Well most of the dedicated cheaters are afraid to try it with BE. However I think that BE might have been bypassed right now. I have noticed some players that have not been playing at all since BE but have come back this week to become some big aimers. The good players have been playing almost non stop but those people seem to have magically appeared out of nowhere. My guess is they refrained from playing until something had bypased BE.

I don't want APB to be like other games, I want APB to be APB.

Scammed out of my Condor .45 :(
VanilleKeks replied to Trednot's topic in General Discussion Archive
I'm not giving you any either. I've been scammed when I was a kid and since then it has never happened again. I'm just giving you some advice so that you hopefully don't lose your hard earned weapon again. -
Scammed out of my Condor .45 :(
VanilleKeks replied to Trednot's topic in General Discussion Archive
Scamming happens in every game that doesn't have a secured way to trade. This game isn't any different. In general you shouldn't trust total strangers on the internet. You let yourself get scammed so I suggest you learn from this experience. Do note that by no means am I excusing scammers here, they are total twats for sure, but it's not like they have control over your actions. If you do a trade, always send your item last, whether you will be a scammer or not is, well, your choice I guess. The few times I've traded I always have the other party send first and luckily due to my activity in the community people tend to know that I'm trustworthy. However, anyone can make up anything. It's the internet after all. -
Explain to me why I couldnt call backup please.
VanilleKeks replied to a topic in General Discussion Archive
Well I'd say it still applies. From my own experience it seems rank is also a factor in matchmaking allthough threat has priority. I noticed that while playing on a low rank in EU. Against some max rank golds in a 1v1 they could call backup. So in that case my threat was significantly higher than theirs, making the system ignore the rank difference. However in some matches that I considered pretty equal in terms of skill I could call backup cause I was a low rank. Now since I can't see the actual hidden threat, this is just a theory. However I believe in the example you posted, all of the 6 players' rank + threat nullified the difference and was considered equal by the system. -

High rank silver on your team was probably treated as equal to the lower rank gold on the enemy team. Threat doesn't represent skill anyway so it's just unlucky. -
I don't get this community sometimes

Why'd you choose me for that example? Hmmm -
I posted multiple videos now of people cheating, and others have too. It isn't a question of name and shame, None of us are mentioning names. Were only showing a video off that is clearly showing content of people cheating who are evading bans. If you like watching videos of people cheating and think it should be allowed as long as they're making good content and bringing publicity to the game, then that's a different discussion. From the forum rules: - No Naming/Shaming If you believe someone is cheating please reach out to our support or to our GMs Also, 1. You don't have any objective proof they are cheating, 2. Your opinion is not objective proof. 3. The videos you linked belong to active players. Posting more than one youtuber doesn't change anything. Due to point 1 & 2 this makes it name and shame. It's really not that hard to understand. You seem to be rather unwilling to understand, so I won't bother anymore.

It doesn't matter. Discussing whether an individual is cheating is not allowed on the forums. OP seems to think this doesn't apply here because anxiie posts public videos, but it still does. That's all I'm saying. Remove the name and shame and the mods shouldnt lock this. Aslong as people don't point to specific peeps.

Where not talking about him, were talking about youtubers posting videos of themselves chearly cheating. I don't care if you like they're gameplay and content. Cheating is cheating and that's all that matters. Your discussion is alright. However the second you linked videos as examples, you have broken the name and shaming rule. In this context you are using videos to prove your point about cheating youtubers. Additionally, just because you think that is definite proof, doesn't mean it is. Since there is no objective proof of him cheating, using him as an example is bound to cause slander. Which classifies as naming and shaming. Remove the example videos and you can have this discussion without mods locking it soon enough.

1. The name and shaming rule is about not naming ingame players to harass, bully or otherwise negatively discuss an individual. Because the forums are not the place for such discussions. If you want to report a player for whatever reason it goes to support. I think you missunderstood the rule there. 2. is someone I occasionally watch and you should too. Look at anything other than his aim and you will notice the whole package. The gameplay is from someone who's a veteran like many others. Of course he could be cheating, I don't know. However considering the way he plays, his years of playing etc. Most likely not.

On topic: I've been max cop for years and I occasionally do LTL. I've experienced this stuff too (not as often as you are claiming though). Keep in mind that in FC there is alot more players that could potentionally kill your stuns by accident or on purpose. I found LTL to be most enjoyable in premade missions. Still, I'd like to see some demerits for stunkilling etc. Off-topic: Now I've had several whispers from you over the years and they are generally not that friendly. I personally don't mind and I often try to reason and explain things to "rage" whispers. More often than not it works too. However even though it doesn't bother me, your behaviour seems to bother others so it's natural (not saying it's justified to grief you) that you would experience some flak back.

Oca Nano VS Mountie "Nunavut"
VanilleKeks replied to Delete884943468320878423's topic in General Discussion Archive
For anyone else thinking about buying secondaries. The Joker RFP Fang (the one with IR3) is really the only secondary worth buying imo. The Colby .45 is often considered a viable alternative to the FBW, so try it out if you can first. However I find the FBW to be more reliable in most situations. If you want to learn the FBW way, buy the Sight Zero preset (it has RS1) from a contact, imo that's the best pistol in the game atm. -

Since your so keen about seeing and believing, how about you open your eyes and realize that not everyone that kills you is a cheater. -

Upcoming Weapon Balance changes

The thing with quickswitching is not about whether it takes skill or not. It's about a mechanic that completely bypasses the intended shortcomings of a sniper rifle. When players find ways and quirks for certain things in games it can be good and bad. In my opinion the hvr quickswitch falls in the latter category. -
While I agree that macro software is technically a third party tool, keep in mind that alot of the marksman players have used the weapons for hundreds or thousands of hours, allowing them to adjust the fire rate in fights in ways that can't be matched by any macro. You don't always want max fire rate.

There were a few individuals who abused their SPCM status resulting in us losing access to bronze districts. Please don't lump all of us in the same boat, we just had some bad apples. As for the mentor idea. The Volunteer GM program is currently in the making and should hopefully help out alot. However having new players be taught primarily by GMs isn't an effective long term solution. Neither do I believe we need a major revamp on the tutorial. It could need some minor tweaks but the biggest priority is creating an environment where new players can learn and become willing to learn. With a better threat system and matchmaker, there should be districts where new players can thrive and learn themselves, which grants a much more natural and enjoyable learning curve. The Volunteer GMs/Normal GMs can answer any additional questions players might have.

HS3 and CJ3 on a maniac? Try RS1, Mob Sling and EM3, that rocks (credit to PrincessLuna for telling me about that setup). Becomes a CQC Atac but better. On topic: 0 score means 0 rewards, no need to sugarcoat things. If threat isn't changed with a score of 0 then afk de-threating is impossible anyway.

Dealing with high skilled players
VanilleKeks replied to Jorlak's topic in General Discussion Archive
In general the only way to deal with good players is to improve yourself, however this game can be heavily abused when you play in a group. A stack of 4 that plays really nasty will abuse two main strategies: - Heavy cars: These things are incredibly imbalanced when used correctly. What you do is drive up to someone, preferably when he doesn't have cover and then make sure to jump out of your car on the opposite side, this will result in you having around 75% of your hitbox covered by your hunk of metal but you can still easily shoot over it. Unless you mess up really bad by aiming like a fruit or accidently getting out on the wrong side leaving you open, this will almost always result in a kill for you. Do it with more than one player in the car for extra effect. - The spawn system: The veterans know the general spawn locations on the map without even really thinking about it, it just comes from experience. This means that they can predict where you will spawn rather efficiently. Add onto that the fact that most people tend to spawn the closest to the objective, they can just use the heavy car strat I just mentioned to completely roll you over and over. I'm sure you've experienced a mission like that countless times. So what is the counter? There is no direct counter sadly, but there's a couple things you can do: - Prevent them from splitting you up: By making sure that all of your team spawns together and/or is in close proximity of each other, you can prevent them from just jumping one of you over and over. Admittedly this is rather hard in public matchmaking, but it allows you to ambush them and potentially stop their momentum. - Force them out of their comfortzone: Now this is what I generally find to be the most effective. Alot of these people need their cars as crutches and will often just sit in their cars if they can't rush you with it, until they find an opportunity to do it. This allows you to bait them into making a mistake. You can lure them out of position and then nuke the car with your friends or trick them into getting out and then kill them together. Or you could allow a teammate to ninja the point, it all depends on the situation really. Now there is more stuff, car spawns, radar towers, spotter, 3rd person camera, corner popping to name a few, but I don't wanna make this even longer. Overall you will have some really frustrating games where the enemy abuses all sort of stuff and if they're good players too, it becomes almost impossible to win unless you have a 4 stack too. The best tip I can give you is to just forget about the win. Winning in APB really only adds 600 score, which is nothing. So next time you get rolled by some sweatlords, just try to play for yourself instead. -
Looking forward towards the new infrastructure, especially server side. Ignoring the current meltdowns, the game has always felt a little off when it comes to server performance.

Community GM'S will basically be SPCM
VanilleKeks replied to Iodyne's topic in General Discussion Archive
I'd rather the applicants get approved based on competence and not popularity. If you can have both, that's great. As an ex-SPCM I can tell you that this new program has the advantage of less negative stigma in the air. It was hard to get taken seriously as an SPCM by anything other than newer players and in my experience the frustration was taken out on me and most likely other SPCMs, since we had a "connection" to G1. I was either spammed with troll questions to waste my time or just straight up harassed multiple times. The SPCMs I worked with were all very commited but I think over time this sort of stuff really demotivated us. However, this new program is coming from LO which has already done good for the community and keeps hope growing. With this new atmosphere surrounding the game I believe I can reach alot more players more effectively, which is why I applied.
