine upgrade to entice new players. Us vets have gone through all the ARMAS stuff sure, but its not like its always gonna be only vets playing hopefully...
  17. Weapon Test district was a nice opportunity for reg players to try out guns they didn't have (I got plenty time with the Rabid/Frenzy during those days myself) so if that comes around again, it could be the way
  18. LO doesn't have a means to detect "detheaters" vs. "skill flip-floppers". Unless you want them to go off user submitted "evidence".
  19. Sounds like technical debt due to the previous management not keeping up with software development well enough at all Appreciate the update though, thanks
  20. Thanks Matt, hope you and the rest of LO are having an otherwise stress-free sunday
  21. LO has their own internal monitoring to watch for cheaters. Fret not. /report was removed to be replaced. LO wants a more comprehensive solution for reporting issues from in-game.
  22. If this also means civvies don't walk around with the hp of a guy who just done got HVRed then yeah this could be interesting
  23. If you want to get rid of these (and those mobile cover shields) without firing a shot or nading, press F the very moment your character stops the climb. Usually you'll end up grabbing it on the way down.
  24. More likely, enemy hitbox on the server doesn't match enemy character model on your screen. The bigger issue is UI based - shotguns (except the strife) use the same crosshair as rifles, which tells you nothing about where you're aiming the "cone of influence" vs where your target is. Shotguns need a new, Strife derived crosshair that's more informative.
