I thank LO for taking over APB but if the local curry house went from Chinese to McDonalds without changing the sign outside, would you expect Chinese when you entered the door and would you be confused and disappointing when it was not there? SO they made RIOT. It is NOT an APB type game we wanted so disappointment ensues. Lets go back to the drawing board. Its not a bad thing to get rid of something that's bad. It will show the community that they ARE listening to us. We will PAY REAL MONEY for things we like while if we dont like it, the community will continue to get smaller and pay LESS money. This has to be obvious.

this is brilliant. I too have been here for said time and while I am not heavily in to the lore I appreciate that allot of people are and RIOT just shits all over it. LO do not know enough about APB to write the story. And This: (P.S. well i was thinking in general districts. You might not be in a mission at the time this type of event/mission starts so you can just jump right in. No teams, no factions, just chaos and a RIOT!

yea we all used to talk about territory control and we all decided it was going to be great when they get it done.. You just know that if the hold position was the gas canister things from riot and they we placed in spots around the maps and you had to capture and hold them for some kind of reward it would be shit hot. Announce the position of an active canister thing as a warning in the UI and a timer until its active then a time left till its captured before it blows up or something similar. Now thats a RIOT! Winner gets X amount of JT.

the way i see it is if there were going to be so much interest in BR style games with APB, and after all it has been evident that this was coming soon for a long time, where are the returning players who have been just itching for this type of thing in APB now that the BETA version is here and live? I see no influx of new or old player coming to try out RIOT. Looks like this has been a bad mistake for you LO. Maybe you should listen to your players and concentrate on what we actually want. Engine Upgrade, improved Servers and the other every day requests from the forum members and players of your game. Right now I do not see an increase in popularity for APB. Also FYI, the Steam Forums are also not exactly lit up with RIOT posts..

thats not what I asked. If you cared about APB then why would you not tell the company who own it any information to help the game such as you know (or at least claim to) that there is a cheat for the new anti cheat? the site isnt up at all and the facebook group has less people on it than the HAN server Merged. haters gonna hate.. If I had info about cheaters or cheats being produced I would tell LO. It is the people who have made the cheats in the past who have driven this community to despair and driven away thousands of players. I would expect no less from SPY and his friends though. Full on negativity constantly on the forums. Thing is even with the cheaters in the game, the game still lives on so they are not winning.

i totally agree with this. I can not see RIOT attracting a shed load more players; if any at all. If it is something to look forward to then it will be much more fun when it arrives. If its just there as a kind of weird BR version of APB then it is not an improvement and will again fragment the players we already have. Also like I said before in another thread, having it as a separate game mode all together feels unnatural for APB. APB is played in the city as a kind of living environment. The huge map stripped of everything except the buildings feels far to stark and in turn makes the game grind on until its just boring. If RIOT was removed I would not miss it. If it was a season thing that only happened say for a few weeks every year and changed slightly each time, I would look forward to it as an event.

i would prefer it all in /d at all times so it feels like an actual part of what is happening in game right now. I dont think ill be playing Riot again. It quickly got boring and felt very very empty.

Yea I think they are looking for the long game here. Probably would be a good idea to ask the paying customers what they would like in the game though.

Hasnt this been the case for ever? Since when G1 took over back in 2011 the servers have been constantly in the same situation. They reduced the amount of player per district thinking this would fix things but not much changed. @MattScott why dont you just get shit hot servers? Will that actually fix the issue?

im using 1920 x 1080 and I see it as well right there. Its pretty annoying

this is a good point. /d is working as expected and is still fun so yes this is very true. I want new things to play with but i dont want strange things. I want Phasing and /d coordination for matchmaking. this would in my opinion be a good thing to coordinate efforts towards. valid points. I have developed games (one took 4 years) so i know this is very true. BUT I think APB with BR style expectations wont work. If not enough people knew APB beforehand it will look like some weird BR rip off.

Im just going to enjoy APB as it is. I have no real hope that LO will do something remarkable.

A visionary is great if the visionary played APB for the past 8 years like we have and sees something that we are essentially missing. If it is a new person that has just came on board with LOs acquisition, then the visionary needs to be controlled and not let loose. Just because G1 had a system in place for a pseudo Battle Royal game doesn't mean that is was good for the game. An unfinished experiment that is taken over and developed further, still doesn't make the experiment viable. I think G1s outgoing staff and directors (company owners) may have deluded LO with this partial experiment as a sales pitch saying that we as players want this. The fools listened to the seller on the way off the sinking ship and continued on with the non viable experimental mode to is delivery last week. Now the empty districts must show a message that we don't want it so please remove it and concentrate on functions and features we do want and are more than willing to support with good hard cash payments.

Hey all. If no one asked for RIOT, why was it made? I get the point that G1 had a semi RIOT based game made before LO got here but again, no one ever asked for this type of game even from G1. If we were not happy with the game as it is we would have asked for major changes. I dont recall anyone asking for any major changes to the game in this type of direction. I have no issues with APB. For me the game runs perfectly at all times. If anything, the engine upgrade might just make the game look better but really, there is nothing wrong right now with APB. I have never asked for anything more than the normal bug fixes, better anti cheat and maybe some map tweaks to camping spots but even then i am 99% happy with APB. We have the new Anti Cheat so thats cool with me. A new map would be great if nothing else. I see now that people are NOT playing RIOT already as it takes to long to get in to a game - new people are not going to play RIOT as they will instantly be stomped all over by golds. This is so wrong for APB. Any type of answer is unlikely from a dev but you never know.

i was thinking the same thing.. BUT whats the point. It will never be implemented simply because we got something no one asked for so even if we do ask for something, it will never be delivered.
