Well, +180ms is almost a quarter of a second, in a game with TTK values around 0.65 sec even 150ms is a lot and could end up making your chances to get a kill needing up to +1 more shot or so with any average auto/semi-auto weapon. From the southern countries of America getting relative decent values due to distance from the server would be anything around 150ms, there's an issue where many people gets +200ms to 220ms in Waterfront or Financial depending the day of the week and that might be due to N.Y. or L.A. server rotation I guess. If anything, 180ms is the average latency for South American players in Jericho. The point is, from 15ms to 60ms you'll be able to play as it is meant to be played, 90ms is the tresshold to start feeling the latency, and above 120ms is an undeniable disadvantage when the reaction time to open fire on engage is like half of that, 150ms is indeed the limit for many games whit capped latency and auto-kick measures in place. In games where latency is 15ms to 50ms as much my personal limit is anything below 90ms, if I choose to play a game where minimum possible latency is 150ms but there's lag above 180ms is noticeably more stressing while 200ms is plain absurd to even try. Personally I got used to an average of 155ms to 165ms while back in the day I used to play with 140ms till DDoS mitigation and stuff happened. That's my personal experience that I wanted to share.

  3. This makes me think that maybe the current staff + spct barely gather half of the district population when they need to test stuff like this...or at least if they are in a hurry and can't schedule with enough anticipation to get everyone on.
  4. +1 I'm concerned that I was told a couple of times that they are working on this issue and, sad to say, I have the feeling like we might be being misinformed, I'll hold my hope that it is just a technical issue that is being worked on, but if the case is that this was configured this way on purpose, either to provide Citadel with enough districts due to the holiday event, or for any other possible reason, I wish we could get informed with the same transparency that MattScott and the team have been keeping us in the loop for almost everything else. Edit / Update: It looks like they shut down the prototype district and opened a second instance for Financial district. In my opinion that's more than fine. Thanks though. Edit / Update 2: It seems that was temporary and now we are at peak hour on Jericho facing the same issue. Regards.

  6. Thanks for your input, I guess that's it I agree. Yet I'm not complaining tho. I'm more in search of some official word on what's going on. Since they said they notified the team about this I assume it is a technical issue, so I feel like I could insist to let them know the difficulties I have to actually play the game. I'm unable to play since I have no choice. Thanks again though.

  8. The fact that you mention that it isn't "because of some personal hardware issues [...] or things like that on my system" just clearly explains your knowledge about these matters is below 0. You "play games since 1998" yet have you ever coded anything at all or at least a cheat? Or do you even used a cheat at all in any other games? Let me insist, it is not possible for a client side script or code or however you wants to call it to "inject" anything in "the memory of the game" server side. They only can control their own computer behavior and there's so few they can do without triggering the anti-cheat measures in place unless they totally bypass it which requires even more complicated steps to accomplish. Now going on topic; Many people here admitted they have been cheating on APB and never got caught in a while if they even got banned at all, most of them knows other cheaters who got caught and re-rolled once and again many times too, so they actually know better than many of us how cheats works and how cheaters handle it to get away with it. Personally I used to cheat a lot on a different game back in 2003/2005 which also was a third person shooter running on Unreal Engine and I can tell you that someone can last years without being detected, you can even make friendship with admins and convince them you are just good and getting hackusated for it, you can even get unbanned through forums if you are charismatic enough and you can spot other cheaters and get them banned by the admins if you try. That's just a part of the lot of stuff I've seen going on in that game and similarities with APB are vast and accurate. But if you stick only to wallhacks it is impossible to detect it or get a player banned for it because there always will be a chance that the guy was just "lucky" enough to find eveyrone on every corner every single time. For aimbot, although anticheat usually detect these, if they manage to bypass the anticheat, they usually bind the toggle button to a common key, let's say "leaning", and they just tap it a bit when they need to land some shots avoiding to snap every time they engage in combat. There are more tricks like avoiding the first place in the scoreboard and letting experienced players kill you or toggling completely off when you think someone could spot you so that way they can last longer avoiding the ban hammer. So answer is yes, there are cheaters in this game like in any other game, the most important issue I see is that once the GMs monitored a reported player and they conclude that he wasn't cheating then, if the case is that this player has been applying any of the techniques I just mentioned, chances are that said player will never be monitored again since the GMs might consider the case closed or such. Not sure if that's how it works here but is just what I think may happen. Regards.
  9. Hello, Merry Christmas @Lixil, @Selali, @MattScott and LO staff. I've been unable to play the game because Jericho seems to have a reduced amount of district instances since the holiday event. There's only one single instance of each game mode including the empty prototype district that no one ever joins. I was told the team was informed about this and they'd be looking into it but I'd like to know if this is an actual technical issue or just a decision made in order to provide Citadel with enough districts or something like that which would make sense to me. Let me clarify I'm not complaining if this is something configured this way on purpose but I just feel in the need to insist to let you guys at LO know that the experience to attempt to join a district to play the game since the holiday event patch has been terrible to me. Anyone else from Jericho are welcome to bring up your opinion if you also had this issue which is the purpose of this thread. Kindest regards, Sal.

I thought that maybe because of the holiday event and since Citadel is temporary hosted at NA there might be not enough space to host all the needed instances, but also thought that if that was the case it would be informed. Good to know there's an issue and it may get fixed eventually. Have a nice one. Edit: I've been unable to play because of this, not sure if should have clarified that. Regards.

  13. Trying to join a district has been a nightmare today, only one single instance of each district so no additional Financial instances spin up while it was full, and its been full all night. It is related with the holiday event? And if so, is gonna be like that for the whole duration of the event? Thanks in advance for taking a look at this @Lixil, @Selali or @MattScott.

  15. Look, you need to use the launcher so it updates your game. If it says "error" when it finishes then you'll have to disable your antivirus and update again, that will fix your issue. Hit me up if anything, good luck.

  18. Not fair when everyone else is rolling new characters with Volcano, Ursus, Nano and whatnot. Yet, they should make it able to mail it through your own characters of the same account only. It used to be like that before the trade system so idk why it doesn't work like that for dutch players. Good luck.

  21. They are actually cute in their innocence, you just have to kindly ask and they will answer. Is what I do when I think someone might be using macros in my team, I ask them as if I were interested on know how to use it or such and they nicely tell me they are indeed using "mouse macros". Just a recent example but is not the first time, it works almost every time lol. I mean, new gaming generations have had naturalized many different forms of cheating as part of the game. I have this little hunch that cheaters and that sort of players are kind of aware that if they stick playing on Jericho they avoid the ban hammer easier than in Citadel tbh.
