  1. These screenshots were the result of Tiggs (or TechMech) from the good ol' days of their ownership over G1. They could've easily had a dev make new screenshots (or do it themselves) but no they decided to shift the burden over to the community to do one of the most basic and easiest tasks. And even then, they half-assed their judging because now the store page is a cluster fuck of inconsistent screenshots of different graphical settings & resolutions. Hopefully they'll clean up the steam page when the engine upgrade is finally finished.
  2. Sadly, this is why regulations and laws are needed in order to keep businesses in check. Because the current system is still the same where you spin for a chance to earn a reward. And more often than not, you get items that are neither valuable or desirable. It removes the strong arming tactic of holding items behind an RNG chance to obtain them. It's so, you don't end up buying hundreds of lootboxes because you failed to get that one item that you wanted. They could easily re-organise the drops in the JMBs into weapon or clothing packs that contain multiple items. Plus, leased weapons for real world money is stupid and in of it self a nasty pratice that should also be removed from Armas entirely.
  3. They've tried for years to blame video games for mass shootings in America it's never been successful because of the lack of evidence to support such a claim. Where as things such as Gaming & Gambling Addictions are known and well documented addictions that destroy a persons life. And yes, Gaming Addiction was recently recongised as a form of addiction (thanks to Fortnite). Where the person in question neglects even the basic functions of living to play video games. The whole topic on that kind of addiction though is unrelated to the current one which is about our virtual slot machines known as Loot Boxes. The problem is not with how people choose to spend their money but with how businesses choose to act when it comes to this sort of thing. We have literal business presentations that explain to other business suits on how to take full advantage of someones pysch to rope them into spending. We also now have the standard of a game releasing with the bare mininum amount of content with additional content being locked behind aggressive monetization pratices. It's great that you, like many others, have self-restraint and are able to make rational purchase decisions. But sadly, others are not able to and it's these people that businesses pray upon. And sadly, this leads to these businesses making decisions that ultimately are harmful and toxic to the consumer base within this industry by enforcing pratices that are intended for milking these people. This current shitstorm however set in motion after EA released their own Battlefront 2 where they had locked any form of progression behind microtransactions & lootboxes. This was on top of the fact that the game had released with only a few maps and completely missing features with the promise of them in future via a season pass. It was basically a strong arm tactic at getting as many people that had already spent $60 or more into spending even more money, just to play the game that had purchased. It got even worse, when business reps from EA lied to government officials on what defined a lootbox, which has now resulted into the dumpster fire growing even larger. There's been several online commentators of the industry such as YongYea & Jim Sterling who have reported & commentated on lootboxes and other nasty business pratices for a long time now. Plus, we're only now starting to discover that the "1%" or "whales" not actually wealthy people, but those with actual, serious, gambling and/or spending problems. Adjusting the rates does not solve the problem I am afraid. Lootboxes need to move away from the virtual slot machine approach of spinning on a drop list of random items. Currently as it stands, Dota 2 is the only game that I am aware of that offers what is currently the best form of lootbox. Crates in Dota 2 give you entire item sets and you are guaranteed to get every set in the crate at least once before dupes are possible. But alas, it's the only game that has such a lootbox because of Chinese Consumer Laws and Valves desire to have Dota 2 be available in China. Currently, the options are to massively overhaul the joker boxes or to outright remove them. This game was bled dry by the previous owners after many years of neglect and abuse. Until steps are taken to allow this game to finally start healing again, they need to do this. If you value consumer good will, you will take this shit out.
  4. Lootboxes are a cancer on this industry. If your business is being kept a float by abusing the pysch of those with gambling addictions then you need a serious re-think. F2P or not, Lootboxes need either massive reform or their entire removal. Get rid of this entire RNG crap.
  5. All this fuss over an age rating that isn't even enforced. Jeeze.
  6. They sold the IP rights to future titles under the APB brand. They didn't sell APB: Reloaded.
  7. Or, just have little to no knowledge on video games and are sitting in a support job that only requires for them to follow a set of instructions for a specific set of problems.
  8. Yet, these support staff are probably those that work on min wage and have never played APB or games in general.
  9. Because they are probably not trained on how to identify if someone is cheating or not. Therefore it's entirely down to the anti-cheat software to catch these players despite the fact that it's impossible to do so. Fair Fight was at the least able to crunch some math to catch some players doing impossible shit but alas we all know how much abuse was done via manual FF bans to ruin the anti-cheats reputation here. The solution would be to either, train some support staff that are specialized in dealing with cheating cases OR provide their own server side anti-cheat that runs math checks on the players stats to determin if they are actually cheating or not.
  10. Sadly due to human nature, opening up the possibility of multiple characters using the same nickname would result towards users impersonating others to take advantage of the less fortunate. And despite how much information you can throw at the user base to keep them informed, there'll always be a portion of them that actively fall for it. Honestly, they just need to come up with a better way of determining who gets priority of the rights to a nickname if the timescale between them is so close. Neither total playtime or character age is going to cut it in these cases I am affraid. But regardless of it, this is not an easy or careless call to make.
  11. Also rejects Steam Logins as well. Seems the login server broke.
  12. Sadly, due to the nature of single threading in software, the performance of the program is at the mercy of the current work load that the program has to process. Everything in single-threading basically runs similar to single lane road, which can be overwhelmed more quickly if enough cars pile onto it at once. Overclocking only helps mitigate this problem by allowing for faster processing times. But no amount of sheer compute power is going to resolve certain functions or systems in the game that are causing excessively long compute times. As a result, the framerate drops are the result of the program having to wait for the process to finish, long wait times from this can easily be caused by external factors, such as the hard-drive being unable to complete the task of suddenly writing several MB of error messages into a log file within a split second. This can easily be witnessed as either frame drops or (in my case) extreme stutter lag and freezes. Ultimately though, the only solutions to this kind of performance problem is to either optimize the hell out of your code or work towards multi-thread support. Which is the goal they are aiming for with the Engine Upgrade anyway. On a personal note, I would love to know if there is a launch command option to disable game logging as I don't like how a play session results in a 300MB log file full of error messages that are only really useful to the developers. While yes, it can be helpful in support cases, most of the time these logs are pointless to collect if they are not needed most of the time.
  13. So RFP is now, "lol what's a primary weapon?". A CQC Secondary (of all things), should not be able to gun down a player beyond 30m.
  14. It took him this long to finally realize one of the problems plaguing this game. Honestly, it'll probably take him a few more years to learn of all the other issues plaguing the game. Honestly, this display of behavior now explains why Matt doesn't listen to the community outside of his fuckups. SCPT is full of players in Ivory Tower Position of this game. That are probably telling him that nothing is wrong and that they should ignore what is said on the forums because "they don't know what they're talking about" syndrome.
  15. Come back when you have VR viewpoint in the actual game and not in a virtual desktop.
  16. The very start of this cycle takes place in Silver, having to face Golds that don't know the thing called "missing shots". You know, the brains average accuracy is down right terrible yet we have people that rarely miss shots and pull off perfectly precise tracking. It really makes you think how screwed everything is when GMs and devs miss the most balantly obvious shit. Players in Silver are either forced to quit the game or dethreat to rofl stomp on players in Bronze, usually the ones that decide to dethreat instead of quitting, are often those that like degrading other people.
  17. This is the true reason why the console versions failed to pass QA testing. Road Safety is more important than client crashes.
  18. Waiting forever for a round to start kills the mode. The broken spawns and the near useless hazmat suits kill the mode. "What is missing shots?" golds in premade groups against others (especially silvers & bronzes) kills the mode.
  19. I use advanced launcher because of a unique lag issue that I continously experience. I can easily run the game at a constant 100fps, regardless of graphical settings. However, there is a random lag spike that results in the game freezing for a few seconds, sometimes up to a minute. With the advanced launcher however, the lag only lasts for under a second and occurs less frequently. Banning something like the advanced launcher is a stupid thing to do. If you want people to stop using certain software like this, then you must look at what the software is offering that improves the experience of your game. And let's be honest, the graphical settings in the game are incredibly poor and need to be expanded upon.
  20. Reduce spawn rate of hazmats, remove or reduce cooldown to a low value (like 10 seconds) and limit carrying amount to 2 or 3. Often it's pointless to carry so many.
  21. I think people are honestly over reacting to this because of the "it's not the engine upgrade" syndrome. This gamemode is ok, it's not the worst and I can see it having more replayability than the other gamemodes that resulted in you just driving or camping for 15 minutes. However, the gamemode does need improvements like removing the cooldown on the hazmat suits, especially when you've ended up spawning deep inside the death zones.
  22. More like DSP Gaming. The character breaks aren't character breaks.
  23. Sorry the hamsters for the new RIOT servers managed to escape. The update will be postponed until we can catch them.
  24. He goes on massive rants and refuses to listen to anyone who is trying to explain anything to him. Especially when it comes to vastly complex problems that plague the game like DDoS attacks.
