  1. In a game that's so easy to cheat and reroll in, excessive hackusations, right or wrong, will always be an aggressive symptom.
  2. If you want to seriously stop cheaters, you have to be serious about it. You know the whole "reason x is why we can't have nice things?" Unfortunately, cheaters put us in a precarious position where if we want to effectively shut them down we have to actually do something that is truly effective and will deter recurrences. The consequences of the cheater culture on gaming truly cannot be measured and is likely more far-reaching than most would ever realize. I'd really love to see some smart people get together to analyze their impact and put a dollar amount on the damages they're projected to have caused to the industry. I guarantee that even a conservative projection would be mind-blowing. There are definitely some trade-offs to be made to secure online games permanently against cheaters with the threat of real life consequences either criminal or otherwise. I'm okay with that.
  3. Cheaters ruined the game first and foremost. They're ruining it now. They ruin lots of games. Cheating just isn't taken seriously enough in ways that will actually deter people from cheating. Should be a criminal offense or tied to your citizen rating or whatever it is they do in China.
  4. By my rough estimations, LO still has about 3+ years until they they take longer than G1. At least it's on consoles amirite? Being mad at LO isn't going to help; they're certainly more transparent and seem to be trying much harder than G1 ever did.
  5. Xbox truly offers a full APB experience now that it gets DDoS'd.
  6. As I'm sure others have said, 30 is ridiculously low. In my experience, a determined player can get to level 30 in like 30-60 minutes.
  7. Some people deserve to be at the back of the line, just saying.
  8. In a serious response to this thread, all games should have items that are "rare" as it makes it a little more interesting. Everyone having everything is bland and boring. I'm particularly sorry to original owners of the back double-gun holsters (female only). What an awesomely rare item to have until it was finally re-released. I was also an original owner of the 3D Glasses too. And I spent a year on the market saving for an FFA 3-Slot. It's great to have rare things to work for and seek out, of course, once they stop being rare, they lose their appeal. I will always support rare things and tell people to suck it up, whether I have a chance to obtain them personally or not.
  9. I'm probably the only person in this thread that knows what this word means without googling it
  10. I don't care for the design and playstyles of the Oscar and Carbine; they're my least favorite guns to play against. There's definitely a strong negative stigma that's been perpetuated over the years due to the types of players that used to use them so heavily as well.
  11. The latter is definitely true, but think of all the time and money wasted on trying to combat cheaters in this game. Think of all those players that put their feet down and said, "that's enough for me I'm out." The truth is, there's no way to accurately quantify the damage cheaters have done in all aspects of the game, but I am of the belief that it has caused significant damage both to game's bottom line and player retention. I think our populations would be much higher today without the cheater culture this game has.
  12. I wish the rest of the world took cheating as seriously as South Korea. Maybe such measures can save future games from having to suffer at the hands of these types of people. Can you imagine what APB might be like today if there had never been any cheaters?
  13. I don't know where to find it, but I think they might be referring to how bloom used to be more of a plus shape than simply the full circle it is now? I wish they'd remove their stupid encryption/compression. It's 2019, there's no reason an ancient game like APB needs to take 20 years to even open.
  14. The probably didn't have any better ideas for a title. Autumn Assault could have been the title imo?? /shrug. For winning first place I understand you'd want something shiny for it so I understand being let down here.
  15. Players that think like the OP is why we don't have nice things in APB.
  16. I still think Legendaries should be meta viable at least, if not somewhat strong.
  17. Sure, but my point is that BattleEye bans for cheating, not other things. AFAIK it hasn't been abused like FairFight was to hand out bans for things other than cheating.
  18. Well if you're banned by BattleEye, you were cheating, as that's the point of BattleEye. MattScott has also explained that this is the process when BattleEye initiates an automatic ban on your account. What is it with old cheaters (and their friends) always trying to create misdirection?
  19. This kind of comment surprises me coming from a good player. Yukon is less effective against better players that know they're up against it. It's kind of a one-trick. I mean I generally never had much trouble myself playing against it, but I also never jumped on the hate-train which might make the difference. I'm not a collective thinker. Not saying you are either, just that I'm surprised you take that stance.
  20. You're right, I guess the issue was how sweeping and rushed those changes were and the overall downsides to those changes. Adjusting Legendaries should be a bit easier and less controversial I would think. Plus it's a good platform for them to test their understanding of game balance before jumping back on the mainstream weapons.
  21. This might have been because no one asked for, nor wanted these changes overall. People are asking for Yukon changes; I am asking for Legendaries to be viable in general. I think there is a distinct difference here, it's just a matter of whether they think it's worth their dev time right now as I am probably in a minority. Those wanting Yukon buffs are probably a very small minority.
  22. Though this has been beaten to death already, my two cents is that the gun never needed a nerf; it has an effective range of < 8 meters and the burst mode is just terrible in marksman. In practice, the gun barely kills in one clip unless your target is herpty derping in a straight line at you. Was just the NFAS of secondaries. As it were, even in it's "alleged" OP state, they were very rare to encounter save a couple of dedicated players. Anyway, nerf happened, whatever, made many angry, made others happy. The ultimate problem I have is that the weapon just sucks. Auto is just too slow, marksman burst is too slow and clunky. Speed that up a little, maybe 5-10% slower than RFP in marksman, 10% slower than it was pre-nerf full auto, and maybe give it a couple more meters of accurate hip-fire range. Something to that effect. All Legendaries should be allowed to be viable with the meta.
  23. I've not had a computer that couldn't handle apb competently ever. Even in 2012 my computer was just fine for APB. That means people are running some seriously weak systems if stuff like this is STILL affecting you 6 years later.
  24. I love that you have a poll for this. I personally did not participate and hope that I wouldn't be included if this is something you end up handing out. Whether the event is flawed or not, I imagine it was tough to complete due to the fact the player population could be really low and the event unplayable.
