1. We have BattlEye. It's doing alright but there's still a small amount of cheaters around. 2. Showstopper (pistol shotgun) with both Armas and JMB variants. You can also now get many Armas guns in the Joker store. RAF isn't likely to come back any time soon. 3. Engine upgrade is 'soon' but no ETA.

are you going to do something about the cheating problem?
Kiida replied to Parthian's topic in General Discussion Archive
Yes, and they're all Russian. -
Basically, the UE3.5 port can be done without too much rewriting needed (as far as APB goes at least... yikes, RTW), it's mostly for optimisation and some new content to tide us over. But an upgrade to UE4 will require completely rebuilding the game from the ground up as the two engines are so different. Though it will be far easier to update the game afterwards. Still gonna be a good couple of years away at least, here's hoping we're still going https://forums.unrealengine.com/development-discussion/content-creation/2596-transferring-from-ue3-to-ue4 https://forums.unrealengine.com/community/general-discussion/101273-is-it-possible-to-upgrade-a-project-built-in-ue3-to-ue4 https://wiki.unrealengine.com/UE3_to_UE4_Transition_Guide

I don't use VOIP but I wouldn't exactly say it's a top priority for them, just something else small that needs fixing. They have different teams working on different things to get it all out quicker.

The points system needs to be flat out removed. It was one of the worst updates this game has ever received.

Until you get sniped by literally everyone every time you spawn.

The baba ji spam has been happening on the APB/FE forums for several years. They know we need a little love in our lives.

Was DOA anyway.

APB Reloaded First Impressions - What The Actual Fuck?
Kiida replied to CookiePuss's topic in General Discussion Archive
First comment I read, Martinz summed it up well enough. Not gonna bother watching the video after that. That guy should give up his review 'career', he's awful at it. -
Scrollwheel firing is a gimmick. It doesn't help you in the long run, only scuffs your aim and sense of fire rate.

1, This is somewhat how threat worked prior to Q1 2013 patches that introduced the points system alongside semi-segregated districts. Anyone could join any district, but were penalised for joining those in a much lower threat than their own (gold in bronze lost something like 40% of cash and standing). Used to be much easier for newbies to get into the game (speaking from experience - I joined just a few weeks before this patch). 2. Maybe as a temporary solution until the big future updates, sure, but not permanent. It would just make for far less variety in the game (not that there currently is much anyway) - no one would play on Waterfront, given the option (which we see right now). Once the engine upgrade is out, servers are improved, and we have cross-district matchmaking then we'll see an increase in player count again and start filling up both. Just have to wait and hope LO can really turn things around. 3. Disabling/hiding threat completely will be the final nail in the coffin for APB. No one played on Open Conflict for a reason, with it having non-existant matchmaking, where a single trainee was matched up against a group of four R200+. What SHOULD be done is they revert a majority of changes G1 made after Q1 2013 (see above) as that's where things started going downhill. What I could suggest is trying to get a group of friends or a clan together to do organised matches there, you're not the only one that's fed up that you can't level up right now.

Why are APB servers worse than ever now
Kiida replied to KattSavage's topic in General Discussion Archive
In my personal experience, if this was 100% true then I'd have been banned long before my false positive from Fairfight, or stayed banned afterwards. Tiggs hated me, but she was professional enough to see that a ban was unjust and overturned it. Not saying she was perfect but that's just my own experience. -
There are clips of him and his group members speedhacking too.

This. It wasn't as underpowered as claimed, being more reliable than PMG, with the Whisper having more versatility with killing potential up to 30-40m. The OCA was possibly the most balanced SMG in the game and given an unnecessary buff.

Old version still playable after EU is released?
Kiida replied to Danimal's topic in General Discussion Archive
Can't really compare the console ports to the proper PC EU though, they had to remove a LOT of content to even get it working, including the day/night cycle. And it still runs like patootie. Just shows that APB was never built for consoles, even if RTW might have intended it to be at some point. The Asylum render test footage showed better looking graphics and though textures weren't really changed, they did feel more real, less washed out. 2 and a half years later FeelsBadMan -
Old version still playable after EU is released?
Kiida replied to Danimal's topic in General Discussion Archive
The main difference between the current game and the engine upgrade is that the EU will not be playable on 32-bit Windows systems. It will require 64-bit. So unless you're still running on Vista or something there'll be no issue. Other than that, lower end PCs should perform much better with the more optimised engine. -
Yeah I figured it'd be down to the 145fps cap, didn't something similar (Iow gravity or whatever?) happen way back around RTW times when they tried unlimiting fps?
-
This comes up quite often actually, but really there's nothing we can do other than wait until the engine upgrade. It's a shame because the game did feel a lot more lively with the old RTW shaders, lighting, etc. And the decrease in texture quality is why I never bothered getting into heavy designing. I do use the advanced launcher to set texture res to 4096 (lol) for the sake of high quality customising, not that it makes a difference in the end. Better than nothing.

There's also a small clan on Citadel that do pretty much the same thing (and their main guy even streams while blatantly cheating), anyone who's been around a while knows who they are.

New Weapon changes and improved rifling mod feed back
Kiida replied to WorldDominator's topic in General Discussion Archive
All the Ogre really needs is a lot less pellet spam and ammo count. If you've ever faced someone who uses it you should notice that your hitmarkers disappear and a lot of your shots don't seem to do anything, that's the main problem with it really. -
New Weapon changes and improved rifling mod feed back
Kiida replied to WorldDominator's topic in General Discussion Archive
Anyone who uses CJ on the OSCAR is a moron, it's one of the worst mods to put on it. OCA is a very good weapon, and was needlessly buffed a year or two back to have a faster fire rate, making it even better. True Ogre destroys hitreg for anyone that goes against it. Dog-Ear is underrated af. It's now way better than the Obeya in terms of range and speed, before this patch it was about equal. It can also jumpshoot like the old Scouts.
